Let me start by saying I elected not to use this company so please do not let this reflect their service as I do not know how that is. I was given a two hour window on a Saturday for a garage door tuneup. 15 minutes before the two hour window is up, I get an impersonal text, not even a phone call, to tell me the technician is running late. I have to call to find out late he's going to be and I'm informed it'll be at least an hour. I have a hard time believing 15 minutes before my 2-hour window was over they just found out he would be late, but wether or not they did, you can't even make a phone call to the customer? I did not use their services for two reasons: One, the technician arrived 2 hours late to our estimate appointment. Two, the quoted estimate to replace two broken torsion tension springs was $715+ tax They were trying to charge me $220 per spring plus $275 labor. Now, I respect their work and understand that manual labor is expensive, but $220 for each spring? That is highway robbery and an insult. Of course i shopped around with other licensed technicians and soon found about that a proper repair job should cost around $400-$500. So I respectfully declined the offer. Called them after seeing their reviews on yelp. Our garage door got stuck. Mario came very promptly and determined that the garage door opener was barely holding on as it appeared to be messed with or installed with only hand tightening the screws and we were lucky to avoid a disaster. Our heavy door could have easily came crashing down when opened. He did an excellent job and I he was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this service. The price was higher than expected but for my situation it was well worth it. Also found out that our garage door model has known issues and it was upgraded after Covid to fix these issues. Our review could be much longer, but I do not want to get into the specifics other than. I had some issues. With the torsion spring being too tight and not being able to shut my garage door after install and missing a bolt that holds the torsion spring. Also an 1hr 40 minutes late to the appt to fix the problems they left after first install. What concerns me in the most is that they say they do a 35 point inspection for safety. This inspection was definitely not done after my install was complete you would've caught that there was a missing bolt. Also, they never lubed the door as they say that's an included in the install. read more

I saw Local Garage Doors here on yelp. The lady I spoke with on the phone was very helpful and answered all my questions. I didn't feel that I was rushed which I really hate when I am inquiring services. The Technician that helped us was very knowledgeable and explained the California codes. Since our garage door opener is 17 years old he gave me all the options available and I was not pushed by any means to replace or buy any units from them. Eventually I chose a Liftmaster opener from them and got a great service! I will have my garage rollers replaced by them in the summer! Best choice i ever made!! read more

I was in the house when I heard the all too familiar sound of a garage door spring breaking. I went out and yup, snapped. I contacted Local Garage Doors and had a lovely conversation here on Yelp with a very helpful lady. She quoted $250 for a spring with 3 year warranty and $350 for a spring with lifetime warranty but a tech should look (obviously). The tech came out and he was very cool also, but that's where the one star gets dropped. During the conversation with the tech it was mentioned that there are two springs on the door and both should be changed together and that $250 price is actually $380 for two springs and the labor. The price was still reasonable and it came with a door lubing and check up so of course I had them do it. I had to drop the star because I feel like a price shouldn't have been quoted to me for a job over Yelp that was possibly not accurate. Yes it can be argued I asked for a price for a spring (one) but I could have been warned than garage doors some times or usually come with two springs that should be replaced together for the actual price of $380. I would still recommend this company for garage repairs and would just make sure you are clear with what you have and need. read more

I made a appointment with Local Garage Doors company on Sep 19, and within 48 hours they were able to send a Technician to replace my old garage motor and also they replaced the wall opener and programmed 3 new garage remotes. Vazquez was the name of the Technician that came for that service. No issues, he was professional, efficient, as in 2.5 hours he was able to remove old motor, install new wall opener, replace the walk trip sensor, and inspect the other components of the garage door. He did not upsell me on what I did not need, only recommended. This business is easy to work with, communication is quick before service, during service and post service. The nice thing is, you get text notifications that your technician is on their way, so you have a great idea of what time they'll arrive to you. Called a few vendors to help replace a spring that broke on my garage door around 5pm and Local Garage Doors was the only vendor that had availability the following day. They were also the cheapest out of the vendors I received quotes from as well. The next day a tech came out and was able to complete the work within the hour, could have been an hour and a half as the tech finished faster that I thought. The tech informed me that the builder had ended up using 2 different spring lengths which is unusual as this is why one of them broke as it was twisted farther than its limits. I thought I had a gap which allowed rodents, giant spiders to come through but after measuring and inspecting my garage he said I didn't need it and my garage is exactly leveled how it should be. This was disappointing...was told a header board needed to be fixed which was $300...twenty minutes later after header board was fixed and was told garage door wouldn't work correctly by note staying down...old opener was twenty years old so not completely surprising since that was the original problem which I had told him before the header board came lose...problem could be fixed by buying and installing a new opener for $1300 total after a $300 adjustment toward work and material. Thanked him for his 30 minutes work and he gave me a warning the old garage door opener probably wouldn't work much longer and most likely cause lots of damage...I bought a 1hp Craftsman opener (made by Black and Decker) at Lowe's for $200. Local handyman we have used for nearly 30 years installing for $200. Why I didn't just call him I don't know because he's extremely good. He told me the Craftsman was more than adequate and he would have charged $75 to fix the header board...Was this a bait and switch...don't know for sure but seemed pretty shady with a $800 variance in cost compared to what I would ultimately pay‼ read more
