He threw in a few free things for me and my groomsmen because I bought a suit through him. Suit was sized and tailored to my size and this is the only place with an in house tailor. Highly recommend Steve!

When I find places like the haberdasher, it does a couple of things. First, it gives me continued…read morefaith in humanity and it also gives me greater faith in the free enterprise system! Mr. Goodwin, the dapper proprietor of the establishment is a super cool, super chill gentleman who has an eye for fashion and takes really good care of his customers! He's like a modernized version of the monopoly guy, sans the pretentious monocle. That said, he's the dude who could pull off a top hat and monocle with the sophistication of not the monopoly guy! This place is a small storefront just off Yakima Avenue, that apparently has been here for 20 years. He worked at Nordstrom for many years, and now has officially been open doing his own gig for longer than he worked at Nordstrom! He specializes in helping gentlemen look their best. They carry an incredible selection of shirts, ties, pants, suits and accoutrements including hats, scarves and cuff links. Everything is custom tailored and included in the price - as he says, "This isn't men's warehouse"! Everything here is definitely on the pricey end, but as with most things, you're paying for quality and for a bit of customization. It's the sort of place that when you stop by before a wedding or get together, he'll hook you up with exactly what you need and make sure you look like a boss doing it! Perhaps the best thing about this place however, was the fact that while I was in there, there must've been five or seven people who wakes through that he knew by name and knew exactly the sort of stuff they'd be looking for. Is the big box stores continue to struggle, it's places like this they should continue to do well. Impeccable service, a great vibe, wonderful selection and a dude who's really paying attention and making sure he gets things right - hard to ask for anything more!

I'm not sure who the current version of the Fresh Prince is, but whoever they are, this is probably…read morethe place where they would shop if they lived in Yakima! This is definitely the spot to go when you're interested in new clothing trends, classic and new shoes as well as plenty of vintage items like jackets and jerseys. I came in on a random Monday afternoon and found a number of things that immediately peaked my interest, despite not being a particularly well dressed individual. With my 30th percentile looks and 15th percentile charm, any help I can get is always appreciated! With styles ranging from those of a skate shop, which this also is, all the way to trends that make any trendsetter jealous, they've got just about anything that you're looking for within the genre. I picked up a pair of shorts which quickly work their way into my rotation. I also saw some old-school Reebok pumps, which may be something that I need to get in the near future. The dude running the place is super chill and does a great Job of staying up on trends both new and retro. In the same way that the haberdasher brings a very cool spot for final clothing, this place brings a real for anyone looking for some good street gear!

The first thing I noticed about this place is that most of the items they have are in good shape and there was very little junk. There are plenty of antique stores where most of the items are just trash found in an attic that folks assume is valuable. Here, it looks like everything is brought in by different vendors and then priced - I love this aspect of capitalism! Incentivizing people to bring their best stuff and promoting competition. Items ranged from farmhouse type antiques, all the way down to a small children section. We found a cat in the hat Dr. Seuss dictionary that was pretty legit. They also had more recent options like beanie babies as well as some antique themed novelty shirts. What we didn't find anything that we absolutely needed at home, there were plenty of options and this is definitely the sort of place that I will probably run through when I'm downtown and have a couple extra minutes. Well worth checking out.
