The Grouper was excellent, blackened just a bit since our waitress suggested we could ask for that. Hush puppies and side salid were as good as you can ask for. It's a casual place so no $150 wines or $50 desserts, but I will say the desserts "look" like they should be pricy. The place is nice and appropriately rustic. The VIEWS are simply AMAZING. Why I didn't find this place sooner?! This place seems always busy. I've sat inside and outside (when I brought my dog) and both were great. The outside is so pretty along the water. The first time I went, I got the lobster tails - I'm a lobster fiend. My lobster was tender and on the larger side and so amazingly good. My husband liked his locals chopped burger with his local beer. But, he really enjoyed his chicken club when we went again and I ordered the bacon wrapped scallops which were thick, tender and so tasty. I also liked the orange blood margarita that I ordered each time. For desert we enjoyed key lime pie which somewhat was like a cheesecake version. We dined here on a Friday evening for dinner. We were seated right away and greeted with a smile. The restaurant is has both indoor and outdoor seating. I saw someone with a dog outside so I assume they are dog friendly. Ample parking outside the restaurant and across the street the food was amazing!!! We started outside on the deck behind the restaurant with drinks and appetizers/ lovely evening - and even though a fan was blowing on us - the no seeums won - went inside for our meal . But literally everyone we spoke with was so friendly I felt like I was their friend from childhood . We got two cocktails one was the toasted coconut Mai tai which was really good but the sea side mojito I think won with the fresh mint . All of our food was excellent! We split the crab cake dinner (perfect portion, flaky and flavorful) with a baked potato and collard greens on the side. Patricia (who claims she's a "hot Latina" but apparently can't handle a little spice) thought the collards were too fiery--more for me. I thought thy were perfect. Appetizers were killer: mussels swimming in garlic oil (with a generous portion of perfectly soft dipping bread) and seared ahi that melted in our mouths. Everything was fresh, beautifully prepared, and, honestly, priced way better than it could be. (don't tell them. I loving being able to afford to go here) Service was spot-on--attentive enough to keep the drinks flowing, but chill enough to let us stare at each other and play like we do at dinner without feeling rushed. Wow! Incredible! My wife and I both had blackened scallops with baked potatoes. She had the asparagus and I had mac-n-cheese, and everything was out of this world. For dessert we split a chocolate bomb and it was tremendous. Our waittress Tara was the best! Thank you to the wonderful staff for helping me celebrate my husband's 40th birthday today. I had a cake made so I can give it to him and they were really nice about singing happy birthday and even got some of the restaurant in on it. I can't thank the staff enough. We're staying at the Good Bread House Bed and Breakfast and the owner suggested eating here. We're so glad she did. We actually shared the crab stuffed flounder and it was a plate of amazing flavor! It came with 2 sides and we ordered an extra side salad which was perfect. The extra hot hush puppies was a treat as well. The service was fast and friendly and we will definitely be back. This restaurant is right along the water front in historic downtown St. Mary's, so you have the view of the water, if you want to sit outside on their patio. We sat inside, in the AC, since it was a very hot day. We were greeted and waited about 2 minutes to be seated, as the restaurant was starting to pick up for lunch. I ordered a sweet tea, fried fish & chips lunch special, with a side of Mac n cheese. The fish was a large portion and fried to perfection. The batter was crispy, and the fish fresh and flaky. I loved it. The Mac n cheese was good, but could be a bit more creamy in my opinion. My mom ordered the fried oysters with sweet potato fries, and she loved it! They also have burgers and sandwiches on their menu, along with pastas and salads. I would definitely return here for yummy seafood lunch. read more

I really loved their unique Mac-n-cheese too. I had to knock off one star for the slooow service. Once we were sat at our table, it took forever for our server to take our drink order. We saw her twice after that: once to order our food and once when we had to wave her down to ask them to take off our appetizer that was just taking way too long. The place was moderately busy but not slammed packed so I'm not sure why the service just wasn't all that great.
