If you love playing pool, don't let looks deceive you. The owner, Mike Black is an OG pool player,…read morehe could easily be go pro and be a world champ, but he's a family man, and keeps is simple. The area of town is sketchy af, and the inside of the place looks like Mr. Roper was probably buried under the carpet, anyone younger than Gen X is NOT going to get that reference. haha! BUT, the TABLES! Mike takes care of those tables. They are solid. And if you're a hustler and looking for a money game, Bayou is THE only place in BR to go. That's where the real sharks are at. The OG, og's!! Bartenders are great (I would know, I'm one of them ....hehehe)! Tuesday nights are steak night. Mike is out back grilling MASSIVE sirloin steaks. For $13 you get a massive steak, a side, garlic bread and a desert! Mike's steaks are LIT!! Definitely check it out if you are serious about the game!

I have been hanging out at Bayou Billiards since I was a teenager and I even worked there for a stint years ago.You pay for pool by the hour for the most part. However, if you aren't that great at pool like me they do have some quarter tables. The pool hall also has megatouch, golden tee, darts and a jukebox. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. The really amazing thing about this pool though are the regulars. There are a ton of old men that come in day in and day out and have for 40 plus years. There are also young kids that hang out there regularly. That's what makes it so special...it can be anyone's Cheers.

Kind of a dive bar. A fun place with great people. If pool is your thing, they have 4 tables and…read moretournaments several nights a week. There's always a good crowd playing. There are several large flat-screen TV's usually tuned to football or baseball, so it's a great place to catch the game. Thursday and Saturday nights also have karaoke, which is my favorite. Adam is the regular karaoke dj - he's great! The bartenders and management are all friendly and know what they're doing. It's a bar filled with regulars and they know almost everyone by name. Being a bar I guess I should cover the drinks - they have all the standard domestics, several on draft, a few Louisiana beers and a few imports. Decent selection of liquors for mixed drinks, very small wine selection. I think most folk could get the drink they're looking for as long as you're not expecting a craft taproom or fancy whiskey bar. It's a straight bar - so no food. But if you're hungry there's a Pizza Hut and Greek and Chinese restaurants all within 100 yards. You can call in your order, have it delivered to the Tiger or just walk over and pick it up to bring back. Just ask your bartender - they have the menus and phone numbers! There's not much to complain about, but to justify not giving that last star, I'd say it's sometimes too crowded, especially Saturdays. Ideally they'd have about twice the square footage and another 15' or more of bar. Things are a little awkward now since EBR banned smoking in bars too - there's not a well-planned option for smokers like a deck with a bar so there's a lot of in and out the front door for smokers. The smoke free barroom is a nice development but also an inconvenience to the many smoking customers. I notice the Yelp profile for here is quite old. Ownership changed after the Great Flood of 2016 and I think the bar was pretty much gutted and rebuilt, so the profile really needs to be updated.

I really enjoyed my time there and the bartender was attentive and kind. However, the charges for the pool table was extremely unclear. I understand the place has to make money on the pool tables but there were no signs, no discussion of the cost, she just handed us the tray of balls and we hung out for about three hours. When we got our bill and it was $2.50 for every 15 minutes, we were a little agitated that we weren't told how it worked when she handed us the tray. Overall, we had a good experience. I do believe there should be signs or some sort of indication of how much you will be paying for a table. $35.50 being added to our tab was a little but unexpected.

I loved the atmosphere and had a great time with my friends. However, the female bartender was extremely rude, and is the reason my review is only 3 stars. We showed up at 12:30 on a Friday night and walked in, and put around $10 in the jukebox, and sat down, then were quickly informed that she was closing the bar, and we had to leave immediately, even though there were multiple people still finishing their games of pool, and we were sitting quietly at the table listening to the music we paid for. The closing time said 2 am, yet it was barely past midnight, and instead of being nice about the fact that she was closing early, she was rude from the beginning, and then got aggressive as we were getting our things together to leave. There was no reason for her hostility, and no reason we shouldn't have been able to listen to the music we paid for. If I would have known the place was closing early, I wouldn't have wasted my money. She should have told us from the start.
