DO NOT MOVE HERE. I moved here thinking I was going to get peace and quite and away from DTLA, where it tends be be noisier. Its actually the complete opposite. 1) Constant train the goes by day & night so you cant sleep 2) You can hear the noise from all the surrounding bars & breweries 3) The construction/renovations they do I'm on the top floor and thought I wouldn't hear anything but the maintenance / outside vendors (i.e. painters) guys constantly roam on roof with the equipment during the day. It's pounding like an earthquake. Lastly there are no EV charging stations available, no storage units, the elevators and hot tub are always broken. Management (Greystar) is a revolving door here. Monika who was my leasing agent and sold me my unit left before I moved in. Then I dealt with the Leasing Manager McKynzie after and then a few months in she disappeared too. My neighbors who have been here longer also had nothing positive to say about the constant management rotation, their management bench is worse than the Dodgers bullpen. read more

Applied here almost a year ago and am still dealing with billing issues. I applied for an apartment here a year ago. Paid 2 application fees and a holding fee and decided to not live at the apartment. The leasing office never gave me back my holding fee. I emailed them numerous times to get the check back but it never came. A women named McKynzie told me to just dispute the charges which is obviously the wrong choice. I ended up collecting debt of almost $170 from disputing this holding fee and when I called to ask why this was the case, McKynzie was no longer there. Please save yourself the trouble of living here or even applying. read more

I had the exact same experience as Zoe T's review. Living here was generally fine, but I dealt with an extremely loud neighbor above me, thin walls, and a persistent bug problem. I lived on the 3rd floor by the courtyard, and while I expected the occasional bug, the amount was absurd. I once even woke up with one crawling on my back. Despite repeatedly asking maintenance to address the issue, it wasn't fully resolved. I ended up spending $100 to caulk the entire apartment and using bug repellent monthly, which finally minimized the issue. On top of that, after dealing with constant problems, I only received $49 back from my deposit, even though I left the place in better condition than when I moved in. While this place might look nice from the outside, it has numerous internal issues. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

I've been living at the Llewellyn apartments for almost a year now and I think it's a good amount of time to be able to give this place a solid review. When I first came here, I already fell in love with the place. It's far enough away from Downtown to feel like I'm away but also close enough to explore whenever I need to. It's right across from the beautiful LA Historic Park and HP Brewery next door. Both amazing but also can be rough as there's plenty of parking unless if there's an event at the park or the brewery has a good amount of people. Kimberly is the one who gave me, my roommate and my husband the tour. She was very sweet and professional so when I read the reviews, I'm actually pretty surprised how badly people speak of her. I have personally sent her emails regarding people leaving trash in the garage and when the elevators are broken and she handles issues right away and responds to my emails quickly. Anyways, the day of the tour, she gave us the chance to see two units and eventually we ended up signing papers to move in. She followed up with us on the things we needed to do to move in, and also helped us with any issues we had. I recall my roommate having an issue with his charging port for his car-granted it took a while to get it resolved-not sure why, but after we told Kimberly the issue-she got to it right away. She also seems like she wants to personally get to know each and every resident every time I see her. As far as the place goes, they have very nice amenities. I've used the gym, the pool/jacuzzi, the session room, rooftop, and the community room. All add value to my stay here. Granted I don't know how to use the television since the system installed doesn't seem user friendly, but overall I've enjoyed the gym and the pool/jacuzzi weekly. As mentioned by the other tenants, the package room though is a nightmare. They had a system where it was just so hard to find packages and even though they've changed it-it still can be difficult to find cause there's just so many tenants and people just get things delivered...it's just not my favorite thing about this place. I personally like the security people here. They're all very nice and keeps this place safe. I wish they could give us ten more minutes at the jacuzzi at the end of the evening but I get it. It's for the other tenants and to respect their quiet time... The one thing though that is a big upsetting is the elevators are broken quit a bit. The D elevator has been down for quite some time and someone just decided to break the sensor in one of the other elevators. You'd think the tenants here would take care of the building but man, some people are savages. It's crazy how things break. One thing I do love about this place are the community events they have for us. They're very creative and will have taco and movie nights. One time they had a chef come in to teach us how to cook a specific dish for the residents. And it's just overall a great experience to bring people together. Overall I give this place a 4/5 stars. Not every place is going to be perfect but I do love this apartment complex. I've had good experiences so far during my stay here at Llewellyn. read more

I've been living here with my family for almost a year in a half. Honestly, Llewellyn is a total gem! The rooftop? A dream. Pool, jacuzzi, and the 24/7 gym? Always spot on. I'm loving the coworking space, and shoutout to the team for keeping everything so clean. The grills are always ready to go, and it's super convenient having LA Historic State park next door. My daughter was born last August and the staff has watched her grow. Highly recommend this place for new families because all the amenities make it convenient to bring your baby out without the hassle of driving far. Big thanks to Kimberly -- she's always on point, friendly, and quick to help out, even when swamped. I just moved in from another building in arts district- my partner and I have been here for a bit less than a month and so far so good! Michelle has been super responsive to all our needs! Angel has also been great- there was some confusion during our move in but he was there to sort it all out, very understanding and accommodating. They even said that the mail and package system was a mess before we moved in but it looks like everything's pretty well managed! To be honest, mail and packages are an issue at a lot of buildings but from the looks of it, it's not bad at all here. The only thing I feel like that could be tough for some tenants is that one time when I was moving, there were other people moving in too- so all the elevators were being closed off and reserved for them. Great for the people moving in since I see how that's super convenient, but it can be tough lol. All the amenities look great, can't wait to use the pool during the warmer months since we get a great view of DTLA, and Chinatown is in walking distance so it's super convenient to get a quick meal there. LA historic park is right next to us so we get to host pregames for events we go to there lol and all the concerts end around 10 or 11pm, so it's not like we're trying to sleep through the event. I visited LLEWELLYN for a tour and was sorely disappointed to find poo and piss along the sidewalk even before entering the building. I also saw parked along the street with their windows broken as well. As for the tour, it was decent, nothing brand new compared to the general rundowns for how apartments work. The individual giving me the tour (a man about 5 foot and 6 inches in height approximately) mentioned he will be providing a recap over email. It's been several weeks and I have not heard from him. I'd like to believe that the 1-star reviews here are just bad experiences and luck, but if I am experiencing numerous things, from the appearances of the sidewalks, apartments, and lack of attentiveness / delivery from the employees here, it makes me less confident in being a renter at this facility. read more

I wanted to give a personal thank you to Eddie, my technician at Llewellyn. He has gone above and beyond to make sure I've been well taken care of. This year, I experienced a frustrating malfunction with my laundry washer that stretched out for over a week. While I was talking to staff, I kept getting connected to different people and my service request was left neglected on the portal. However, Eddie and Marco really helped out by opening a spare unit to give me access to the laundry machine while they were waiting for the replacement to come in. After I was assigned Eddie as my technician, he checked in with me every step of the way and explained to me what tests he would run on the washer. I really appreciated the transparency in his communication, his professionalism, and the knowledge he brought to the table. Every time I've been assigned to Eddie as my technician, he helps get the job done. Seriously among the top 1% of technicians I've ever worked with. This guy needs a raise! read more

I have been living at Llewellyn for a little over a year and here is my honest review. Location - Located right next to the LA Historic Park. I've seen them have farmer's markets, festivals, game nights, movie nights, yoga on the park, etc. It's super cool, and Llewellyn is always notifying us of any upcoming event to prep us for noise + traffic. They also give away FREE tickets to shows at the park. It's away from DTLA by a few blocks but you don't see the homeless and crime activity that you tend to see in the heart of DTLA. There are a couple of breweries within steps of the building and my favorite bar Apotheke is located walking distance from here. Location is the main reason why I chose Llewellyn and have not regretted it. 10/10. Staff - The leasing office has some of the better vibes that I have experienced, especially coming from my previous building. It seems like they have a great working relationship and all care for their job. I have met Angel and they all have a great attitude. Cleanliness - no complaints here! They have a group of very nice porters who clean every day and power wash the sidewalks. We had an issue with someone who was letting their dog pee in the C building elevator for a while but management sent constant messages out to the community and put notices on the elevator. This has nothing to do with the building but more about the people that allow their pets to do this. Overall building - Yes you can hear your upstairs neighbor walking above you but it's nothing out of the ordinary. I have been renting for 9 years and the noises that you would hear here are pretty standard. The D building elevator was down for about a month but from what I understand, the building's elevator people were waiting on a part and the elevator has not been down since. It was a bit of an inconvenience but the C building elevator is 2 mins away. The building sent out messages every so often and their service people sent an apology letter to everyone for the delay. The apartments are very nice here and very updated. Our washer and dryer is HUGE and I have lots of space for my furniture. I have never lived at a building where I have made so many friends! They have events for everyone every month or so. Last month they had a happy hour and the month before that I think that they had a movie night. They recently added more racks to the package room and they label each package with the given apartment number. This makes if VERY easy to get my package. I give this place 5 stars because of quality of life that I get living here. I recommended my best friend to move-in and she is moving in before the end of the year. read more

In addition, Carlos and Eddie in maintenance are consistently efficient, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful -- I'm convinced there is nothing they can't fix! At the time of moving when Kimberly was there everything went well. We signed right away because we fell in love with the place, amenities, and everything. Dan in the security team was very helpful. Unfortunately, we had to move due to job commute but we definitely recommend and enjoyed this apartment complex. The move out was very smooth we had a minor hiccup but, on the second email we were able to receive our deposit. So sad we had to move, even our child misses this place so bad. read more

My partner and I have lived in 3 other apartments before this and I'd have to say this is one of the better ones! I noticed a lot of bad reviews are from just the touring/application portion, and I would have to agree. The initial tour was nice, but having the front leasing office follow up with you was a bit tedious. We had to follow up A LOT. I just think they're definitely overloaded. In fact, my brother in law and cousin both had issues applying here, lol. BUT! once we finally settled in, which was when they first opened (the other parts of the building were still in construction!), the experience was pleasant. We're moving out end of this month so I want to share my experience! SHOUT OUT TO DANIEL AND ALBERT, Our favorite front security guys (WELL MISS YOU!) . There was a lot of turnover with the front security, but those two were always so helpful and have probably stuck around the longest? Haha Also, idk why Kim has such bad reviews she's always been sweet and helpful as well. She's doin her best! Idk if Angel is still manager there, but he's been patient and accommodating with all of our requests. Mailroom in EVERY apartment is a nightmare, but I'd have to say Llewellyn has really improved their organization system with bins and shelves. It still gets crazy when it piles up, but I can see they're putting in the effort. The gym was great! It had a bench, smith machine, free weights, bunch of other machines, treadmills.. they don't have a squat rack but you can still make do. Not a lot of people go in the morning so that was the best time to go. Also, there's a few of personal trainers in the gym that you'll always see so you can probably hit them help for some help! Haha I do have to say though, if you are the type of person to run outside, it does feel a bit.. unsafe. I would not do so unless you just go to the park across the street. I love their coworking space, just wish they had more desks at sitting height to work on your laptop. The other amenities are nice (pool, pet station, bike room, studio, lounge), but was not used as often as we should have We were able to get our own parking spot with charging which was convenient. Wish there was more visitor parking, but there is some on the street. Just be aware street parking is next to none when there is an event at the LA State Historic Park! The walls are a bit thin, but that's to be expected from apartments? It probably helped that our spot was a corner space with only one neighbor on the side. Idk why our upstairs neighbor was always running a marathon tho. Llewellyn is cute sometimes and would hold events for holidays or just because like outdoor movie nights. Every Wednesday they would have a food truck outside which we finally got to try once in our 2 years here haha We would always get text messages threatening to charge for people's pets peeing and pooping everywhere, but honestly HAVE THEY?! bc we do see the occasional pee in the elevator :) Alrightttt I think that's it. I am removing 2 stars because of Kimberly Lalor, the leasing agent, is a rude woman. Had the displeasure of meeting her to tour the apartments. I watched her snap at and behave aggressively to current residents. She also interrupts them. Not a good look for people like me who are checking out the building to see if it's viable. She also rudely pointed in the face of other people inside the lobby which was a huge turn off to everyone in the lobby. Personally, her behavior was why I passed on this place. My logic is, if she is that way with tenants in front of others, she must be terrible in private. The other leasing agent I met with is a sweetheart and lights up a room. However, Kimberly brings down the vibe and positivity of the lobby, and the tour with her negative behavior and demeanor. I am avoiding this place due to watching how Kimberly treats residents in front of prospective tenants. Otherwise: Would be a decent buildings if you don't mind the obviously in the midst of gentrifying location. Apartment only has trash collection and the walls are a bit thin for luxury. I originally enjoyed being a part of this community but lately, it's been getting a bit hectic. Originally, when I moved in, the spots for parking they originally gave to us had two unauthorized cars parked it in, it took 4-5 switches of spots the same day we were moving in to finally find an open spot. However, this new spot is now located on the complete opposite side of where our apartment unit is. When we asked if we could be notified of any closer parking spots, the leasing agent had told us that unless we had a valid medical reason, she wouldn't change our spot. But prior to this, due to their own mistakes and not any of our fault, they changed our spot multiple times in the same day, the same day we were moving in, so we were already pretty stressed. I tried following up via email about this but I never got a response. For reference, our parking spot is in building A but we live in building D, which is fine when I don't have anything to bring to or from the car, but can get really difficult once I do actually have some things to bring over. Secondly, I was told this was a pet friendly apartment. This was one of the questions I asked prior to signing the lease. I do enjoy sitting out in the courtyards with my dog every now and then to allow him to get some fresh air. Of course, I also understand pet etiquete so I always walk him prior to doing this to ensure no accidents occur while we're in public space. Recently, now I was told pets aren't allowed in common spaces, when this whole time I've been operating under the understanding that it was allowable so long as you're able to keep your pet under control, on leash, and respect the common spaces, which is sad. Like, I'd understand the pool area, but the courtyards too?? Lastly, this is less on management and more so on other tenants but there is constantly dog poop on the side walks because of others who don't clean up. Also, the walls are relatively thin. My neighbors are pretty calm but I can still hear footsteps from the unit above me. I have enjoyed living across the park though. There's always something going on every week but it has been pretty busy with all the summer events and street parking can be a bit hectic for guests that visit me. read more

I lived in the D Building (closer to the park) for the first complete year that this building (D) was open. This was experience through out my ONE YEAR here. I moved in November of 2021.... the first rain we got, flooded the D building ground floor entrance and several other apartments on the ground level (poor construction). They ultimately fixed it an demolished a portion of the ground entrance for the water flow to go away from the building. Amenities- It seemed as if none of the TVs ever worked properly or at all through out the amenities areas of the complex. The pool and jacuzzi are both small. The pet wash area is ehhh, out of service currently as I write this. Elevator in the D Building is always breaking down... it's been down for about a month now. Management keeps telling us sorry about this issue but they are working on resolving it. Seems like they just put Bandaids on it with out fixing the root problem. Service requests.. they are pretty timely about your requests so no issues there. Cleanliness- seems like they are very understaffed, we appreciate those that are working as we can see that they are very understaffed . Trash shoot areas and dumpster areas are filthy, once again.. it's hard to keep up with the cleaning when you're understaffed. There should be trash cans next to every elevator from the garage... can't believe how gross and lazy some people are that they leave their trash out for someone else to pick up.. seems like entitled POS. Pricing... it's DTLA and a luxury apt the rates are pretty standard for the area... but definitely not worth what you pay if everything is always broken. The best thing about this complex is that it's next to the LA Historic Park, and away from the craziness of DTLA. Aside from that, too much wrong going on here for a building that's been open for less than 2 years. Staff- they did the best they could with what they had. Very friendly and tried their best to make best of the situation. It's not their fault that the building was poorly constructed and poorly put together. I will not be renewing my lease as their growing pains are too much for now. read more

I would advise against applying to this apartment complex. I have been waiting for 2 months for my returned deposit check. My emails have gone unanswered and last time I called, Kimberly only picked up when I called from a different phone number. I have about 30 unanswered calls to this place. This is completely unprofessional and I can only imagine the lack of attention you'll receive if you actually sign a lease and are living there. Not to mentioned the application process was horrendous and drawn out for weeks. The staff here is very unprofessional and extremely difficult to work with and get in contact with. I've been living at Llewellyn with my family for 8 months now and here is my honest review. The property is a hidden gem. It has all the amenities you could possible ask for and them some. The maintenance staff are very diligent at keeping these common areas clean and spotless. When comparing our experience at this property to our previous apartment in DTLA, my wife and I were shocked and extremely impressed with how the management and staff are on top of everything to ensure you always have a safe and inviting experience when you come home. I also want to give a big thank you to Kimberly. Throughout the entire process she was patient, attentive and very responsive. I definitely did not make the process easy for her by constantly asking for favors and questions to clarify all the details on my lease. She was very patient and willing to clarify all my concerns and accommodate as many favors as she could before any formal paperwork was signed. I would not be a resident here, if it wasn't for the phenomenal service that Kimberly provided. Another person who deserves a ton of credit for the success of this property is the property manager, Angel. He is easily accessible and very approachable for any issues that may arise as a resident. The management and staff are present on the property everyday except for Sunday, which means that there is always someone to attend to you. Lastly, it's no secret that the location of the property is questionable on one side but extremely desirable on the other. The security team on site has been phenomenal at not only making sure the property rules are followed but also to ensure no questionable characters are lingering around the property. The property is heavily surveilled and we have had no issues or run ins during our time here. If you are looking for a luxury property that works with a variety of budgets, and boasts a phenomenal amenities for young adults and growing families, this is your place! I'm excited to be moving to Llewellyn. I'm very picky about my view because i'll be coming from a high rise apartment. Michael in leasing gave me a virtual tour and pictures of all the views in the building so I picked my unit based off that. I'm also excited to be living next to some of my favorite places like Highland Park Brewery, apotheke bar, Howlin Rays, burgerlords, majordomo and all the Chinese food restaurants. Llewellyn is also across the street from the new LA historic park. It looks clean and perfect to take my dog on a walk every day, which is something I hate doing at my current apartment because residents don't pick up after their pets in the dog park.
