I went to visit the learning experience for a tour. After the tour I reached out wanting to sign my kid up. I emailed Monica M to request the enrollment documents. We emailed back and forth about what schedule and payment preference. Didn't hear anything back after a day so I texted. After 3 days from the original email asking for the enrollment documents and information I got an email with an attachment for payment authorization and payment breakdown. Ms. Monica wanted my bank account information and as of this still post never answered or sent anything about enrollment documents. I never had a daycare ask for payment before sharing or giving me the documents I needed to complete. I was not asking for my child to start before I paid. I just wanted to know all fees I had to pay up front and what documents needed to be filled out. Not sure if she asks for payment first from everyone. The email interaction lets me know all I need to know about this place and I'm glad it happened because when you go there everyone smiles and says the nicest things. I can see from the reviews and the way I was treated this place is not about kids. It's about money. I'm very happy I will not be spending my hard earned money at this place. As a parent I can't help but feel the need to write this review to warn parents about this location. I had to remove my daughter from this school after I popped in unannounced and saw something that was completely unacceptable done to a child. I reported it to management and Brianne handled it so poorly and was very dismissive about the entire thing. Im not sure why they continue to have her in management after so many negative reviews about her. My daughter started April 1st there and every day I would drop her off she would cry hysterical and beg me not to take her to that school. I thought it was just her having trouble adjusting to a new environment but when I would pick her up she would have tears dried on her face like she's been crying the entire day. Once she saw me she would get up in a panic and run to me and say mommy let's go home now and I didn't realize how serious it was and how traumatized she was until I took her out of this location and put her in another location. She has been in her new school since May 1st and has not cried once during drop off she even asked me if she could stay longer when I went to pick her up which never happened in 4 weeks of her being in the Hackensack location . She told me she doesn't want to go back to her old bubbles and friends school because the teacher is mean and that her teacher will get really mad when she cries . She says the complete opposite about her new teacher so clearly the problem wasn't her adjusting it was the environment and teachers in that location. I'm thankful I randomly popped in that day because if I didn't see what I saw I would of probably kept her in this location for longer thinking it was just her adjusting but seeing how happy , excited and comfortable she is in her new school I know that it was not her having trouble adjusting she just didn't feel safe there. So parents if your kid is telling you they aren't happy there please listen to them. read more

As a parent of 2 kids enrolled here since 18 months old, I couldn't be more pleased with the kids' care and education. I am very happy with the nurturing, clean and academic program. Both are very well socialized and appreciate important concepts taught there like philanthropy, world culture, and social/emotional concepts. (They study ancient Egypt, Latin American countries, world flags, music, etc.) You definitely get what you pay for. My kids are going to be extremely well prepared for kindergarten in my blue-ribbon district. I've referred 3 friends who are also very pleased with their children's education and care. In fact, several of my son's classmates have their cousins and close family friends enrolled here as well (which in my opinion, speaks volumes.) Management is always accessible to discuss any issues and are very respectful and full of knowledge. (Women in upper management have Masters degrees in related fields of study.) The teachers are loving and have a dynamic way of providing the academic instruction. Both of my kids are excelling academically and socially. My Pre-K 4 son is reading, writing and doing arithmetic at a 1st grade level. My daughter in Pre-K 1 is advancing by leaps and bounds every month. I have had both my children here since about 18 months old and am very confident that they are getting the best education while having a great time. My son comes home teaching me things! I love how they make the lessons fun and incorporate themes into each month to make the lessons interdisciplinary. Suffice it to say that despite less expensive options, I have kept my children here because they are thriving in so many ways. Great entertainment in the summer camp program too! (Clowns, musicians, even an animal person who brings in iguanas, parrots, etc. for the kids to interact with.) Great place and a team that cares about your kids. read more

Till this day, my husband and I agree that enrolling our daughter into the TLE Hackensack is the best decision we have ever made for her. We couldn't be more satisfied with the well-rounded curriculum and excellent academic quality the TLE offers. The teachers are so friendly, caring, patient, and nurturing. The management staff are always so gracious and very helpful. The daily activities updates along with the pictures sent throughout the day on the mobile app are so refreshing to receive, I love being able to see snippets of what she does doing the day. My heart explodes with happiness each time. I will eternally be grateful for love, guidance, and great care my daughter has received from the TLE staff. My daughter has been enrolled in the TLE since she was 20 months old. She is now a happy, extremely smart, and very friendly 3-year-old. As a first-time mom, I was very hesitant in registering her in a preschool in which I knew no one and nothing about. The TLE is conveniently located near my office, which is why we took the tour with Ms. Monica. We are so extremely happy that we did. I had two children at the TLE Hackensack. While Mr Mike and Chrissy owned the place, TLE was run more like a family, one to one knowledge and care. After Mr Mike left, the place denigrated rapidly. Because of two incidents, I pulled my girls out without notice after 3 years of being there. 1) Cathy and an assistant teacher literally bullied my 5 year old because she had a tantrum. She never throws a tantrum and these teachers knew her. But she did that afternoon and Cathy punished my daughter by putting her on the bench during playtime and denying her a popiscle while all 20+ kids in the class and the two teacher took one for themselves right in front of her. The management under Monica were suffiently mortified and put a warning or whatever in Cathy's record and pulled them up for retraining. To this day that denigrate woman never apologized. How a woman, a teacher can do that to a 5 year old is beyond me?! I can never get over it despite the passing of this much time since it happened. I despise that woman and she shouldn't be near kids at all. Overall, she was an assistant teacher and took over when Ms Lemon left that class. She was never qualified, active or engaged. 2) The teachers in the PreK 2 class - they yelled and pushed kids all the time. They loved my daughter but many times I have seen then get in the face of 3-4 year old kids and yell them down. Many times I have seen them sass talk and snicker at kids. My friend pulled her son out of that class for this very reason. One of TLE's inspection report has this same comment about this class as well - teacher yelling. When I pulled my girls out, the management let me go without dinging me for the lack of notice because they knew I could cause them a serious issue with my complaint about Cathy. Their front desk staff and several teachers need serious training and skills. I wouldn't go to this corporate owned TLE at the Hackensack location ever. The facility is nice, they have sufficient play areas and activities. Ms Lemon who previously taught the older classes was awesome and taught the kids of that class to read much ahead of their age. But a few rotten apples left in the barrel ruined this center. PS: I left this center in 2016. I don't know if Cathy is still there. read more

TLE Hackensack has been a lifesaver. After we relocated from NY to NJ, we had to find a safe and educational environment for our 18-month old who was only used to a 1:1 nanny. TLE Hackensack was recommended by a neighbor so we explored it and was happy with the level of response and professionalism from the Assistant Director (Mrs. Monica), front desk staff (Mrs. Melissa and Ms. Breanne are always pleasant) and teachers (very kind and patient with the children overall), the level of safety (you need an electronic key swipe to get in and also need to sign your child in an out on the computer as well as on paper--my husband is BIG on safety so this was a huge win for him), and the curriculum (engaging and hands-on). The app has been a huge plus as well. I can feel a part of my child's day because of the updates and photos. They also offer cute/fun events for parents to interact with the kids and each other (i.e., Muffins and Mommy, Donuts and Daddy, Parent Storytime). Being at daycare has been an adjustment for my toddler but she has become acclimated over the last 9+ months. I now have a newborn and will be enrolling him once I go back to work. For anyone considering daycare (especially if you are going from an at-home nanny to daycare environment), this could be the right place for you and your child! read more

Last month before my Children start date may 2 , I paid registration fee of 300 and was told they do subsidy, I told them I will apply , I sent my subsidy forms in and the director sends the assistant director to me and she states they don't take that subsidy and I basically state OKAY that's fine . My family friend who decided to just get more info on the subsidy they take to make sure it wasn't any discrimination . I was advise I can do a county to county transfer due to me moving to Hackensack and they will accept the subsidy . So I email the kids document and let the assistant director know I will PAY OUt Of POCKET no problem until I get a county to county transfer . She then proceeded to tell me my date is cancel because SOMEONe else called and change my date for me. I advise her it is Friday and my kids start Monday and no one can change my start date but ME ! And the daycare they was in I had already put in my 30 day advance letting them know my kids was transferring and the assistant manager basically stop answering my emails and still did not send me my 300 registration feee she email she was going to send back ! I can't believe the inconvenience and I really believe it was due to discrimination because my kids was going to get subsidy and when I applied I didn't have subsidy yet but now due to me getting subsidy and sending in the paper work they made it a big inconvenience for me ! & I also had no problem paying out of pocketyea read more

My son went to this center for about 2.5 years. I am THE scary mom; I'm the one who wants to know when he pooped and what consistency it was and who sits next to him and whether he was upset about anything, at all, ever. Not once, ever, did I feel like he was not cared for. The people who work at the Hackensack Learning Experience are incredibly professional and loving. I loved the clean, bright, welcoming facilities, I loved the administrators, I loved the teachers. More importantly, my son loved them too. He was always happy here (he's been done for 3 years now). We bounced through several daycare facilities before we settled on TLE, and while I wish I was his primary care provider, TLE provided the both of us with the comfort of a loving, safe environment. I couldn't have asked for a better place or staff to introduce my daughter to in her very first venture off into the world. Great and amazing staff! Place is very clean and conveniently located for me. Very very accommodating! My daughter's growth and development is taking off to new heights because of the teachers here. Was a favorite, not anymore - and I don't want to give them a bum rap because Mr. Mike is a nice guy and he means well and does his best - but The quality of the teaching staff has plummeted and management has failed to acknowledge this immense error in judgment. They are basically glorified babysitters. Yes, anyone can open up a school and teach your child their abc's or to count from 1 to 10 but are they truly certified? Are they really teachers? Are they equipped to deal with your child if they have ADD, ADHD, sensory disorders? If identified, how do they deal with it? Well, if your child has any of these issues this is not the place for you. However, If you want a beautiful school with state of the art classrooms and teachers that threaten your 4 year old by reporting them to "management" when you, (the parent) aren't always in agreement with their practices, then this school is right up your alley. All children develop differently, some are angels and others not so much. Also, everyone has different experiences - the reality is they may work for your child --- but for me, this was no longer an option. My daughter started here in 2011 and has truly learned and developed so many skills because of the wonderful teachers at this Hackensack location. Today was her last day as she's starting Kindergarten, and our family will certainly miss everyone. I have nothing but good things to say and would absolutely recommend them. My daughter was potty trained here, learned her abc's, learned how to write, and communicate with others...and that's only a few things!
