This is a 27-acre picturesque park filled with live oaks, walking paths, benches, various picnic areas, BBQs, and a small stream. The oak trees are stunning and provide the most beautiful filtered light for taking photos! The shade provided by these majestic trees would also provide the perfect respite from the heat during the summer. There's also a great playground area (which was closed off due to covid-19), various sports fields, basketball courts, and a leash-free dog area which is open Thurs-Tues. The park has a cool amphitheater with fixed tiered seating, as well as adjacent picnic areas, rest rooms and a dance pavilion which provide a beautiful natural setting for weddings or other private events. There is a $3 per vehicle day-use fee, or you can get an annual pass for $25. We visited on a recent Sunday right before more Covid lockdowns. The lot was unmanned, playground area was closed off and the park was not at all crowded. We stopped to stroll around and check the park out on our way to Oceanside, but will definitely be back to spend more time here! Our grandkids would love this park when they come to visit.

Live Oak Park is primarily used for large group gatherings and sporting events. We came here because we were looking for a park in Fallbrook that had a kids playset. My kids had plenty of fun running around and exploring the stone canals that run through the park. There isn't much else here however. Kinda sucked having to pay $3 for this limited experience. Overall, it's a nice safe park. - The grounds were clean and well maintained - $3 self-pay parking - Make sure you bring singles because there's no change machine here. - Bathrooms are clean - Nice playset, but crowded with all the people here.

This park is a nice family picnic escape just half an hour drive north from the upper reaches of San Diego (Lake Hodges/I-15 junction). Unlike Escondido, Poway and inland San Diego which often bakes in summer, this park (in hilly foresty Fallbrook) is a cool oasis. The whole park is shaded with oak trees, the ground is covered with wood chips and represents a giant playground (don't wear your best shoes). On Labor Day weekend, there were many groups and families and everyone had benches and tables for their party. Yes, there are plenty of grilling spots. The play structures are of good size and bathrooms are very clean. Clean drinking water is available. the park is surrounded by a walking trail for a nice stroll. A storm drain on the southwest side had water flowing - my kids considered it as a little creek, I agree with them! FOUR TYPES OF PEOPLE COME HERE: 1. Families/groups talking and eating. 2. Bunch of people playing soccer in a small soccer field on north side. 3 Locals walking dogs 4. And, if you are lucky, Love Bird sightings in the area http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/2TQNCtIAFCfWOm9AcGh_eQ?select=mqiZ1S2pGmVhNzMGg6Ozhw ENTRY FEE: $3, self check-in, put in envelope at entry booth. OPEN: 8 AM - 7 PM LOCATION: It is NOT on Live Oak Road. It is at the junction of Reche Rd and Gird Rd (Gird continues into the park's main parking lot.) If you are on Live Oak Park Road, you have left the real Park behind (happened with me!) Lovely shade for family and friends picnics, ballgames, hikes, and general peaceful sunshine in sunny southern.California.

A treasure in the charming community of Fallbrook, CA, San Diego county. Lovely native California oaks and sycamore trees. Beautiful gray stone masonry line the dry creeks in the well groomed park. Ballgames, soccor, volleyball.

My wife and I have lived in Fallbrook for nearly 7 years and unfortunately, we've never been to Live Oak Park...it took us having to move across the street to finally go here. But so well worth the wait! Not only did we go to the park, we rode our tandem bicycle into, around and through the park for nearly an hour...sure, the park was very busy but I don't blame them, it was the weekend of Cinco de Mayo! Even with all of the people in the park we were able to ride around. What's great about the terrain on a bike is there was a lot of elevation change...nothing too crazy but at points we had to switch gears. The park itself was very nice and shady! Even on a hot day the park was well shaded and had a nice cool breeze! LOP is great for the kids as well, since they had two different play areas but both next to each other...the restrooms and the park grounds are very clean! There are a lot areas to picnic and bbq. They have a basketball court, baseball/softball fields and areas to play soccer! But keep in mind there is a $3.00 cover for parking, try and have exact change. After writing this review, I think we're going to go for a tandem bike ride in the park!

Very picturesque old trees and stone creek bed with footbridges. Saw several different kinds of woodpeckers within a few minutes of parking. Special bonus points for clean restrooms! Shady with refreshing breeze. Enjoyed taking pictures and strolling around. Will return! Be sure to bring 3 single bills for parking. I visited on a Monday/Columbus Day and it was very uncrowded and peaceful. There isn't a lot of grass to sit on so bring a blanket and chairs.

Beautiful live oak trees

Once you pull in though everything opens up into this lush wilderness. It has a huge parking lot. The funnest part of this trail is there is choose your own adventure. Along the way you choose left or right over and over. You can't go wrong because it is a beautiful view no matter which way you turn. The best part of all is if you are the type to get lost like me it will spit you out into the parking lot because it's a huge loop. A huge loop with different trails what a great place! The only reason I gave it a four-star instead of a five is unfortunately it's built right on the side of mission Ave which is the main avenue going into fallbrook so there is a lot of traffic noise. That is only part of the trail though not the whole thing. I will be back here on my days off because it's an easy going 1 mile so I feel like I barely had to do anything, got into nature and got my steps in.

The preserve has several well-marked, directional trails, which is super helpful in case you get turned around. It does get very busy, and parking is almost always full unless you arrive early or don't mind waiting. The views are beautiful, with lots of flowers along the way. I personally did about 5 miles, but the trails definitely go beyond that. It was a great hike--challenging but enjoyable--and perfect for my dog and me. The trail is dog-friendly, but we did come across horseback riders, so a friendly reminder to be mindful of others on the trail, especially horses, and to keep your dogs under control. Overall, this was an amazing hike and I highly recommend this trail!‍

I'd consider this to be a mild hike, more like a nature walk. There's multiple river crossings throughout to be explored. We crossed at six, which was easily up to my knees. The stream was cold, refreshing, and completely clear. You can easily spot fish and we were lucky enough to see turtles. I also love that there's a sign at the beginning of the hike that lists/dates recent wildlife sightings. It does get incredibly busy here. Despite visiting on a Wednesday the parking lot was completely filled by 10am. Highly recommend arriving early if you want to snag a spot.

We drove the hour to come up from San Diego to Temecula to visit this park and spend the day with littles. Arrived at noon on a weekday, and the team was very informative about their lunch time closure and process. Check the city website. They do have great information and details there as well. I love that things were fenced off -- both around the playground and again around the splash pad -- to moderate the number of folks entering and exiting. The team working there is very kind.. keeps a good eye on the littles (parents do need to enter with the kids).. and do moderate the number of folks to avoid over crowding. This splash pad is associated with the Margarita Community park (https://www.yelp.com/biz/margarita-community-park-temecula) but the splash pad itself is listed separately with the city. I wanted to recognize the great job the team working the splash pad did. It's not huge.. but it's just right for kids up to early elementary. Mostly for the littles in attendance are of the age where they are just discovering their walking skills and can enjoy the splash of water on a hot day. The other kids weren't too crazy or rambunctious.. so I felt safe. Parents that day (weekday during school hours).. did pay close attention to their own children to keep everyone in check. There is one outdoor shower post to rinse off (the water is highly chlorinated -- or has a smell like outdoor pool water). Not much shade so definitely bring the sunscreen and hats. Recommend water shoes... even though the ground was clean and paved, the ground does get a bit toasty and it's just safer imo. They run in 55 minute increments to then shut the water off. and give the space a break and refresh the crowds. Once school lets out.. it does get more crowded in both the park and the splash pad. I believe the splash pad (as well as the surrounding park) are ADA accessible which is fantastic. I'm happy to see that all friends, of all abiliites, are able to enjoy fun time in the sun! Lots of fun.. and wish we lived closer!

The camp spots are all quite close to each other with not much privacy, but that wasn't a problem for me. The park itself seems really great for biking and just walking around. They have long and short trails with lots of nature to look at. That's the Western half that is more like the park. The Eastern half has walking trails that are more like a nature preserve. Some reviewers commented about how the trails are unkempt, and that's mostly true on the Eastern side and the Nature Trail. It wasn't too bothersome, as most of the trails were wide enough. The annoying part, though, is that there's a lot of dry, dead weeds/plants that carpet the trails with little splinters, which inevitably get into my shoes and jab me. Other than that, it's an easy, flat-ish 4 miles of walking. Lots of birds by the lake. Parking is paid in the lot, but there's also free parking along the street.
