I've visited this restaurant multiple times and decided to write a review. I tried several dishes, including the plain queso fundido with added onion and jalapeños, campestre fish, Baja fish and shrimp tacos, and the michelada. The queso fundido is pretty good, but nothing out of the ordinary. The shrimp tacos are very flavorful and highly recommended. The fish dishes are hit or miss, with the campestre fish being the best of the three you tried. The michelada is a good drink to pair with the tacos. Their brownie Sunday is very delightful and would have never imaged it to be that good.the service is pretty good and it's a small place with nice ambience. read more

Terrible service! Mid day on a Friday. We walked in- hostess didnt greet us or make eye contact at all. After she brought in people from outside to sit, she gave us a 20 min wait time. She did'nt offer bar seating with visible room (entirely free ). When we asked to sit there while we waited on table, the hostess seemed bothered by the question and immediately stated only half the area was open due to "pick up area". Right as we were pulling out chairs, she seated the couple behind us. They clearly did not want our business. We will not be back. This was my second time to Little Shack. I called ahead and went to pick up a to-go order. Original Fish, a Fiesta and Shrimp Campestre tacos were all a great choice for $11.00. The fish taco came deconstructed and all of the sauces were on the side which I totally appreciate so that I didn't have soggy tacos by the time I got home. Our first choice was to go to lapa but it was full so we came here... oh man found an awesome taco! We've been here before and I wasn't too convinced the first time but now, there was less batter on the fish. A plus for me. But I wasn't sure which taco to get since they have soo many choices. I decided to get coconut shrimp and 1 poblano fish taco.. man avoid the coconut shrimp. Not tasty at all. They are cooked way too long to where it taste burnt. I wish I would have chosen the 3 orders of poblano. THE. BEST. My wife ordered 3 fish tacos and she loved them as well. You can chose as many tacos but they do have an order of 3. They used to have great service. I would say one of the best in El Paso. We used to go there at least twice a week. The last two times we were there, even though they have a free table they "reserve" it for God's know who or what. The food was good, and they do a good job of keeping pricing not too crazy for what they offer. The salsa was bien spicy but in a good way. This place is less about comfort food and more about fancier takes on tacos "del mar". The little shake taco was my favorite, but the fish and shrimp were also tasty. The place is small so it is a little packed. Little Shack has excellent excellent food at great prices. They're various locations make it easy to enjoy some tacos, ceviche, or pescadillas on almost whatever area of town you're in. I recently went to their N. Resler location and was very disappointed w/ the amount of food I received. I order tacos and the amount of meat I received for about $9 was shocking. I don't even mind they recently had to raise their prices. But look at the picture below, I think you'll agree that's not enough food for the price. Not impressed, I have tried this place numerous times since they opened. At first they were very good and they may have possibly changed but in the time span of two years and ordering the ahi tuna they seem to charge a very very high price for the amount of ahi tuna they give you. You can literally go purchase 1/4-1/2 of a beautiful piece of ahi tuna if not more to feed yourself and a date for less than the price they charge and get way more ahi. Oh man, I love the Little Shack! You don't know how happy it makes me that they've opened one so close to my house. Don't judge me if you see weekly check-ins from me. This LS may be smaller than it's other two locations, but they did a great job of utilizing the space. We walked in to find a large shiplap bar where most of the staff congregates (best please for them to stand so the place doesn't feel overly crowded). They have some bigger tables available that can seat a group of six and a handful more that can seat two to four. The whole time we were here it stayed busy and people cycled from the bar to a table as they became available so if you're coming with a bigger group be prepared for a small wait. The good news is they do have a few TVs tuned to sports channels so you'll have something to keep you semi preoccupied. I'm a fiend for LS's fish soup so that's exactly what I ordered as well as the queso fundido con chorizo to start. My hubby ordered the shrimp tacos sans avocado and cilantro with a cup of the fish soup. The queso fundido isn't the prettiest, but I swear it's cheesy deliciousness. You rip off a piece of the tortilla (this way you get the optimal cheese to tortilla ratio), swirl up a fork full of cheese, grab it with the tortilla and eat! So good. There's is slightly different in taste than what you'll find in most restaurants here, but still quite good. My fish soup came with ample pieces of fish, potatoes, carrots, celery, a side of rice, and just the right amount of heat. Their soup is so delicious and will always be my favorite! Also, I really dig their chips and salsa. The salsa is more of an orange color and really isn't spicy, but it's flavorful and so that's why it really has me sold. I didn't try the shrimp tacos, but they looked yummy and my hubby said he really liked them. Our waitress was pretty good. She came by when she needed to, but she didn't hover. Everyone there seemed to be happy, joking around, but also focused on giving every customer a good experience. And I was really impressed by how quickly they cleared the tables. The food is pretty affordable and they offer adult beverages as well so this is a great spot for any time of the day. I'll definitely be coming back to this place. It reminds me a lot of a place that we used to frequent in San Diego. I'm so happy that it's just right around the corner from me. We ordered take out and they didn't leave anything out. Everything was packaged up so nicely. I LOVE organized places! We had the fish tacos and the shrimp ceviche. Both were pretty good although both needed a bit of salt. The fish tacos came with delicious little sauces and plenty of toppings such as cabbage, tomato and onions. I would've liked a bit thicker, crispier coating on my fish but it was good nonetheless. The sauces were really what made the tacos so over the top good. The green sauce was a tad bit too runny but I used every last drop of it. They were also generous on the limes, which I appreciate! The ceviche had an odd red color that I wasn't too sure about at first. Sometimes it just takes a few bites to decide and I decided I liked it. The portions are large and they don't skimp on the shrimp at all! I'd like to try to shrimp tacos and the fish ceviche next time. This is the first place that I've found that has really good, fairly priced fish tacos. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed! read more

We were attempting to go to another restaurant for lunch near Little Shack. That restaurant was to busy for my impatient self. Little Shack was excellent. We loved their salsa & chips. I had the Little Shack tacos, my husband had the fish tacos and my son had the Fiesta tacos. Everything was cooked perfectly and all our meals were phenomenal. I haven't met a corn tortilla that I loved until now...if every corn tortilla was like these, I would be a raving fan. We all put our tacos as one of the top tacos that we have had. Our server was super energetic, friendly and very prompt. Food arrived fast and hot. Definitely a great experience all the way around. I love little shack BUT this location sucks. The 2 locations on mesa are better. I always order the fish soup. This location serves it HORRIBLY! I have ordered it twice here. All they give me is liquid with 2 small chunks of fish, 1 piece of carrot, and one piece of celery. Not joking! Horribly served. I make better soup with more veggies than that. The second time i ordered ceviche and it was bland, it had a lot of cucumber and veggies and like 2 shrimp. It wasn't bad but it was just ok, i wouldn't order it again. The place is tiny, and when full it can feel very crowded. I have 2 small children so i need a high chair, there is only 2 possible tables the high chair fits so if those tables are taken there's no way to accommodate a baby in the other high tables.
