BUT, the TABLES! Mike takes care of those tables. They are solid. And if you're a hustler and looking for a money game, Bayou is THE only place in BR to go. That's where the real sharks are at. The OG, og's!! Bartenders are great (I would know, I'm one of them ....hehehe)! Tuesday nights are steak night. Mike is out back grilling MASSIVE sirloin steaks. For $13 you get a massive steak, a side, garlic bread and a desert! Mike's steaks are LIT!! Definitely check it out if you are serious about the game!

I have been hanging out at Bayou Billiards since I was a teenager and I even worked there for a stint years ago.You pay for pool by the hour for the most part. However, if you aren't that great at pool like me they do have some quarter tables. The pool hall also has megatouch, golden tee, darts and a jukebox. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The really amazing thing about this pool though are the regulars. There are a ton of old men that come in day in and day out and have for 40 plus years. There are also young kids that hang out there regularly. That's what makes it so special...it can be anyone's Cheers.

There are several large flat-screen TV's usually tuned to football or baseball, so it's a great place to catch the game. Thursday and Saturday nights also have karaoke, which is my favorite. Adam is the regular karaoke dj - he's great! The bartenders and management are all friendly and know what they're doing. It's a bar filled with regulars and they know almost everyone by name. Being a bar I guess I should cover the drinks - they have all the standard domestics, several on draft, a few Louisiana beers and a few imports. Decent selection of liquors for mixed drinks, very small wine selection. I think most folk could get the drink they're looking for as long as you're not expecting a craft taproom or fancy whiskey bar. It's a straight bar - so no food. But if you're hungry there's a Pizza Hut and Greek and Chinese restaurants all within 100 yards. You can call in your order, have it delivered to the Tiger or just walk over and pick it up to bring back. Just ask your bartender - they have the menus and phone numbers! There's not much to complain about, but to justify not giving that last star, I'd say it's sometimes too crowded, especially Saturdays. Ideally they'd have about twice the square footage and another 15' or more of bar. Things are a little awkward now since EBR banned smoking in bars too - there's not a well-planned option for smokers like a deck with a bar so there's a lot of in and out the front door for smokers. The smoke free barroom is a nice development but also an inconvenience to the many smoking customers. I notice the Yelp profile for here is quite old. Ownership changed after the Great Flood of 2016 and I think the bar was pretty much gutted and rebuilt, so the profile really needs to be updated.

The parking lot has adequate spaces. The restaurant looks like it has enough seating for a good bit of customers. We had a party of approximately 15. We ordered several appetizers and entrees. The appetizers came out fairly quick. I didn't take a picture of it but we ordered the boudin egg-rolls. EXCUSE ME?? WHAT? YES!!! That good! Get them! I would've gotten them as a meal with a salad had I known! So good! I was intrigued by the muffuletta pizza so I ordered it on the cauliflower crust. Pretty good! Several people ordered the ribeye and said it was good. Nice size and it comes with a salad and another side. That is still a good deal in my opinion! Our server was really attentive. Sometimes when a restaurant is busy and the server has to wait other tables the people in the private rooms get forgotten. Not this time! They were great! We will go back if we are back in the area! Cheers!

I am not sure if there was a karaoke league going on when I walked in or if everyone was just that good and if the KJ just KNEW what songs people were able to sing. Everyone was seated patiently at these long tables with plastic chairs. It almost looked like a senior center or a church (or what I imagine either of those places to look like, since I attend neither). The KJ was ASSIGNING songs to people, or at least seemed to be since even though people were signed up to sing in an orderly queue they had no idea what they were singing until they got to the stage. Incredibly, every single person absolutely NAILED whatever song they were given and the crowd was so positive and supportive. I attempted to sing "Groove Is In The Heart" for the first time ever, which I admittedly botched as I needed more practice before I debuted it, but the crowd was super encouraging and helped me get through my performance. Overall, I had a great time on the cheap and met some wonderful, talented people. If I ever happen to be in Baton Rouge again, I will definitely stop by here for another fantastic night!
