First of all the silverware was Dirty with old Dried on gunk on it. The waitress couldn't care less! Cheap members mark china made has to be 20 years old, and it looks bad all scratches and small in size. I don't think we ever seen cheaper! Food was low end barely warm. They charge me $5. For refined beans and $5. For a spoonful of guacamole. There was a 8% charge no explanation. Maybe gratuity? All I know is for 2 drinks and 2 dinners $50.00 was. RIP OFF. We love coming here for dinner! Great margaritas, we love the chips and salsa, and their menu is fantastic... whatever you want, they've got! We like cheese dip and the Carne Asada tacos, the best, but there are so many other good choices. The only thing that is not on their menu that I wish was is Birria tacos. This was the first time here but won't be our last. We decided to grab lunch before going grocery shopping. The restaurant was very clean. The staff welcomed us, and we were seated right away. The waiter recommended my lunch with chicken and chorizo. I could only eat half and take the rest home. Large servings. We can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu. There are a lot of choices. When we first saw the building , it has drive through windows, but it is not a fast food restaurant. There is a lot of parking and next to the grocery store. The food is good. I have yet to eat a bad meal at this place. Typical night is a large order of cheese dip, a giant margarita, and the Santa Fe Chicken. What I loved best about this place was how the server always brought out chips and salsa for us when we were getting low. We had our chips and salsa refilled multiple times as we were waiting for our food. Our server took our order quickly, and always checked up on our table. I ordered the shrimp tacos which I thought were a little too salty, but I still enjoyed it a lot. The refried beans and rice were delicious. I love refried beans and it hit the spot. I highly recommend coming here especially for the happy hour and margaritas. I definitely recommend coming here for some good Mexican food. read more

Your run of the mill normal town Mexican place- food is good. Cheese sauce is a good- with a little kick at the end. Salsa is pretty average- a bit tomato-ie for me. Loved the burrito with different sauces on it. I'd come back for the food. Margarita was a bit too sweet for me. read more

If you want a Mojito, do not go to the Roscoe location, they do not have as much of a drink menu selection there. Needless to say, we don't go to that one anymore even though it's closer to us. The Loves Park location was pretty good, but they seem to be on the decline. The service is always good. They are friendly and efficient. It's the food that is the issue. Whatever they are using for steak seems to be more like a grade C meat. It's gristly and parts can't be chewed. A little reminiscent of canned dog food. Their burritos were good but is seems like they are trying to save more money now by really filling them with a lot of refried beans and gristly meat. The last few times I've eaten one there they get worse and worse. This time the inside was so cold it really grossed me out. The burrito is about the size of a football. I didn't bring any of it home bc I didn't even want to eat it. Too bad. The restaurant looks great, and has great service. If they made the dishes smaller maybe they could use better quality ingredients. Quality over quantity. It will be awhile before I give them another try. read more

Let me just tell you all, the roscoe location is amazing for their servers and food. We have a toddler, who used to be shy about going to Family members but since she was about 8mo old - we would dine occasionally at this location. Claudia was our server every time - she got our daughter to warm up to her and would take G all around the restaurant to check on tables. At the end of the meal , Claudia would bring her over to pick out a sucker. Seriously, we look for her to see if she's working and if we don't have her as our server. She pops over to the table where our daughter says "Uppy" It's like cheers where everyone knows your name. Incredibly pleasant and attentive. We love it here! The food is tasty. I'll make a recommendation right now - the chicken dishes reign supreme. Make sure to ask for their shredded chicken if it doesn't already come this way... Enchiladas verde with rice and beans - chimichanga with chicken - YUMMY. Queso with chips and the salsa -YUMMY. G gets a small plate of chicken with rice and beans which she loves. The decor is festive and colorful. The margaritas are yummy. My fav is mango :) PS- I'm excitedly waiting for tonight's dinner because it's going to be at fiesta Cancun ;) read more

Fiesta Cancun is an all right restaurant. They're pretty basic Mexican dishes, with a pretty affordable price to go along with it. What is nice about this restaurant is that they used the shell of an old Wendy's and renovated it into something new, rather than just tearing it down and making something from scratch. Yay for reuse! In any case, the booths are usually pretty cramped, with short bench seating (maybe to cram in more spaces?) but large tables. Salsa and chips are served while looking through the menus, which is a nice touch and a fantastic snack. The food is always hot and is almost always the correct order, and I've rarely had a problem with anything there. It is kind of unfortunate that you have to go up to the front in order to pay, but for some reason that is pretty typical with Mexican restaurants. Also, as a note to the owners: The west door (next to the drive thru window) is the absolute hardest door to open I've ever seen in my life. I have seen people walk all the way to the other side of the building because they thought it was locked, and that's unacceptable. Please fix it after all these years! read more

Just moved out here and looking for a comparable authentic Mexican cuisine and this was anything but..... They did good by renovating an old Wendy's but the smell that comes out of the kitchen is foul and unappetizing. I wish it was only the smell that was the issue. After living in Elgin for so long and having amazing options like ElPariso and ElFaros I needed a replacement. I ordered a couple burritos a taco and an enchilada. I just wanted to get a good sample of their menu. The taco was just a steak taco minimal ingredients on a hard shell it was just dry and no seasoning on it at all. The burritos were the main reason I wrote this review in the first place..... What they serve is not a burrito.... You might as well call it a taquito... To me a burrito of steak as the main ingredient then some cheese tomato lettuce sour cream so packed you can barley close it. This was a tortilla with 3 strips of steak with a sprinkle of cheese with some red sauce dropped on top. For $6!!!!!! Made no sense to me. I eat here regularly for lunch. The service is fast and friendly, the food is hot, consistent and a good value. The lunch specials knock a dollar or so off the price and they are served with a basket of warm chips and their own recipe salsa (it is a bit too mild). Last night will be our last experience with the Roscoe location of Fiesta Cancun. It began with a $73 takeout order. Telephone orders at this location are problematic as language appears to be an impediment. If you're looking to hold the onions or lettuce, good luck with that. Last night took it to a different level as our chicken fajitas order was omitted. When I called to inform them, the young man who answered the phone seemed skeptical, he wanted to know if I had checked all of the containers. Gee whiz, why didn't I think of that? of course I checked - that's why I was calling! I was assured a replacement order would be waiting when I returned to the restaurant. It's about a 15 minute drive from my house, but mistakes happen. When I arrived at the restaurant the manager on duty (same young man) remembered me and asked if I was the one who called about the chicken fajitas. Long story short, a replacement order was not waiting and I left 20 minutes later with no fajitas. During that time I was told they were busy and I would need to wait my turn. In a prior dine-in experience, a person in our party found a hair in their meal. When we complained, the same manager (tall, thin young man) said the color of the hair didn't match the hair color of anyone working in the kitchen. Well, it didn't match anyone in our party either. We weren't asking for a forensic examination, hair in the food is hair in the food. It's that simple. It's not a debate or a "who done it". Just replace the dish and move on. For obvious reasons, we will not return and do not recommend the Roscoe location of Fiesta Cancun. read more

Best Mexican we found in Rockford. Eaten (4) times now and feel qualified to leave review. Salsa is lighter (could be more spicy) but loaded with cilantro just as we prefer. Chips are warm/fresh tasting. Queso light and complementary to the salsa. Pepsi products always up check for us. Modelo fans are we and if looking for adult beverage with your burrito they have the largest Modelo bottle I ever saw! Staff wait service easily above average. Small yes but does not "feel" crowded. Last meal was Friday night 1900 hours and waited about 1 minute to sit. Never felt pinched. Colors are bright but not gaudy and generally there is a cozy family feel to the whole place. Food: We both tried something different each time, from Beef to Pollo and been extremely satisfied. The combo fajitas for two meal was VERY good (and good bargain) and Fiesta allowed us both corn and flour tortilla's.The grilled chicken quesadilla looks more like an American taco but kids tore it up! It's sort of our barn tradition that every time we have a horse show at Ledge's we have Friday dinner here. The food is always quite excellent and the service is friendly and accommodating, although at times a bit slow. Then again, they probably are slower in our case because there is usually 15-20 of us, they may very well get to tables of 3-4 a lot faster and we wouldn't know because we don't live in the area. My one gripe would be the lack of healthy options. I ordered the taco salad once ...there was some lettuce near the top but it was mostly a bowl of beef, beans and cheese. It was good, but not what comes to mind when you hear the word "salad." The portions are always generous and the margaritas are good. The price point is also difficult to complain about. read more

Fiesta Cancun is the place to go for cheap and consistently good Mexican food. It's not authentic, but as close as you can get around here, and it's certainly more authentic than a lot of other Mexican joints. Also, it's so cheap for what you get. You can leave full with leftovers for later and spend no more than 10 bucks a person including drinks! Tip: If you're looking to cop a buzz, never order the frozen margaritas--order non frozen for higher tequila content! read more
