It wasn't crowded at all, but this *was* the night before Thanksgiving, so that made sense. That said, there was a decent group of regulars that seemed to love the place. And we can see why. As the other reviewer mentioned, this bar caters to an older crowd (baby boomers with a sprinkling of Gen X), which isn't to say that younger people wouldn't be welcomed ... but the shenanigans that sometimes comes with being younger would be out of place here. Don, Jared and the Konspiracy was the band last night, and they did a fine job of playing classic rock standards that kept the dance floor busy. The food at the back (jambalaya) was a really nice touch, and the bartender did a wonderful job of keeping everyone topped up with good cheer. We're glad to have discovered this locals hangout and we'll definitely be back.

I hired a decorator who provided a back drop and small decor throughout the venue but it really doesn't require much. Prior to the event I communicated with Ms. Julie who was always helpful and prompt. The only available catering was Cecilia and they did NOT disappoint. Guests absolutely loved the food. Our bartender was also great for the event. He worked solo but he did a good job with keeping up with request. I would definitely book another event with The River Room if needed.

The staff seems extremely down to earth, and the bar has chatty bartenders that are quick to recommend all sorts of drinks. Scotch and whiskey cocktails are their specialty, but they will make anything as long as they carry it. The place also seems like an interesting venue for group activities and buyouts. It feels like an ideal private space, having two floors means there are some custom options worth exploring. There's also an outdoor patio and the crowds are never too overwhelming.
