Roger takes great care of my entire property and its contents. He has helped me plant other trees, move things, removed a few trees that lived out their life expectancy and has been really good to me and my yard. He is extremely knowledgeable, a certified Arborist and a really nice person. Lots of others have tried to get my business but I'm sticking with Tree Force. I have mixed feelings about the work that was done. We hired him to put in concrete in the backyard…read moreof our new build and was relying on his expertise as to what would be the best set up. He came by and took initial measurements and said he would provide drawings of what he would do. I never received the drawings. I don't know why he decided to move the drains out to the sides instead of leaving them in the middle. As you can see in the pictures, now there's areas where water pools where if there was a drain there wouldn't be an issue. I'm also surprised he didn't put a drain where the pipe for the water tank comes out, which is causing discoloration. These are things that I expected an expert to know about and to provide upfront. Now that the concrete is put in it's too late to have the drains installed in the middle. Btw moving the drains to the sides was an extra $1k. We also added the concrete path to the front of the house, and when he did that he cut the water pipe so now there's a dead patch. He didn't consult with us prior and that was not something that was agreed upon. Now comes the payments. He asks for payments in installments up front. Reason being that he said he needs to pay for the materials and his workers. I have always heard that you should never pay and should wait until work is done, but he seemed trustworthy and it was in installments so I didn't have too much of a problem with that. These were paid via checks. When it came time to pour the concrete, I was told it would be a certain amount and I provided payment directly to the concrete company. Later on after it was done, I was overcharged and I asked him to call them to verify and ask why the difference. He never followed up with them. Luckily this was through my credit card so I was able to submit a dispute. When we gave him the final check, there were some remaining items that he still had to take care of before the project was completed. I had to keep texting him to ask when he would be back to finish the job. It took weeks since he kept pushing his schedule out. My overall sentiment is that this was just an OK result. I do appreciate that him and his team worked during the summer through the 100 degree weather to get this done. But at the same time, I'm not too happy with the drainage system that they did.

Doug and his assistant redid our landscape in the front and back yards. I had vetted five different…read morelandscapers and really liked Doug. He was easy to communicate with, down-to-earth. He came through a referral which was a bonus. However, there were a number of issues. After he provided a quote, he was difficult to get a hold of, but since he came through a referral (and I liked him based on our initial meeting), I still decided to move forward with him. Three (!) months passed between when we signed the contract, to when he started the job. First he said he was sick, then it was difficult to get the plants. At least, it seemed like he did a good job installing the new plants. Our 90-day warranty walk-through date came around, and I pinged him. He responded promptly and came to do the walk-through. A few plants had died, and even though he said he would replace them per the warranty, he never did. We also had issues with our new ground covering, which he said he would research and get back to us, and he never did. I tried getting in touch with him for two months after the walk-through, but he never responded. What started out as a (more or less) positive experience ended really sourly.

Most of the plants have died including a magnolia tree that was planted in an underground spring (Mark installed the irrigation system) or eaten by deer (he assured us that all plants were deer-proof). He has not returned to check on his work or responded to our questions or concerns. My husband and I are senior citizens and should have done a more in-depth reference check.

Do not hire Eric Lozano for large projects. He cannot handle them…read more I hired Eric for a major install - 368 plants and trees across the front, back, and side yards. A month and a half and $53,000 later all together, his explanation for the drop-off in his work was that he wasn't making enough money on the job. I've worked with many landscapers, and early on I saw real potential in him. But at some point the project shifted. His attitude turned, and everything went downhill from there. I have never had so many issues before. One thing to know up front: Eric doesn't actually do the irrigation himself. He pays another company to come do it for him. He installed the WiFi irrigation system on the final day and has since failed to provide any post-project support. Plants in both the front and back are dying, and his lack of urgency - during the job and especially after payment - has been alarming. He didn't plant the Cypress trees in time, and the heat killed them. He refused to cover the loss, so I paid out of pocket. The week after the project "wrapped," I tested the irrigation system through the app and manually. Many of the valves had no names, and when I ran them, no water reached most of the backyard. I manually opened every valve to confirm - nothing was getting to the plants. I sent Eric photos and a clear list of concerns and asked him to come today Sunday. He said maybe Monday night. That is his response to roughly $13,000 worth of plants on the line. I asked him to redo the pergola pavers - just power wash them, clean out the grout, and apply sand. He didn't remove the masking properly. He laid sand on top of the mask and spread grout sand all over my turf. I had specifically asked him to do this before my turf was installed, but he insisted it had to be done after. Now I have grout sand all over my brand-new turf. The front lighting is another mess. While planting the trees, his crew cut both low-voltage lines from the back and couldn't get them working properly again. The lamps he had approved for low-voltage suddenly stopped working on low-voltage, so he ended up installing standard hard wiring instead - and I had to pay for it. Now the front of my house runs on regular voltage: far brighter than I ever wanted, and more expensive to keep up. On reliability and punctuality: he repeatedly committed to showing up at specific times, during and after the project, and simply never came. On competence: I had to repeat my to-do list constantly - almost daily, in person and by text. Many tasks never got done at all, like installing actual drip lines at the root of each plant. My read is that he doesn't track what he owes the client, counting on them to forget - something I caught more than once. Instead of proper drip, he installed cheap brown perforated hose, which is not the same thing. I also asked for two bubblers per tree; many trees have only one, and the water barely comes out. On professionalism: there has been real disrespect - telling me I "can't have everything perfect" and laughing off my concerns. At this point, I have no confidence he will come back for post-project support or fix things properly. I'll likely have to hire a specialized irrigation company to go over all of his work and make sure my plants don't die. Update: I had a total of almost $2k of plants lost due to poor or missing irrigation. Eric refused to pay for them, and stopped answering calls.

I had called another company in town with over a hundred reviews and was told they couldn't even come for an estimate for two weeks. Eric will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with his work!
