They have two (more current) five star reviews, both short and disqualified by Yelp's AI. The one star review was a little confusing, mentioning a drop-off in Athens and a pickup in Ardmore, yet this location isn't really Athens (technically by mail delivery perhaps). Maybe they moved? I decided to give them a shot. Besides, seven years is a long time for a legitimate one star business to survive. Nestled at the corner of Capshaw and East Limestone Road, the sign on the door says "Same Day Service." That concerned me a little because this time I was actually proactive (for a change) and not in a rush. I didn't want to pay more for same day service when I didn't need it. Not a problem, though--their default service is a 48-hour turn around. I dropped off on Monday and was told with confidence that I could pickup Wednesday afternoon. That works for me as long as the dry cleaning time doesn't turn out days late like many Amazon deliveries :). I dropped off a suit, shirt, and additional sports coat for cleaning. Starch on the shirt for crisp creases that stay. They gave me two pickup tickets (one for the suit--my son's) and one for the sports coat (mine). Very observant of them! Friday visit--I wasn't notified that my stuff was ready for pickup, but it had been ready as promised. Small-town, the lady remembered me. I had my tickets, but didn't really need them to pickup my stuff. The suit, shirt, and coat was $22. They did a fantastic job on all articles. I'm a happy customer. I am giving Calvin's Cleaners five stars because 1) I like to shop local/home town, 2) they did a fantastic job, 3) very convenient location, 4) decent price, 5) good customer service, and 6) somebody needed to start the process of making right on the travesty of a one star Yelp rating. Calvin's Cleaners has my dry cleaning business from this point forward.

Took my rain coat to be dry cleaned which had lip gloss on the front and it came out like a breeze (no I wasn't smooching on myself!) There are a lot of dry cleaning options, and CC is legit. If they weren't 6 miles off my beaten path I would use them more often.

(Alterations cost was much too expensive, so I decided not to). Went back the following day to pick up dry cleaning, which was ready as promised; she then gave a total that was $24 more than the original cost ($66). Unfortunately, I didn't read the reviews before initially taking my clothes (recommended by a friend), and fortunately I did before going back. As a new customer, I was hoping this place would work out, but the up charge was 1st; Then the lies that she never gave me the total of each piece before coming in, then the new verbal policy, that was never mentioned, that it's an additional charge for rhinestones, etc., on the clothing. We went back and forth as I challenged every lie until she wanted to give a 10% discount, which was not acceptable. Finally, she agreed to the original total given to m; she took my money, no apologies, no thank you for your service, no have a nice day, nothing. Reviews are very important of what to expect, good or bad. I let my guard down by not reading them first because of a recommendation, especially since I'm always writing reviews myself. Be careful. That was my 1st and last time going to Joy's!
