Reading a previous review, looks like being a NO SHOW is a habit, even for ppl he had previously worked for. I am very glad I was able to contact someone else to do a same-day pick up else I would have been in a very bad position as I needed to vacate the house. I understand appts have to be canceled sometimes but common courtesy is to let someone know you're canceling or at least reply that you're not showing up.

The quality of work was good and I felt like we paid a more than fair price, but when we asked Lavern to come back he scheduled time and missed appointments again and again and now just doesn't reply, so I guess I have to move on to another service that will show up and return calls. 3 stars because if you get them they'll do good work, but not returning messages and no shows are almost as bad as not doing the work at all. We've had our fun with contractors and various people but we are very happy with the work Lavern and Antonio completed yesterday. I had a laundry list that I was given a fair quote for, and as things go, by the time they got here the how and what had changed a little bit but Lavern and Antonio knocked it all out. southwest van lines and brightside brokers together form as close to a scam as possible. they…read morestarted out, weeks before the move giving me an estimate of around $8000 for the pack out, move and destination unload. they charged me over $2000 for the down payment to hold our requested move date. the move was from Texas to Indiana. we were finally buying our home. a few weeks later they called and wanted to do a video tour through our house. we did so and they said it would be more like $11,000. I couldn't get my money back so I paid them an additional $5000. on the day of the move, southwest van lines showed up and demanded another$16000. $8000 today and another $8000 upon delivery at the destination. we didn't have any more money so brightside agreed to give the movers $3500 of my last payment at the destination. Again, there was no way to get any of my money back and everything for the relinquishment and cleaning of the current rental property was already scheduled. on the day of delivery, they showed up with a semi- truck and were unable to navigate the alley where we wanted our belongings delivered. they did not want to move the stuff across the back yard to the garage. then we had to pick up 2 rental trucks for them to empty the semi into. the semi was not full. it had 2 other households on board as well. they sloppily stuffed our stuff into the 2 trucks. then they tried to get more money for being there too long. the worse part of it all was that they took so much money from me that I didn't have anything left for the down payment for the home I was planning to buy. also much to our dismay, they left about a room full of stuff at the original home. they just didn't take a lot of stuff. no reason. just didn't. I was an air force wife for twenty years and I've had all kinds of moves. this wasn't a move it was a nightmare. save yourself the struggle and don't use bright side moving brokers or southwest van lines.
