I was super excited to try this place after having missed them while living in Greenwich. The lobster Mac and cheese was great and the homemade potato chips were really good. Unfortunately the low stars for this review comes from the fact that they charged $30 for a lobster roll that had next to nothing as far as actual lobster meat. The lack of lobster meat was a bit ridiculous given the fact that I've had amazing lobster rolls at Watch Hill, Montauk, Greenwich, and Newport with much more filling and paid less, by at least $8 dollars. The lobster roll filling is also mixed with too many carrots and celery. I paid much less for the lobster Mac and cheese and got more lobster meat. My family and I were on a long, painful drive down I-95 when we were struck with hunger. Where is the nearest rest stop? Will they have a Subway? Luckily for us, I took out my handy Yelp app and decided to see what was around. Lo and behold, LobsterCraft popped up on the top of my list with a ringing endorsement from the Yelp community so away we went! We found the spot and were glad to see lots of parking and plenty of seating in the tent outside! We all ordered their traditional bestseller, The Coastal, and devoured them. Hearty chunks of lobster meat on delicious buttery, toasted bread. Was so yummy! I'm pretty spoiled by the Boston/Maine lobster scene but LobsterCraft held its own. She brought the bag out within 7 minutes of ordering and thanked us for our business. We were delighted with the food. The lobster was fresh, cooked well, and seasoned perfectly. We loved that they served the butter on the side. Lobster items come at a steep $20-25 for a moderate quantity of meat. Overall delicious but for a steep price. Three of us had two rolls, one Mac without lobster and 1 order of fries. Add 3 bottles of water and we were at $75 with tip. Before Yelp, I used Jane and Michael Stern's Road Food series books to find little gems like Lobstercraft. If you open Road Food, the first recommendation is Abbott's Lobster in the Rough in Noank, CT - a personal favorite. Lobstercraft has the same vibe. Outdoor seating, fresh, perfectly cooked lobster, fair pricing and friendly service. We were photographing a vintage car rally and while the rally entrants dined on a $150 lunch-for-two in a near-by fancy eatery, we drove here and tucked into what I am sure was a better lunch. Fresh, hot buttered lobster along with a side of crispy chips - $20. In NYC, that's a $40 meal. Their fries are excellent and are delivered in a generous portion that I shared with two others - yum! On my second visit, I added lobster bisque and was pleased at their take on this classic. They give you a bowl of rich broth with a cup of dipping lobster chunks. Clever and yummy. They have a lobster truck but if you need a sea food fix and are close by, drive around the back (look for their sign) and get ready to smile. Even if it's raining or chilly, you can sit in your car and chow down - they have a convenient parking lot. A classic roadside treasure and one that I'll go back again with my wife - a lobster fan and lover of good value. HIGHLY recommended - wish I could give more stars. read more

LobsterCraft was our 2nd choice and a big mistake. The Lazy Lobster in Milford was our destination but closed for the season, we should have waited. I wouldn't mind $90 for lobster rolls a clam chowder and a lobster bisque had the food been quality. It was not. The lobster meat was dry, fibrous and not fresh today. The clam chowder was standard at best but the lobster bisque was a poor approximation having more in common with a puréed vegetable soup. Food: We ordered the Fatty Coastal Lobster Roll and Surf & Turf Lobster Roll. Each roll came with 1/4 lb. of buttery lobster and for $10, you can add 1/4 lb. more (which is what we did for the Coastal). The Coastal is the OG style lobster roll, with a buttery roll and lobster dipped in butter. It was delicious, however, my only complaint was the bread got soggy because the lobster was dipped in butter. The Surf & Turf came with 1/4 lb. of lobster meat and some shreds of beef. The roll stayed nice and toasted because the lobster was dipped in butter. My issue with this one was there was barely any "steak" and it was dry; it seemed more like a garnish for the roll. However, the garlic aioli on top was nice. Overall, the lobster meat was sweet and succulent and each roll came with a side of potato chips. We also ordered the Clam Chowder, which we thought was good and had a solid amount of clams. Experience: We went on a Saturday night around 6 pm and there was no one else there. It was kind of hard to find since it's in the back of a small plaza, however, there was plenty of parking. The gentleman who took our order and brought out the food was extremely attentive and made sure to take care of us. There are trashcans by the entrance so be sure to clean up after yourselves on the way out! Value: The Coastal was $31 ($21 base + $10 for fatty) and the Surf & Turf was $23. Even after considering how lobster is hella expensive, we thought it was priced a bit high for what it turned out to be. I will say that I think $10 to make it a fatty is fair. read more

I'm in love with their lobster rolls! Hubby and I trekked it here from NYC to satisfy our lobster roll cravings. Please note this is a small brick-and-mortar location (no seating inside, small section for seasonal outdoor seating) with a food truck available for private locations. I thought that would be worth noting because the Yelp description has it listed as a food truck so I didn't realize they had a physical location as well. This was not a huge deal for us as we planned on taking the food to go anyways. When we got back to our car to take a "bite" of our food, we completely demolished the lobster rolls and even considered going back in to get 2 more. Yes they are that good. The man who helped us (shoot didn't get his name) was super friendly and explained everything to us as well as popular picks. We ended up getting: Coastal Lobster Roll: Warm lobster roll served with a side of warmed butter. Hubby absolutely loved it. I took a bite of his - super packed with lobster and the soft toasted bread the perfect vessel. 5 stars Dirty Maynard: A traditional Maine lobster roll - probably the best lobster roll I've ever had. The seasoned mayo was perfectly balanced with the huge lobster pieces. 5 stars Clam chowder: Delicious! Once we got home we split this. It's very thick and creamy with notes of rosemary. Excellent 5 stars Lobster Bisque: I'm always super picky on lobster bisque. I order it everywhere I go and am normally disappointed. Not here! The bisque was smooth and creamy with a nice note of sherry. It was served with a small container of chopped lobster to be added in. This set it over the top. Delicious. I'm glad it was served on the side with the option to add as you please because I love my bisque smooth. 5 stars Lobster grilled cheese: A two-cheese lobster grilled cheese on sourdough. Another amazing pick. Hubby thought it was too cheesy. Is that even possible? Knocking off half a star because though it was good, I would not necessarily get it again. Nothing against it and maybe I'm bias because I ate it after the amazing lobster rolls. Lobster pot pie: Comes raw, to be heated at home. I followed the directions provided but pie was still very raw after 18 minutes at 350. Popped it in for another 10-15 and the crust puffed up and was nice and flaky. The bottom was soggy though. Maybe due to the filling? Hubby and I split it and both agreed it was just OK. 3 stars. We are already planning our next visit back to this place. Absolutely worth it!
