With about two minutes to review the menu, I chose to get 3 tacos al pastor and a side of rice and beans. My delivery through Uber Eats was super quick and the food was nice and warm. The tacos.... After my first bite I had to let my coworkers on Zoom know that the lunch order had been a success! The squeeze of lime was the perfect addition to the meaty tacos. We've found good places since then, but Taqueria Azteca is in another category of good. The menu features breakfast and lunch items as well as dinner items. The house specialties are a little more expensive, as you would expect, but definitely worth the money you pay. The menu also includes a very good variety of items, from typical dishes like tacos and tostadas to somewhat harder to find dishes like bistec ranchero (Ranch-style beef) and pollo en mole (Chicken in mole sauce), to neat surprises, like BBQ ribs. They boast a good range of seafood; we didn't try those dishes. Two things I especially appreciated seeing available were a good offering of soups and tortas (Latin American sandwiches). They also offer a good range of Mexican soft drinks, including Mexican Coca Cola. The staff is bilingual; we had no problems ordering. Seating is a bit limited; 40 people would probably fill the place to capacity, but getting seated was not a problem when we had dinner there. If you are hungry for some really great Mexican food that would compare favorably to some of the best places in Texas (no mean feat!), Taqueria Azteca won't disappoint.

Turns out my wife called the Beloit truck on accident so when I arrived at the Menards Janesville location (5 minutes from our home), they didn't know what I was talking about. But the guys were very cool, very kind and made the two pork chop tacos with potatoes and didn't charge us anything, even though I offered to pay the difference since we only paid for the potato and steak tacos. To start, we noticed how slow their service was and how their staff's urgency was almost non existent. Our bartender was very quirky but also very nice. We ordered nachos to share and each got 1 overpriced taco each. we both also tried mixed cocktails. Mine smelled and tasted like bandaids... idk why i knew what those taste like or maybe my imagination led me to that. My wife got the margarita flight ($20) for 3 tiny pre mixed margaritas. Both of us did not like our drinks. The food was fine, the nachos lacked depth but were edible. The tacos were not good at all, hers (fish) had very little fish and the taco was very small and didn't taste like much. My Brussel sprout taco was also very small and VERY salty. Neither of us finished our tacos. The one thing i did really enjoy was their salsa that I had to ask for with the nachos, that I was also charged for. Ultimately we spent $70-$80 on a tiny meal we didn't like at all. I have no intention to return and would suggest you explore the amazing options around beloit before landing here.
