Gwesty Cymru served us one of the very best meals (in our case, lunch) that we ate in Wales. Oh,…read moremy! Just thinking about it makes me wish it were closer so that we could visit more often. The chef knows how to layer subtle flavors so that the dish ends up surpassing the ingredients he (or she?) uses. I ordered the £9.95 "Meal Deal" of Risotto, but this had to be the best Risotto I've ever eaten. Other family members ordered a plate of prawns, smoked salmon and soup (£10.95), and a rarebit and soup (£6.95). We shared a cheese platter (£8.50) for dessert. Every bite was exquisite. Our server, Huw, also deserves high praise. He understands fine dining, met our every need, and deserved a nice tip, which we were more than happy to leave.
