This location is much newer than the others so it always feels clean and spacious. I just seen they got the new flavors for Slurpee. I had to try the Melon Mochi. It was so good! The worker behind the counter was really nice. He greeted us walking in, rang us up, and thanked us after we made our purchase with a big smile. It's refreshing as we don't always see such energy at a convenience store. I'll continue to come here for my slurpee cravings.

I collect toy cars and I seen a broken box of JDM cars, these cars are like Hot Wheels, and it looked like it had some missing. I took the box to the cashier who was nasty with a bad attitude who told me these are only for display and are not for sale. I told her that there was no sign saying not for sale or display item. Then another idiot with the same attitude came and told me it is for display only and you can come back another day and wait for us to sell it. As if I have ESP to know the cars were not for sale and I guess I have to use ESP to know when they plan to sell it. Their store is dirty, there is dust on the boxes, and they need to teach customer service to the idiots that work there. They could have told me politely that the item is a display item and we are sorry someone must have taken it where it was on display and put it where I found it. I hope Longs CVS puts them out of business. I am amazed they are still in business. I predict they will fail like I predicted Sears, Radio Shack, and Sharper Image, and Dennys, was going to fail due to lack of customer service. The one time I go into Walgreens is the last time I will go there.

I'll explain later. Before we even went to the location, we yelped it. We saw they had Açaí bowls and shaved ice. When we walked up to the store, the front window had all the items that was "available." I'll post the picture. When we walked in, we asked the older man if we could have 2 Açaí bowls. He yelled and said it's not açaí bowls, it's only the bottom part...NO FRUITS! My daughter pointed at the picture that had an açaí with fruit, right behind the old man. He said no fruits!! Ok fine, so we are still getting charged $8.60 for a medium size cup of only the açaí and no fruits? That's pretty expensive. Even the very best açaí bowls with fruit aren't that much!!! So we decided on the shaved ice, he said we don't sell shaved ice here! Now I'm really confused. Maybe they use too. But all the Yelpers/customers had pictures of shaved ice and açaí bowls. Our 4 girls decided on the ice cream that was in the deep freezer by register. The older lady kept shutting the freezer door on my girls because they took too long to decide. It's not like the ice cream was going to melt in 30 seconds, but whatever. Never again will I come here! The pictures I posted are of the front windows. This is a great little store. It has a great history and all the charm of an old small family…read morebusiness. They carry many different items that appeal to local culture. You can't walk into hygienic without feeling the sense of Aloha. From ethnic foods like pasteles to modern treats like Icees there's something here for everybody. The staff treats everyone with Aloha. Personally, I get Kava here every couple of weeks. Their Kava is the second best I've ever had, and the Fiji variety of Kava is particularly good. I was pleased to learn that they carried Kava, so I don't have to drive to Kalihi to get it, which is a relief because I'm an old fut who does not like driving in to Honolulu. They are just a 5 to 10 minute drive from Haiku Woods, so it's my preferred place to get Kava. If you live here their goods all have local appeal. If you're just visiting Honolulu, Hygienic store is a great place to get the feel of local culture and maybe discover a couple of new favorite foods.

Gas And More Gas…read more This small gas station is across right next to Windward Square with Adelas Country Eatery. The lady inside here was very friendly, she asked where I was from and told me where to eat and more importantly, where NOT to eat lol. Its very tight inside and there was a hot dog spinnin in the hot dog roller (didn't wanna take a pic of the hot dog because well it was close quarters and I felt a little shy lol). Even saw some bean burritos! (Gas and more Gas anyone?) Seemed to be a lot of variety for a small mart! I really appreciate the pleasant conversation I had in here though, I find some gas station attendants either robotically mum or grouchy lol.
