This has been my favorite time here in Italy!! So so fun with lots to do for all ages. You get a tour of the local market and then come back to a big kitchen and make delicious pizza and tiramisu! Definitely go here!!

We all learned so much, and we were with other families in the class as well and felt as if we were the only ones! Chef Simone was so kind, funny and informative! He showed us why Romans make the pizza they make, how to make the sauce, and how to bake the pizza's in the oven. We tried our hand at Gelato too - genius! Such a great part of our trip!!!! Totally made the TOP of our list! Completely WORTH IT!!!! Such a fun experience, doing something off the beaten path, and so fun!!!! Our Pizza we made was THE BEST PIZZA we had in Rome!!!! Thin, crispy, enough sauce, basil, mozzarella, perfection! The Gelato was out of this world too!!!! Rich and creamy! So fun to work with others, and with our family making something to eat and share! If you are looking for a unique experience to give you true credibility with your group, family and/or friends - this is truly a HOME RUN EXPERIENCE!!!! This will be a story of yours told for years to come!!! Try to get Chef Simone, you would be so happy you did!!!!! He's great with kids, adults, those who can't stir, and those who think they can! LOL!!!! Super fun!!!! Enjoy yourself and have fun!!!! When in Rome....

If you are considering taking a cooking class, don't go with those cheap classes where you watch someone prepare pizza. In this class, you are 100% participating in the preparation of what turned out to be a delectable 5 course meal that I'd pay good money for at a restaurant. We started by stopping at several small local markets where Chef Fabio would select vegetables, meat, cheese and other ingredients based on what was fresh and looked good. As we navigated the streets, I took in the incredible grandeur of Roman Architecture along the way with our final stop the Jewish Ghetto. Chef Fabio filled us in in the important historical aspects of this area. He also shared info on current events, like how covid affected the markets and restaurants. When our shopping was complete, we continued our walk over the bridge of the River Tiber to a small island in the Jewish Ghetto where his apartment is located. We actually cooked in his kitchen!! It was set up perfectly for a class. But the apartment itself, a stunning mix of super modern decor in an old apartment built in and incorporating ancient ruins was another surprise treat! Curves and arches everywhere with a window looking out onto the courtyard and another to the arched bridge and flowing Tiber River. Stunning in every way! This environment, the fact that we were cooking in this setting most definitely added to the uniqueness and fabulousness of the experience. He even took us to the rooms below the kitchen and dining area which are literally built in the ancient caves. Mind blown! We made several courses and were all prepping and making various components. Although we each made the three types of pasta. Like a maestro conducting a symphony, Chef Fabio directed us flawlessly and we sat down to enjoy the meal. First with a toast to the chefs! Us! For our meal we made and enjoyed: - Cavatelli pasta with a radicchio, blue cheese and walnut sauce. Such unique flavors coming together with the perfect balance. - Potato gnocchi with creamed artichoke sauce and crispy guanciale - Spinach and ricotta ravioli with a sauce made from parmigiana reggiano and pasta water. So creamy and absolutely divine. - Veal Saltimboca with a side of potato fried in freshly seasoned breadcrumbs and pecorino Romano - Strawberries with balsamic vinegar Everything was delectable, the perfect balance of flavors made with fresh, quality ingredients. While Chef Fabio didn't hand out recipes, I learned the techniques and feel confident that I can make everything. I can't wait to make the cavatelli shaped pasta, which is my favorite pasta shape and one my Nana made fresh on Sundays. So many memories and for mastering the roll and shape of cavatelli, it alone was worth the $130 euros! The gnocchi was surprisingly simple and fast to make and unlike the heavy gnocchi often served in restaurants, these were light pillows of Heaven. I'll probably make with a Sorrento sauce of tomatoes, basic and mozzarella. While I came to the class on my own, the two other couples also attending were just lovely. We all got along and had fun while we cooked and then shared stories and conversations as we ate our meal. Isn't that what food does? Connect and bind people? Chef Fabio was beyond fabulous! He runs the class like a well oiled machine. Giving clear directions. Showing techniques. Cleaning boards and tools along the way. Plus he also shares stories and conversations so it feels like an intimate experience. I must also give a shout out to Pablo who was busy cleaning and serving, keeping the kitchen clean which kept us on schedule. This class was a highlight of my fantastic trip and I am so happy I chose the five hour Fabulous Cooking Day Class out of the dozens of options online. A friend recommended it and now I'm recommending it to you. Mangia!

One would think this would be quite a challenge with these destinations being far apart, especially with the needs of an aging parent. Casa Mia Tours took this challenge head on. Gina, Eleanora and Carolyn gave so much of their time to consult with us about every detail: must see's, train itineraries and tickets, personal van transfer services, restaurants recommendations and reservations, personal tour guides, wine and food tours/tastings, ferry schedules, best spots for desserts and espresso, best walking and shopping neighborhoods, and so much more. Casa Mia Tours created a detailed itinerary for each day of our trip- from where we might want to eat to the schedule of our trains rides and van pick up to our tours for the day. Once we got to Italy, Casa Mia was available to lend a hand in any way to help make our experience as enjoyable as possible. They even helped with an unexpected trip to the ER with our mom! The personalized service from Casa Mia Tours is top notch, 5 stars, the best! Our family memories of this once-in-a-lifetime trip will be with us all forever. Thank you, Casa Mia Tours (Carolyn, Eleanora and Gina) for making this dream trip a reality for all of us, especially our mom. "

They are a one stop shop for everything including food itineraries, cooking classes, food tours and experiences. The thing I love most about this company is that they take time to listen to what you're looking for and cater to exactly what you want. I have taken 2 food tours with Gina and she is extremely knowledgeable and was able to take us to some of the best places for coffee, sweets, cheese, wine, snacks and pizza in Rome. She also booked us dinner reservations at places that are authentic and difficult to reserve. You will never find yourself at a tourist trap as long as you consult with Casa Mia. We also booked a private transfer from the Naples train station to our hotel in Sorrento with them and their driver was on time, easy to locate and extremely friendly. I took a private cooking class in Sorrento with Marcella in her home and it was the best lesson I have ever taken. I learned how to make delicious food and after the lesson, my family joined us to eat the meal we prepared in one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen in my life. We took a private tour of the Amalfi coast and our driver took us to so many beautiful cities. He made us lunch reservations at a restaurant with the most stunning views of Amalfi that served food created with ingredients grown in their private organic garden located below the restaurant. At each stop, he provided us with recommendations of where to visit in each town. Casa Mia also provided us with recommendations of places to buy food souvenirs, find artisanal gelato, tasty street food and pizzerias in each city we have visited. Do not plan a trip to Italy without consulting with these experts. They will help make sure you have the best time in the most beautiful country in the world. If you are not planning a trip to Italy in the near future, I also highly recommend their online cooking classes. I took many of them during the lockdown in 2020 and learned how to make delicious meals for my family.

I was so skeptical about this tour. I did the classic half day wine tour. For 55€, I was nervous…read moreabout the price and if the quality of the tour would be worth it, but can I tell you! This tour was worth the money spent. First, you catch the train and meet with the tour guide. My tour guide was Max. He was super knowledgeable and had funny jokes throughout the tour. He's a local and has traveled to many countries outside of his town of Frascati. We take a little tour of the town and he gives some history and we went into some shops and the main church there. Next, we stopped into a bakery and sampled some cheap, house wine (as he calls it) that is saved for families to drink with some sweet cookies. We were instructed to dip the cookies in the wine. Delish! Prior to that we got a little same of roasted pork with the wine as a light snack. Then a taxi comes to pick us up and take the group to the vineyard. We tour the vineyard and take awesome pictures. There's an awesome view of Rome from the vineyard. We then went into the cellar where the wine is stored and got a very detailed tour of the underground and the winemaking process. Next, we enter the tasting room. We received 3 (1 white, q red , 1 dessert wine) quality Frascati wines paired with a white pizza, red sauce pizza and bread. Olive oil that they also make at the vineyard is on the table to sample. Throughout each wine tasting, Max teaches about the wine. Lastly! The taxi returned to take the group to have lunch at a local restaurant back in the town. We received an appetizer of arugula, sautéed zucchini, I think a sautéed mushroom and some meat. Then we got a small portion of a red sauce pasta and then a carbonara with bacon bits (they had pairings and lunch options for anyone who was vegetarian as well). I was just enough food to leave me satisfied. I really enjoyed this tour! The tour is from about 10:30am to 2pm (you can catch the 2:36pm train back to termini or stay and enjoy the town until about 9pm when the last train comes). The small group setting was great for a nice intimate tour, easy picture taking and getting all your questions in. There were 9 people in my group but the tour has a 15 person max. I booked this tour super last minute on my way from Spain and they were accommodating. My only con was email response was a bit slow. I just showed up in hopes I was confirmed. I'm so glad I went! I believe you can only pay in cash, so be mindful of that. Bottles of the red and white wines are 10€ and the dessert wine is 15€ (if I remember correctly). Wine purchases are in cash as well. But y'all, this tour made my trip! It was everything! Highly, highly recommend!
