I came upon their food truck at the Walnut Beach Farmers market. I was with friends who weren't eating, so I was thankful for friendly and quick service. I think the only dissatisfaction was the menu didn't seem to include beverages so I walked away without one as one was never offered. The fries were perfectly seasoned but I definitely wished I had a beverage. The lobster roll was also delicious. A good size and a nice flavor. A bit pricey, but worth it for lobster. read more

Was excited to find a place close to home to get a lobster roll. We usually go to lobster shack in East Haven. Really disappointed. Lobster was overcooked and dry even though it had butter on it. Stopped in for lunch today. Ordered a Scallops Dinner (included fries & coleslaw). Total bill was just over $20 (w/ tax). Maine scallops, I thought they were excellent. Fresh, with nice breading. Slaw was good also. Tarter was very tasty -- no need to use it with the scallops (because they were already so good), so I dipped the fries in the tarter. Owner was very friendly. The review is for the store in downtown Shelton We had been wanting to try Szabo's for the longest time. Based on the reviews, my family and I were expecting to be "blown away" by their food. We ordered fish and chips, crab cakes, NE clam Chowder stuffed clams, fries, lobster bisque. The food was "fine" but absolutely nothing to write home about. Crab cakes, fish and stuffed clams were only average in taste and seasoning. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were nothing special. Fries were soggy and I only live 5 minutes from their store Also had to wait an extra 20 minutes at the store for pickup since they were behind on orders. They also didn't tell me there was a 4% upcharge for debit or credit cards until I got to the store Disappointing for the money we paid. read more

Best decision we've made at a food truck! The Fish & Chips were well cooked and crispy to perfection, it is served with a side of tartar sauce & coleslaw. The New England clam chowder wasn't as thick as were used to but it was delicious with a lot of great flavor! Huge chunks of clams and bacon added the right amount of richness the bowl! At this year's New Haven Food Truck Festival, some friends and I split a couple of lobster rolls from Szabo's. Each was $18. We all agreed that while we appreciated the pureness of the lobster, it was clearly not the freshest lobster we've had in Connecticut. So that was unfortunate. 3.5 stars. The owner doesn't smile much but was professional and helpful in introducing the items. He also seemed really nice to the regulars when it comes to pricing some of the fresh by weight items. We got the captain's platter which was about $28 and good for two ppl. It was a big platter of fried yumminess. The platter consisted of 4 fried shrimps (they were large and sweet and very yummy), 4 fried whole scallops (two were a bit smaller but big enough for multiple bites), a bunch of clam strips, 4 fish filets (our least favorite bc it reminded us of school lunch fish sticks in texture. Mushy and tasteless) and a big boat of fries. Also comes with two Cole slaws. Now that we have tried all of the items, next time we will only get the scallops and shrimps. I'm honestly not a huge fish fan, but I somehow ended up liking fish and chips. Don't ask. They were sooooooo gooooood! Holy crap! My boss got the lobster roll and liked it so much that he ended up going to buy another. Their food is super fresh, too! Customer service is great! Although the owner seems to be strictly about business, he is very accommodating and makes sure that what you ordered is what you get. This was my experience. Would I recommend? Absolutely! Probably the best option for takeout seafood in Shelton. Tried the fish sandwich along with a side order of shrimp...everything was OK, but I thought the portions were a little small. I liked the chewiness of the bread on the fish sandwich and thought the fish had decent flavor. I didn't like the batter used for the shrimp...sort of resembled a beer batter, which I don't really care for because of the extra breading. Staff was super friendly. Szabos brought their food truck to our work location. In 90+ degree heat their crew did a great job of serving us light delicious seafood dishes. I had the fish and chips and it was not overly greasy. They were doing a hot lobster roll but I did not feel like spending $18 for lunch. I will repeat if they bring their truck to my work again. The lobster roll was pretty god, but not much chunky lobster meat, it was more chopped or scraps. It had a good taste, but I do not believe worth the money and wait. The lobster bisque was $9 a bowl and was nothing, but broth, not even the slightest hint of a piece or scrap of lobster. It wasn't very tasty, I will not make this mistake again. This truck is awesome! They have shrimp, crab, lobster, fish. A great way to satisfy your seafood lunchtime craving. I got a fish taco with french fries for $7.50. The taco was more like a burrito. It was huge! A full sized piece of fish in a tortilla with cole slaw, lettuce, tomatoes, and spicy sauce. YUM! I could barely finish my delicious fries. We had Szabo's seafood truck at our beach party in Narragansett for around 150 people. It was outstanding. The lobster rolls and fried shrimp are some of the best I've ever had. I wanted to write a review on The Little Red Seafood Truck. I had Jury Duty and after five hours I was starving. The Little Red Seafood Truck was the first food I saw when I got out and since I like seafood and the prices weren't bad, I thought I'd give it a shot. I had ten bucks on me and I really wanted the lobster roll, but it was $13 with fries. I settled for the fish taco which came with fries. It was pretty good and the service was as expected. I would definately get it again, however next time I'll have the $13 on me for the lobster roll. read more

We work at a dealership and ordered food there, over 100.00 dollars worth the food was tasteless fish wasn't cooked all the way,the fries had pockets of oil when you bit into it yuk,the lobster bisque had no lobster and was very thick like pudding never again place sucks.
