I am beyond thankful everyday for the love, the fun, the diverse learning experience and the peace of mind we have knowing our kids are in the best care possible. Lorrelie, Mr. J, Miss Jolina and the entire staff are just absolutely wonderful. They love and care about every child in their school and are constantly providing new fun ways to learn and engage. I am blown away when my toddlers come home and know not just their colors but their colors in English and spanish, or when they learn all about the food pyramid and healthy nutrition, or how to paint laying down like Michelangelo, or all of the fun things they learn through their "science experiments".... I could obviously go on and on. This school focuses on letting kids be kids and loving them for who they are. If you care about your child having a well rounded PreK experience that is family oriented, communicative, caring, trustworthy and truly cares about community this is hands down your best option in Lyndhurst...we tried other schools and looked at other options and I feel so blessed that this is where we ended up. I will never be able to thank Ms. Lore and Mr. J enough for what they have done for my kids. My son was developmentally behind when starting here two years ago and this staff has been so inclusive, understanding and his biggest cheerleaders in all the progress he has made. Because of this environment he will be heading to kindergarten next year light years beyond where we ever could've hoped and with the confidence to continue to thrive and develop in an neurotypical environment! If you are looking for a daycare you can trust .... run don't walk and meet the wonderful family at Play N Learn.

They are full day students…read more Their pre-k program has both a structured component where the students work on themed projects as well as an opportunity for self directed learning where they can choose to spend time in any area of the classroom. There is a large playground where the kids get to run and play in the morning and the afternoon. During inclement weather they play downstairs in a large room - often playing games like freeze tag or duck, duck goose, or using hula hoops. Their teacher emails us a weekly newsletter to let us know what they're working on in the classroom as well as including names of books they will be reading, words to songs they are learning. The environment is very personable. The teachers and the director of the school really take the time to get to know each of their students. I know my children are learning and being very well cared for while at school all day. They have an excellent after care program in which all of the kids who stay go to the large art room. Some of the activities that the kids are involved in are: finger painting, playdo, using the large hollow blocks, book reading and music - we have teachers who play both the piano and guitar. My children are never quite ready to leave school when I come to pick them up.

Unapproachable director. New update: I hear the director has left! Wonderful news for the school. Unfortunate for the new school she is running. I changed the stars from 2 to 4.

We emailed back and forth about what schedule and payment preference. Didn't hear anything back after a day so I texted. After 3 days from the original email asking for the enrollment documents and information I got an email with an attachment for payment authorization and payment breakdown. Ms. Monica wanted my bank account information and as of this still post never answered or sent anything about enrollment documents. I never had a daycare ask for payment before sharing or giving me the documents I needed to complete. I was not asking for my child to start before I paid. I just wanted to know all fees I had to pay up front and what documents needed to be filled out. Not sure if she asks for payment first from everyone. The email interaction lets me know all I need to know about this place and I'm glad it happened because when you go there everyone smiles and says the nicest things. I can see from the reviews and the way I was treated this place is not about kids. It's about money. I'm very happy I will not be spending my hard earned money at this place. I had to remove my daughter from this school after I popped in unannounced and saw something that was completely unacceptable done to a child. I reported it to management and Brianne handled it so poorly and was very dismissive about the entire thing. Im not sure why they continue to have her in management after so many negative reviews about her. My daughter started April 1st there and every day I would drop her off she would cry hysterical and beg me not to take her to that school. I thought it was just her having trouble adjusting to a new environment but when I would pick her up she would have tears dried on her face like she's been crying the entire day. Once she saw me she would get up in a panic and run to me and say mommy let's go home now and I didn't realize how serious it was and how traumatized she was until I took her out of this location and put her in another location. She has been in her new school since May 1st and has not cried once during drop off she even asked me if she could stay longer when I went to pick her up which never happened in 4 weeks of her being in the Hackensack location . She told me she doesn't want to go back to her old bubbles and friends school because the teacher is mean and that her teacher will get really mad when she cries . She says the complete opposite about her new teacher so clearly the problem wasn't her adjusting it was the environment and teachers in that location. I'm thankful I randomly popped in that day because if I didn't see what I saw I would of probably kept her in this location for longer thinking it was just her adjusting but seeing how happy , excited and comfortable she is in her new school I know that it was not her having trouble adjusting she just didn't feel safe there. So parents if your kid is telling you they aren't happy there please listen to them.

This particular location is independently owned and operated by Alicia Antoine who is extremely experienced, having run another TLE location for 8 years and being a mom of 3. She understands the needs of working parents since she is very involved and hands on herself, opening the center daily. She also used to be a teacher and is extremely supportive to her teaching team because she shares the same passion for providing quality care and education to children in the community. I truly couldn't have picked a better place to settle in my career. The facility itself is absolutely beautiful (you have to see it to believe it) and TLE's curriculum is hands down the most comprehensive educational program I've had the ability to work with. The curriculum and research development team ensures that each child is able to grow and develop independently while becoming caring members of society. It is because of this team that teachers are afforded the ability to focus their energy on being loving and nurturing caregivers while they execute the TLE curriculum created by corporate. At TLE of North Haledon, you honestly get the best of all worlds- a brand new school with beautiful amenities, an experienced and passionate owner, a comprehensive curriculum, and the most loving, nurturing staff. You'd be hard-pressed to find all of these unique qualities anywhere else, and I am grateful to be part of such an incredible school.

If you have a child who doesn't move or speak, maybe this place is fine, but for my active son, paying over $1800 a month feels like throwing money away for a daycare that seems clueless about how to manage a child. After two consecutive days on 5/27--telling me I had half an hour to pick him up because he was climbing on furniture, which is typical kid behavior. I had to pull him out. My 18-month-old son faced discrimination from both the director and the regional director because of his special needs--he has a speech delay and is already receiving early intervention. When I took my first tour on 1/23, I explained all of my son's needs in great detail, and Victoria assured me that there would be no problem, that it was normal for his age. On the second tour on 3/11 with Rosie, I reiterated my son's needs, and once again, they said it was normal. Even uploaded and provided my son early intervention evaluation But when he started on 4/1, I received constant complaints. I was called on 4/3, 4/7, and 4/14 about minor incidents like biting another child, without anyone witnessing what actually happened. On 4/16, they reported he was running around and tried to bite a teacher's finger, and on 4/23, he hurt himself by slipping. Then on 5/5, he bit another child again without anyone clarifying the situation. That same day, they told me he put his hand in the toilet. This center has cornered me into providing documentation from doctors who have no clue what they're being asked for, since it's inappropriate for his age. They don't work with parents to help teach the kids; it's incredibly frustrating. Also when stuff happens to my son no report was given nor anyone knew what happened. Requested report from manager and still nothing.
