The Lobster Hut is a food truck located on Boston Post Rd by Vavoline. We went on a Monday morning and they were busy with guests and it also appeared they had several phone orders. The lobster is market price and our order was $115 for two 2 lobster roll combos which included a good amount of crinkle fries and a small container of cole slaw. The lobster rolls were Connecticut-style served warm with butter. The roll was nicely toasted but a little too buttery for me. The lobster was flavorful. The fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. You order at the window and receive a pager to let you know when your order is ready. When we ordered we were advised there would be a wait, and there was. We waited at one of the picnic tables where we observed everyone enjoying their meals. When we picked up our order they apologized for the wait. The Lobster Hut is nothing fancy but well worth a visit for a good lobster roll at a reasonable price.

The people here are very friendly! The lobster rolls are fresh, flavorful and a good size. The food was all fresh and well prepared. I would likely stick to the lobster roll each time because it's the best thing. The onion rings seemed beer battered and delicious. The fries were also good. They keep a porta-potty for customers only and it was very clean and full of sanitizer and paper. We will be back for sure.

Awesome! Who knew shopping in Milford would lead us to this road-side food truck gem! Husband has been majorly craving a lobster roll since his favorite place was less than stellar the last time we went. Knowing this- Yelp helped me find this place so we stopped for a late lunch and so happy we did! Super friendly and helpful service and the most important part- amazingly delicious hot lobster roll.....Worth every penny! The roll was toasted and buttered and the lobster was tender buttery heaven in the middle of it. The lobster was plentiful and a variety of tail and claw meat. It also came with a side of clarified butter for extra dipping if you choose (I did of course- why not?). This really helped satisfy our craving for a lobster roll- it was a home run! The lobster rolls were our main reason for stopping here but there are also other menu options too. Definitely worth another visit when we are in the area for sure and I highly recommend!

Seemingly the most random spot on the road, TLH could be easily missed. However, it's worth a stop! I'm not sure how the cook so much in a tiny trailer, but the menu includes the good stuff: lobster roll, shrimp, fries... our of clams (hard this season). Good, pure lobster roll, though the bun was notably soggy, which was a disappointment. However, don't let that stop you!

Another great spot for a fresh hot lobster roll with butter. Filled with chunks of lobster meat. This is our second year coming. The bun is freshly buttered and toasted. Delish! Our daughter loves the hotdog with the onion rings. Might be coming back next year. Try it! Totally worth it.

One more relevant point to add. There are a number of local restaurants who serve as good or better lobster rolls than The Lobster Hut for the same price, but you get to dine in an air conditioned room, and not have to listen to the at times very loud traffic going by only a few feet away. Since The Lobster Hut doesn't have the same costs to operate as a regular restaurant, why are their prices the same?

They know how to make fried clams and lobster rolls taste so good! I recommend. Nice people too.

When Will Ferrell enters a hypnotic trance in a debate scene concerning the role of government in supporting biotechnology in the movie "Old School", his response was so good, that real life political consultant James Carville had to respond "We have no response. That was perfect." I'm kind of in that position after eating at the Lobster Hut in Milford. The Lobster Hut is what is it. A food trailer that makes seafood like lobster rolls and fried treats, gives you a beeper so you can kill some time, and hand-delivers your food when it's ready. You can dine at one of a few picnic tables or in your car, or you can take it to go. They advertise no frills and deliver no frills. I'm cool with that. My wife and I ordered a twin hot lobster roll platter that came with cole slaw, crinkle cut fries and melted butter for dipping, and a side of clam strips with tartar sauce. I've ordered some variation of this at many, many seafood places. And I almost always find something that doesn't quite measure up. I can't say that about The Lobster Hut. There was a lot of lobster. It was good quality and well cooked. The grilled roll was well managed. The roll already had some butter flavor, and the side of melted butter allowed for customization. The fries were well executed for the crinkle style. The cole slaw, where many good places drop the ball, had good classic cole slaw flavor and texture. The fried clam strips had good color and texture. And the last thing that trips up some seafood places, The Lobster Hut served its own house made tartar sauce rather than packaged Ken's or whatever. The tartar sauce had its own vibe (heavy on relish) and I liked that. I noticed some reviews commented about the cost of the lobster rolls. I get that. They're not cheap, but that's the case everywhere if you're going to a top spot. The Lobster Hut was certainly on par with the other top spots I've tried, which is most of the big CT places. So yeah. "We have no response. That was perfect." Five Stars

Lobster Hut is always fresh and delicious. I've had the lobster roll (5oz). They put the clarified butter on the side so your bread doesn't get soggy. I have had their fried shrimp, clam strips and fries. Everything is fresh and hot. I will continue to eat there while I'm living in this area.

I was a little suss given the location and parking lot. However, after reading the glowing reviews decided to give it a go. I am glad I did, the place did not disappoint. It's a quintessential New England buttery lobster roll. The fries were fresh, hot and salty (perfect IMO), the Cole slaw was great (not too saucy). The rolls come in 4oz or 5oz portions. It was $5 more for the 5oz ($5 for another ounce ‍). I went with the lobster roll plate, which I assume was a 4oz roll with fries and slaw for $30. Worth the price, meh. If there was a better view or ambiance, I could say yes. But it's a legit small food truck in a parking lot on a highway. If I was craving a quality lobster roll, would definitely go back.

Another view of the lobster roll. If only it tasted as good as it looks.

Perhaps my expectations were set to high? I've had some excellent lobster rolls in Connecticut including in Milford restaurants and I've also had some pretty bad lobster rolls. If I'm being honest the lobster roll at the Lobster Hut falls somewhere in between. The lobster lacked flavor. It was completely bland and flavorless. The only thing I could taste was the grilled hot dog roll. I tried adding some more of the butter they provided on the side and that didn't really help. I ordered the platter so it came with French fries and cole slaw. While the cole slaw was good the French fries were your standard frozen Ore Ida crinkle cut fries. They also went a little heavy on the salt. The packaging of the To Go order was top notch. They packaged the fries in a vented cardboard container to minimize the sogginess factor. They wrapped the lobster roll separately. They also provided plenty of napkins, wet wipes and ketchup. Excellent work on packaging. If only the flavor was this good. Given the very high price of the tasteless lobster roll (borderline outrageous) I don't think I'll be going back.

I was in the New Haven, CT area and I decided to check out Lobster Hut. I'm sorry but I wasn't impressed with my EX LARGE LOBSTER ROLL that cost me $26.99. It took me three years of viewing and seeing people yelp photos and raves about this Lobster Hut truck. I also ordered beer battered onion rings $4.99 and they were banging, crunchy and the onions were juicy. The ex-large lobster roll was filled with lobster meat but it wasn't juicy, it was dry chunkiness and felt microwavable. It was Monday and most places you should never attempt on a Monday as your getting leftovers. I had a huge amount of lobster meat and I put it over salad. That meat sat on my chest as a result; . I felt awful and when I woke up for work @ 12:00 am where I usually get up for 1:50 am as my workday starts at 3:30 am. I felt so I felt this way until mid-morning. I feel better now but I know there was nothing else that made me feel this way because I saved my belly for this ex-large lobster roll. I believe my expectations were not met Listen I don't think that their awful as a food truck I just think I came on a Monday and Monday's aren't the best day for food trucks or restaurants, that's just my opinion. Until my next #YELP #FOODIE #ADVENTURE #4THELOVEOFFOOD.

Very pricey for mediocre lobster rolls. The fries are great! Perhaps they are better in season.

Having personally worked at a fairly decent, though not great, pizzeria I have a firsthand understanding of the difference between a decent pie and a truly great pie. It's not much of a secret. The main difference is in the crust. The dough recipe used by the TFUPT, when cooked in their wood fire brick oven, achieves the perfect balance between crispiness and chewiness, without being too bready yet still immensely flavorful. This essential characteristic that epitomizes the New Haven style of pizza has unfortunately become rare and inconsistent, even on Wooster Street these days. For the record, TFUPT is New Haven Style Apizza done right, and their pizza is as good if not better than any of the big three (Pepe's, Sally's, Modern). On top of having one of the best crusts I have ever tasted, each pie uses top quality cheeses and toppings. Furthermore, they have an innovative disposition as evidenced by their dessert pies. At first I was skeptical, but they won me over their pizza topped with cannoli filling. My only criticism of TFUPT is that there is no way to simply order a few pies from them. If they had a restaurant location I would definitely become a regular. Until then, I strongly recommend this pizza truck to anyone having a party.
