The staff seemed very friendly and helpful. The owner actually is there in person working with the employees and is an absolute sweetheart. The store itself is organized pretty efficiently and I've found it pretty easy to find what I was looking for. Love this place overall and would definitely recommend it!

I'll start off by saying that my wife and I came here on a Friday at the beginning of the summer to actually sit and have dinner, which turned out to be quite a tasty treat. The interior of FIV has a somewhat rustic/beachy vibe that works well for its Bay Shore location and feels at home on Long Island. It's got a nice bar and a decent seating area where we pulled up a table and were helped by the staff who were friendly and attentive. Besides the importance of good feels from the workers, the food and drink is where it might matter most and Fire Island Vines doesn't fall short of doing this. With a somewhat Mediterranean/Greek/Italian direction to their foods you'll find some delicious dips (spicy feta, hummus), savory chicken skewers, and crispy pizzettes which was just about everything we ordered. There's much more than that here and of course plenty of chances to wine while you dine. I instead ventured to the house sangria which was delightful while the wife had a concocted mocktail she really enjoyed. And, therein lies the biggest hint to why FIV will mean a lot more to us in just a few months as my wife and I are expecting our first child and the baby shower is planned for right here within these walls. So far all planning has been fantastic and owner Angelo has been very kind and accommodating. We're looking forward to our full festivities, but for now I'll wrap things up by saying this spot will be holding a special place in our hearts and so I wanted it to be my 1,000th review on Yelp to be even more memorable. With all that in mind (and trying not to get too sentimental on Yelp!), check out Fire Island Vines for some weekend dinner or an event and be ready for some greatness.

I made eye contact with one and immediately felt like I had interrupted something deeply unpleasant. I ordered the house special. One sip in and I knew this was not a beverage. It tasted like a soggy shoebox dusted with expired glitter, with subtle undertones of something medically concerning. Before I could even put the glass down, my left ear began to vibrate like a shifting tectonic plate. I tried to stand up, but my legs had decided they were no longer on speaking terms with my torso. I eventually had to crawl out the establishment like a disgraced salamander. My skin still tastes like lead and the lights gave me a migraine in a color that doesn't exist.
