The administrators and teachers have always gone above and beyond to be transparent and problem solve. Most importantly, the kids have never felt the impact and receive outstanding academic enrichment. Specific to Covid, all I can say is that they are doing the absolute best they can and we appreciate it. They have managed multiple Covid cases with the strict guidance of the health department and brought parents along every step of the way. Personal opinions on vaccination aside, I've been impressed by their swift actions based on science and truly believe they are looking out for my son as if he was one their own. Zadie's is an awesome familial community - especially for families new to the area. I highly recommend.

It's clear that the teachers and staff truly care about the children - they remember things about our son from his preferences to details as minor as his favorite color. He always arrives at Zadie's happy and eager to spend the day with his teachers & friends. As it relates to COVID, Zadie's has done an excellent job of keeping parents informed, and mediating any situations that need attention. It goes without saying that managing a childcare facility during a global pandemic is nothing short of challenging, and Zadie's has done a fantastic job keeping up with the ever-changing climate as it relates to COVID and keeping our children safe. We couldn't be happier that we chose Zadie's for our family!

Hello, I wanted to…read moreshare something that's been weighing on me. I used to work as a nanny for a family whose child attends Immerson. I appear to be a Black woman, and I often wrap my hair mainly because I'm very active and like to keep it clean and protected. Occasionally, I wear it out. I understand that, at times, my appearance may lead people to assume I'm Muslim, which may explain some of the behavior I've encountered. While I try not to take offense or view myself as a victim, I've felt some subtle but persistent discriminatory energy from staff at the school. On multiple occasions, I've noticed I'm made to wait even after others arrive after me. I always stand several feet back from the door out of respect for the school's boundaries, yet just this week, when I asked for the little one I care for, I was told "Stop! Stop!" as if I was trying to force my way in. I wasn't even close to the door and had no intention of entering unless explicitly needed. The reaction felt disproportionate and a bit alarming. They also once scurried the little one I picked up half way out the door. The door then began closing on her as the teacher turned their back to get back to the classroom. That was very wild to see and experience. It also was dangerous for the child. I've also observed that most of the staff I've interacted with appear to be Latina or of East Asian descent, often with strong accents. Even the director seems to have limited communication in English. While I respect all cultures deeply, I also know unfortunately that classism, colorism, and other forms of bias can exist in every community. What's been equally disheartening is the behavior modeled at pickup. A couple of parents skip ahead in line, don't ask who was next, and fail to engage in even basic courtesy. The teachers witness who arrives first, but this doesn't seem to be acknowledged. Families often ask me for recommendations on schools that emphasize not just academic excellence, but empathy, kindness, and true character development not just performative values. Sadly, based on what I've experienced, I would not feel comfortable directing them to Immerson.
