This was my first time in Florence (I went there in early October), and I feel lucky to have picked out one of the best, well-priced places in the city! Our host, Alessio, is very warm and friendly, and most helpful. The rooms are very clean with a comfortable bed and private bathroom. There's wi-fi. Breakfast is provided in the Plaz restaurant just a few yards down the street (I love their pastries). It's in a great, quiet location. It's further out from the train station (about a 20 min-walk or you can take a taxi) but central enough to easily walk to the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery, the Accademia Gallery, the Ponte Vecchio area, the Bargello Museum, and Santa Croce Basilica (the church where Michelangelo, Galileo, and other great Italians are interred). There's a gelateria just downstairs and a laundromat and a great grocery store, Conad, just down the street. Also, if you need to go to the hospital, it's only about a 5-min walk away. You really can't ask for a better location. I would definitely stay there again! read more
