Rude and act as if she had an attitude I didn't understand her. I simply called and I asked her if she would be able to Tailor my graduation gown, and she agreed took it in there. she was on the phone whenever I walked in out of respect, I didn't want to interrupt her conversation then I had proceeded to tell her what I wanted, when she laid the phone down and then she suggest what I should do, and afterwards she only pinned, and she was only gonna just do a couple of stitches to the side, then Told me that she would charge me $30 for it which I thought it was too much for what I was willing to pay for however, if someone else wanted to pay that that's on them those are her prices but as soon as I decided that I wasn't going to go with her, she continue to be rude even out the door. I've been coming to Sun's for about a year and have always had a great experience. Dry cleaning is about as cheap as it gets ($2.50 for a shirt, I think) and even the most difficult of repairs have always been done well and timely (ripped pants off-seam was $9 and done in about 3 days, I had two other places that told me they couldn't fix it but Sun's did a fantastic job). First time I came here for suit fitting and was told given straight answers on what and how to tailor, even with some pieces being left untouched at their expense. One tip: I believe they have a $10 credit card minimum. Could be $20 but ether way there's an ATM next door at Krogers. read more

The owner was rude and dismissive and made me try on the dress so she could say "n No I can't do that". There was no attempt to discuss alternatives just no and walked away. I've done enough sewing to know the dress can be shortened without having to lose the beading but she couldn't be bothered. I wouldn't ever refer this business to anyone unless you enjoy being treated like you just wasted her time showing up. read more

I don't understand the negative reviews. The owner has always been very nice and helpful. She knows her stuff so, when she says you may not be able to get exactly what you want, trust her! She always tries to meet my requested turn around time and once shortened the sleeves on a tuxedo jacket for my son in one day! I have always been pleased with their work. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY BEING TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF & talked to in a condescending manner. I paid $40 to have an inch taken in.... AKA cut-out a 2" x 1" triangle and sew it shut. I had a simple dress, no beading. She gave me a quote of $20 & doubled the price when I picked it up. There are no prices displayed. You are at their MERCY. I paid $40 to tailor a $60 dress. I should have RAN the moment I walked in. She asked when I needed it by. I replied "5 days". She exclaimed as if I requesting a couture bridal gown. I felt like I was being scolded by an overbearing critical grandma. She then dissed my dress. Calling it a "spring dress" not really for "winter" formal. Ummm I didn't ask your opinion. She was SO negative & condescending. I should've known she would be difficult to work with. You're PAYING a bundle to be treated like CRAP.. I watched her interact with 2 other customers she took measurements for. She's so mean it's uncomfortable to watch!! She slapped a girl's hand & asked why she didn't bring heels to try on with the dress. A girl simply wanted a chiffon bridesmaid gown hemmed 2". The seamstress turned it into a complex ordeal. The girl was trying to say what she wanted & the lady was trying to steer her in a different direction. She was argumentative. She told her to wear higher heels. Umm hello?! Do not go here. If you do, get the price in WRITING before the work is done. You can't just say "no thank you" once they've performed the work. read more

One time she was able to have a turn around of three days on a serious alteration on a bridesmaid dress. She is always very thorough and detailed and asks all the questions I wouldn't think about! read more

my bf comes here for all his dry cleaning needs, especially since shirts are pressed at a really great price (they have a special press). womens shirts are too small for this press so even tho they're smaller, they cost more to be take care of b/c it has to be done by hand. it's a pretty standard price. the owners are really nice. they also do great hemming on jeans. read more

Awful customer relations. I was quote a VERY HIGH price for a dress alteration. I asked to take the dress somewhere else for another quote and the owner told me if I take the dress out of the store, I can never come back. SEE YA! I'll GLADLY take my business elsewhere! Sun's tailor has more than suited my needs. For simple jobs like sleeve shortening and pants hemming, you can rest-assured the job will be done well. The prices are great. The shop is clean. I have only had one "intricate" piece of work done and it was done quite well. Sit back, we are about to have a moment together... I have a huge butt. I don't mean this in a whiney way, I mean this in an "I never skip legs day" way. As such, I typically have to have to size up in pants and have the waist brought in. This was especially true for some pants I bought while I was in Italy. When I brought them in, the woman at Sun's said she would put darts below the waist-line because it would make the pants fit better by ridding them of extra fabric in the upper-butt area. Sure enough, she did the job and to this day, those pants are my best fitting. They have even gotten me some positive attention while tearing up the dance-floor during the Wobble! Sun's Tailor is the best place in Madison/Huntsville to for any and all alterations! Mrs. Kim is honest about the capability of the fabrics as well as what the end result will be. My family has been to Sun's to alter probably over 100 garments over the years including delicate and intricately beaded foreign garments and we have never been disappointed. Poor Tailoring. I brought 4 pair of pants here to be shortened a few weeks ago. On two of the pants the thread from the work has already come loose and the hem will need to be redone. On all 4 pairs of pants the hem was rather sloppy and clearly visible from a distance. I would strongly recommend against this tailor. read more
