Last night will be our last experience with the Roscoe location of Fiesta Cancun. It began with a $73 takeout order. Telephone orders at this location are problematic as language appears to be an impediment. If you're looking to hold the onions or lettuce, good luck with that. Last night took it to a different level as our chicken fajitas order was omitted. When I called to inform them, the young man who answered the phone seemed skeptical, he wanted to know if I had checked all of the containers. Gee whiz, why didn't I think of that? of course I checked - that's why I was calling! I was assured a replacement order would be waiting when I returned to the restaurant. It's about a 15 minute drive from my house, but mistakes happen. When I arrived at the restaurant the manager on duty (same young man) remembered me and asked if I was the one who called about the chicken fajitas. Long story short, a replacement order was not waiting and I left 20 minutes later with no fajitas. During that time I was told they were busy and I would need to wait my turn. In a prior dine-in experience, a person in our party found a hair in their meal. When we complained, the same manager (tall, thin young man) said the color of the hair didn't match the hair color of anyone working in the kitchen. Well, it didn't match anyone in our party either. We weren't asking for a forensic examination, hair in the food is hair in the food. It's that simple. It's not a debate or a "who done it". Just replace the dish and move on. For obvious reasons, we will not return and do not recommend the Roscoe location of Fiesta Cancun. read more

Fiesta Cancun is the place to go for cheap and consistently good Mexican food. It's not authentic, but as close as you can get around here, and it's certainly more authentic than a lot of other Mexican joints. Also, it's so cheap for what you get. You can leave full with leftovers for later and spend no more than 10 bucks a person including drinks! Tip: If you're looking to cop a buzz, never order the frozen margaritas--order non frozen for higher tequila content! read more

Not impressed. The restaurant was slammed on a Sunday evening. Tiny place. Very loud. Our order took 45 minutes to come out after ordered and was only mediocre. There was never so much as an apology for the insane wait time. The complimentary chips and salsa weren't worth eating. Our server was nice enough. He just seemed too busy to be attentive to our table. Maybe worth going back again during slow hours. On a positive note, prices were cheap. read more

I've been going to Fiesta Cancun for around three years. My experience has been hit and miss, but today pretty much put a nail in the coffin for them getting my business. Food is good, customer service is awful. In the past I have ordered many carryout orders to be told it will be done in 10 minutes. You get there in 15 or so minutes, and then have to sit another 15 minutes in an empty restaurant while they make something as simple as a salad. Today I called to place a carryout order for lunch and the response was "we're busy, call back later.' Um..no. I am not going to call you back to place an order and give you my money. You are in a service industry, so provide the service. It would take 20 seconds of your time to write the information down on a ticket. read more

Ok if you want Mexican food made for americans thinking they are eating mexican food.

The food here is absolutely terrific. It is also a great value for the amount you receive. My one real complaint is about service. When I have dined here with family, it's been fine. We are treated well, and it is fast and courteous. For some reason when I eat here with my fiance, who happens to be Hispanic, I am completely ignored by the hosts and servers as they much prefer talking to her in Spanish. This happens every time. Very uncomfortable to be ignored except when being handed the check. She also notices this and finds it disturbing. As such, we try to limit how often we eat here. read more

I get dinner take out from here about 2 times a month. I usually get the grande burrito and my fiancé gets the steak fajitas. We absolutely LOVE the food. You get so much food so have an appetite. It also comes with awesome salsa and chips. The white queso is amazing! The only reason for 4 stars is because the last couple of times I felt rushed when ordering and the politeness that used to be there has kinda dwindled. Also the prices somehow vary when I buy the same food from time to time. Overall I say if your in the mood for great Mexican food, this is a must! read more

This restaurant is trash it is the crappiest Mexican food around Roscoe every time I go there I eat a fine meal but I get a stomach ache afterwards and they need to do stuff with the lighting in there. If you want to get good authentic Mexican food go to sabrosa 10 times better. I would give it 0 stars if I could. read more

My nacho fajitas were dry as a bone. Very little cheese sauce on them. Told the man at the register about it when he asked how everything was and did nothing to make it better. Nothing off the bill, not a sorry nada. $12 for a plate of dry chicken fajitas nachos. Told our waiter too, but could tell he did not care as well. Did end up getting a bowl of salsa to pour over them. Maybe because I'm a young 20 something is the reason why they did not care... who knows? Probably won't be back for a long time. Only good thing about this joint is the free chips and salsa.. that's it. Prices have gone considerably up too over the past year or so. read more

We either eat at or get take out from Fiesta twice a month. The food is always consistent and tastes great. Our favorites include the chimichangas and the burrito grande. The cheese sauce is also great! The wait staff is always prompt and willing to help you at any point. When we order carry out our orders are always completed quickly. read more

My husband and I like Fiesta Cancun. We eat in and do carry out. They have great service, margaritas, and food. Friendly staff. We like the chicken Cho Cho and we usually split a meal because we get enough for both of us. With chips and salsa it is plenty. read more

Their chips and salsa are yummy and their big burritos and fajitas are great..chimichangas..not so much. Still a great place, you can even pick up your food which is nice. read more

My wife and I have dined here several dozen times over the past couple years. We have not experienced a single event to complain or be disappointed about. The food is always hot (temp), flavorful, and presented in a timely fashion. We don't usually have alcoholic drinks, but when we have they have been very good. I also cannot say enough good things about the staff. They are every bit of what you expect from attentive, efficient, and pleasant people. Enjoy! read more

I eat here a lot and the food is always fast and hot. I love the chips and salsa before the meal, maybe a little too much. I almost always fill up on the chips and dips. The price is very reasonable. Culvers drive-up isn't really any cheaper than this sit down restaurant. read more

Luis and his family run this place with love and dedication. If you have the good fortune to chat with him or his wife, the pleasure of your dining experience will more than double. The salsa is home made every day and the giant margaritas (on the rocks) are made with Luis' own home made mix. It's Tex Mex and probably not the same traditional dishes they're cooking at home (unfortunately for us!), but everything is very fresh and the portions generous. The colorful painted decor is bright and welcoming. It's a favorite of many and can get busy, but the wait staff will gladly slow down and share a smile and a chat if you're feeling rushed. For years, Fiesta Cancun has always been our 'go to' for Mexican food. You could go from location to location and count on the quality of food and drinks across the board. Sadly, I'm afraid this is no longer the case. Tonight was our second experience of slow service (tho not that big of a deal). But the real disappointment was a second visit of just bad food. While our plates came out steaming hot, our food was not. It seemed as tho room temperature food was placed on a very hot plate. Understand we did not order any dinner item stated in their menu as 'may not be served hot due to lettuce, sour cream, etc.' Our tortillas were cold, and you have to know when the cheese in your cheese enchilada isn't melted, there's something wrong. Add to that, my husband ordered another drink but never received it. When we left to pay our bill, we were asked how everything was. I told them it was not as good as it use to be. We received absolutely no response from the person who asked. We are not people who give a less then a stellar review lightly, but this restaurant has unfortunately gone down hill. read more

We eat here as a family at least once a week and have never been let down. The chips and salsa are amazing and they bring it to your table before you even have time to open a menu. Over the past few years we've tried nearly everything on the menu and everything is delicious. Highly recommend! read more

Yuk. Service was terrible. food is terrible. went to this location got the special on the board and as he was ringing me up said oh sorry that's not a special tonight. I questioned the $0.25 per item additional charge for to go, and was told " you just don't know how restaurants work we have to charge you extra!" Having worked in the industry for over 15 years in every position throughout a restaurant from a coffee shop to fast food to fine dining, I have seen it all! Never have I been charged for to go containers until I came to the Rockford area, specifically Fiesta Cancun! To tell a customer that they're ignorant shows how little they care for their customers. Stay far away from this franchise! Poor food poor customer service! that's all you need to know. read more

This is our absolute favorite restaurant! If you are looking for authentic mexican food, this is as good as it gets! The staff is friendly and welcoming and you get your food in the blink of an eye. If you like cheese definitely try their cheese dip for the chips...it's amazing! read more
