Margherita Pizza, beet salad with a glass of house red
    Tiffany P.

This was my first time here I decided to treat myself to a pre-birthday dinner. Nicole the bartender was great. She was quick with putting in the order and making sure that the food came on time. Nicole can help you decide on what beverage works best for you and your meal. I had the margarita pizza with a beet salad. Beet salad was one of the best I've had just the right amount of balsamic vinegar with a very creamy goat cheese, and just the right amount of Craisins. The margarita pizza had the best crust it was buttery to the ends and just the right amount of cheese, sauce, and basil. Some pizzas are greasy, but this one was not it was worth every penny. This place is good for kids, hanging out with friends or a great date night.

Meatball Panini aka a bread sandwich w/a side of meatball.

I had hopes for a really good restaurant in Brentwood, since we are really laking in that area. My family and I went for lunch on a Saturday (it wasn't "busy" despite the Farmer's Market happening) and boy...not sure if I'd come back. First, I came a few minutes late from the rest of the group - they already got drinks ordered and it took 5 minutes for someone to come back and ask if I wanted a drink, regular plain Coca Cola, and then another 10 minutes to bring out said Coca Cola. And when I got it, there was more ice than Coca Cola in it the glass, which seemed less than a Mini Coke. Then the food comes...we asked for our son's kid pizza to come out first because he's little/hungry (it doesn't) and on top of that the dough was not cooked through all the way in many spots. When the rest of the food comes out, they bring my bread sandwich (see photo of "Meatball Panini") and boy was that a disappointing sandwich. TWO meatballs on opposite ends of the sandwich, a little cheese, and no sauce - it was like 95% bread (for $20). On top of that they forgot to bring out the pizza my wife ordered as well as another meatball dish, and after 15 minutes of waiting we had to flag someone down to ask. I'm convinced that if we didn't ask for them, we wouldn't have gotten them. The atmosphere is nice-ish and our server was nice as well, but added next to the other parts, I don't feel it can overcome those negatives. But hopefully it was an off day or something and other people have better experiences.

    Vesuvio, with smoke. So good!

Love what they did with the "patio" area here. It's like you're sitting in Italy. The Vesuvio drink with smoke was a show stopper. Service was good, albeit a little slow. This place has a very laid back Italian vibe; stay awhile, relax, enjoy good company, & food. The margarita pizza is an award winner for a reason. A perfectly fluffy crust with slightly charred outer bubbles. Whole basil leaves & a simple but tasty sauce. The Gorgonciccia is gorgonzola forward, obviously. The Italian sausage is superb. The Caesar salad is solid. The Locanda salad was very fresh & unique. I just expected it to be a bit larger @$17. If you are not in a rush & are not on a budget, this is a great place to have a relaxing, enjoyable meal.

Fritto Misto with two pieces of shrimp, artichoke hearts and both tubes and calamari rings - delicious

Date night on a Saturday. Reservations were easy to make. We started with the fritto misto and locanda salad. Both were delightful and enough to share for two. I would have liked some fresh cracked pepper but didn't see any around. He had the vesuvio aka old fashioned; it was super smokey and it had a bunch of bits on the bottom. It could have been strained better. For dinner, I had the wood fired carbonara pizza. It's being enough to share topped with crispy guanciale. Really delicious! He had the chicken parm, kind of thick piece of chicken over mashed potatoes. They ran out of tiramisu but substituted the limoncello cake instead. Overall 4 out of 5 for our date night in downtown Brentwood.

    Very bland Margherita Pizza
    Steven L.

I was really disappointed by this restaurant. The food was all very bland. We ordered a Margherita Pizza- the picture showed fresh sliced melted mozzarella with lots of basil, what you'd expect from this type of pizza. What we got was a pizza with shredded mozzarella and two pieces of basil. Very bland. The Fettuccini Bolognese was also very bland, literally no flavor. On the plus side the manager and server were very nice, but I won't be back due to lackluster food.

Charming restaurant with both indoor and outdoor seating. Staff was great, friendly helpful service and the food was delicious and well priced. Portions are very generous. I can't wait to go back and try the pizza.

After a full morning of fruit picking, this place was the perfect stop for lunch! We sat in the back covered patio (dog-friendly!), which had a nice lounge area decorated with lots of IG worthy photo opps lol. My favorites were the Ragu Napoletano, which had homemade meatballs and the Pollo Panini, the bread was so fresh and the chicken was very juicy. * Brussels Sprouts (highly recommend!) * Pollo Panini (highly recommend!) * Orange Bourbon Salmon * Ragu Napoletano (highly recommend!) * Spaghetti Arrabbiata * Aperol Spritz & Hugo Spritz

Visited this restaurant a year or so ago when it first opened, it was excellent. Unfortunately I went after Christmas 2025 and it was not as enjoyable. The food was extremely bland, and the inside of the restaurant had a lingering sewage smell, maybe the plumbing has some issues. The staff were very kind, but the food was not good and the drinks were so sour my friend and I couldn't finish them. Hoping this was just a bad day and not a reflection of the food and restaurant quality now.

This is the 4th visit in a few years. And the food is still missing on so many levels, I had high hopes of better quality of food but not so lucky. Our starters was the fritto misto (calamari), it were obviously reheated because it was not crispy at all so heavy and mushy and saturated in oil, very inedible. And meatballs that didnt taste fresh also reheated. Our main courses were lasagna ( I didn't get a picture of) which I had, and after a couple bites I had to return because, well if you've ever had lasagna you know what the texture is supposed to be, well this wasn't that. Instant mushy like had been frozen and reheated several times the noodles were like a paste. The waiter said it was a few days old..uh ew. Then the "Chef" came out to tell me it was fresh that he drove from Livermore early to make taht it was never frozen. Uh, apparently he wasn't on same page to tell same story with waiter. Husband had the spaghetti costliera (seafood pasta) he said it was "ok". I think he was just hungry. So, if your hungry for good italian, I would not recommend spending money here. They do however, have good drinks. If your only looking to chill, have a drink and hang out, the patio is a nice area. Giving this place 2 stars for drinks and atmosphere.

Came here for happy hour with the in-laws a few months back. It's an Italian restaurant in the front and they have an enclosed patio area that takes you into a photo-centric Italian escape. We popped in for cocktails and desserts and the service was amazing. Each drink we ordered came with its own little show! I loved how the bartender finished off the drinks infront of us and kept us engaged. Will definitely be coming back!

Walked in and it is colorful, cozy, and beautiful. Bright colored like the pictures of homes in Italy. We were sat right away by a kind host. We ordered mocktails, coffee, appetizers, main course, and dessert. Everything was beyond delicious, absolute perfection. The most delicious meal I've ever had within my memory. Our server was super kind and attentive. The quality ingredients is what makes this place shine. My stomach always tells me when I've eaten low quality ingredients, and me and my stomach were very very happy! :)

Celebrated my 27th birthday here tonight. Julio is spectacular and we had a great first experience, great service, and good portioned food. There's catchy music and heaters outside which made our meal even more enjoyable. Grazie!

What are the happy hour specials?

Our Happy Hour runs daily from 4–7 PM and features small bites and cocktails.

When can I count on outdoor dining?

The back patio isn't overly crowded at lunch time. You can make online reservations and request to eat outdoors in the notes. I'm sure you could also call to make reservations and also request the patio. They definitely get busy on weekend evenings.

Do they accommodate larger parties for events like birthdays, showers, etc.?

I really like that because it makes it a consistent date spot because the food is constantly changing and it's a new experience every time. The food itself was amazing because everything's handmade and farm-to-table. Everything is seasoned so nicely, presented, with super fresh quality ingredients. Unfortunately, the bar and the kitchen just didn't deliver. My Gin & Tonic was a hazard; it was so completely overloaded with peppercorns that I felt like I was chewing my drink and had to spit them out after every sip. For food, the corn elote lacked balance, and the scallops--which arrived swimming in a soup instead of a puree--tasted noticeably off. The chicken parm was entirely forgettable. With these kinds of texture and flavor issues, there's just no attention to detail in the kitchen. Even with great service, we won't be returning.

We got the brussels sprouts, prosciutto and arugula pizza, four cheese pizza, and the pasta with bolognese sauce +meatballs. The brussels sprouts was what came first.. appetizer! The outer layers of the brussels sprouts was mostly burnt, while the insides were pretty burnt. I can't blame them though, most restaurants can't do brussels sprouts perfectly. I always order brussels sprouts when I see them on a menu, but very few turn out to be very good. Also, be aware that Melo's go heavy on the vinegar on the brussels sprouts. The prosciutto and arugula pizza was a personal favorite, as I am a great fan of arugula.. gotta love that unique sesame taste! My only complaint is that there is not enough prosciutto in the pizza. I have no complaints for the four cheese pizza! It did not disappoint at all! The cheese is really rich and there's a cheese pull for each slice you pull out. Though a cheese pizza appears to be underwhelming, the four cheese pizza here at melo's is perfectly heavy, and you get a different taste from each bite of your slice! On the other hand, the bolognese sauce and meatballs were not bad, but nothing new. Though the add on of meatballs were 7.50$, we only get two meatballs! Pretty pricey to be, especially cause they're nothing special. Maybe even overcooked, cause they were unnecessarily dense.
