I had a late lunch with my husband at Little Mac's and it was fantastic! I had the fish sandwich ($6) and a side of green beans, peaches, and bacon ($5). My husband had the Fried Chicken and Waffles with mashed potatoes ($15). The wait was a little bit long, so they brought us some complimentary fries to munch on while we waited. How nice is that? The fries were shoestring fries (my absolute favourite cut) and were crispy and delicious! The fish sandwich was so good. It was a nicely fried piece of fish (not battered, so much healthier) with lettuce, tomatoes, pickled onions, mustard and tartar sauce. I asked for the tartar sauce on the side, as I don't like too much of it, and this was no problem at all. The fish was seasoned so well and all the flavours and textures blended together excellently. The sandwich is on the small side (the bun is a Wonder Bread hamburger bun, so if you look at my picture that gives you an idea of the size), so unless you have a tiny appetite, a side is necessary. The green beans, peaches and bacon side dish was really tasty. Such a cool combination of flavours. The bacon was thick smoked bacon, diced. So good! The peaches I believe were canned peaches. The whole mix was fried up in a balsamic sauce and tasted great. I had a bite of my husband's chicken and waffles and it was so good. The chicken was boneless (yay!) and so crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside. The waffles were made in-house and to order and were nice and fluffy. The gravy was so savoury and smelled divine. Service was really friendly. You order at the counter and then sit down at one of the tables, they bring the food to you when it's ready. When you're done, you pay at the counter. The place is small. There are 3 tables for 4, a table for 2, and a big table for 8. It looks and feels like a diner inside a trailer, which is what it is, lol. Super cozy and cute. There's free parking in the lot in front of the restaurant. We will definitely be back!

I had assumed based on the name that this was likely a mac and cheese place. So wrong. It's not one I can easily label. They have "buns" which are sandwiches on birger buns: chicken, fish, pulled pork etc. And fries. But also green beans with bacon. Oh, fabulous milkshakes as well. It's not glamorous or gourmet. But it is good. Best bets: pulled pork, green beans, and milkshakes. Will be back to try the ribs. Service was upbeat and very pleasant. Excellent even. :) By the way a previous reviewer seemed to indicate this is a food truck. It's not. This is in the original Hintonburger location and original SusieQ location. Very stationary. Would I return? Yes Would I recommend? Yes

TLDR: Fancy and expensive vinegars and oils. Tasty and worth the splurge…read more I had walked by Aurelius many times, as it's in my neighbourhood, but had never gone in. The store sells balsamic vinegars and olive oils in a variety of cool flavours such as Green Apple balsamic vinegar and Citrus Habanero olive oil. Their products are similar to those of The Unrefined Olive, which I have been to a few times. My husband and I received a gift card for Aurelius from a friend of ours for Christmas, so that's actually what brought us into the store. We ended up getting 3 small bottles ($8.99 each). They were 60ml bottles. The larger bottles are a better deal since you get 200ml for $17.99, but we wanted to try a greater variety of flavours. We got a Pear white balsamic, a Mango dark balsamic and a Smoked Hickory olive oil. The mango balsamic vinegar was sweet and full of potent mango flavour and aroma. The pear balsamic vinegar was just as good as the mango one. The pear flavour was strong. I would drizzle these on salads unadulterated, lol. No oil, no other spices, just the vinegar, and it made salads delicious. The Hickory smoked olive oil is phenomenal. It has a potent smokey aroma. I like adding it to roasted Brussels sprouts. It gives it that smokey flavour without having to add artery-clogging bacon, lol. Service was courteous and friendly. The store is a good size, but only the front section is accessible to customers. The back is for staff only. They had some nice displays at the front, with several packages ready for gifting. We walked over, but it's street parking only, which is not surprising for businesses in Wellington West. I would say that street parking is not that hard to find in the area, but you may have to park on a side street and walk over, and parking might be more difficult to find in the winter when the streets are narrowed by snow banks. I completed the order form asking for Delivery Dec 18. When I confirmed with my family they didn't receive it I called. I said that would have been helpful information the month prior when they took my money. The person was rude and saying there aren't delivering at all in Dec. again then don't take orders. They did process the refund upon request but I doubt I would have unless I followed up. I would never use again! The server greeted me right away and asked if I wanted regular hot chocolate or spicy. I chose spicy (I love spicy anything)! It took maybe 10 minutes to make, which is a while, but you can browse the store in the meantime; the variety of chocolates was stunning! They also have 3 types of chocolate cakes you can purchase as slices. I chose to take it to go, but if you have the hot chocolate there, they are served in tall pretty glasses. The hot chocolate was piping hot, and quite rich; the spices really crept up on you, and made drinking it an interesting experience!

It's definitely boutique-y as opposed to bargain-y if you know what I mean, lol. My husband loves their Jamaican beef patties, which are "homemade" as opposed to the highly processed stuff sold at supermarkets. I personally find them too greasy, but they are very flakey and filled with more meat than any other Jamaican beef patty I've ever seen! Their donuts are just ok, in my opinion, nothing remarkable. If you like European-style potato salads, I think you might like the potato salad at Piggy Market. The potatoes are firmer and it's less mayonnaise-y than North American potato salad. Their prepared meals are good to grab and go, but a bit pricey for what they are, in my opinion. For example, their vegetarian poke bowl is $14.50, which is about the same price as freshly prepared and customizable vegetarian bowls elsewhere. Pricing, aside, the food at Piggy Market is generally tasty. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The shop is on a side street off the main drag. It's right by Winston Square, so when the weather is nice, you can eat at Winston Square. Street parking only.

Over many, years my Jamaican born family members and I have scoured Ottawa-Gatineau, Miami and Jamaica looking for a Jamaican-style patty that can be described as 'nyam-ing' perfection. The Piggy Market delivers! How do they achieve this? I believe that it's all about their quality ingredients, mouth watering recipes, impactful blend of spices (flavourful heat) and a pastry shell that screams , "I am Jamaica Proud!" Today we visited for the first time and tried the Beef patties and Jerk Chicken patties. We're saving our next visit for Oxtail patties and any other patty menu items that we have yet to try. Every week The Piggy Market highlights a unique specialty patty on their menu. Note to the wise. Call in advance to find out what's available--what's on the patty menu that week.

The Long Version: My husband and I love Farmers' Markets and since the Parkdale Farmers' Market is within walking distance for us, we go often. This year (2025) we noticed a new vendor: Tito Leo's BBQ. So we had to check it out. We got a small chicken BBQ platter with half rice and half fries ($10 taxes included). The rice is Java rice, which is rice cooked in chicken broth and turmeric. It was good and more exciting than just plain white rice. The fries were shoestring fries, my favourite cut. The chicken was chopped up BBQ chicken layered on top of the rice and fries. A tangy BBQ sauce was poured over everything. The chicken was tender and moist. I would have preferred less BBQ sauce because the dish was a little too saucy for my liking, but overall I still really enjoyed it. My husband liked it too. Service was courteous and efficient. They have a few private tables in front of their kiosk, but there's the main seating for the market too if those tables are occupied. There's also picnic tables at Parkdale Park right next to the market. We were lucky to score one of the private tables. There are a few parking spots at The Parkdale Farmers' Market. Otherwise, there's street parking, both paid and free spots in the area. Review #123 (2025)

The Long Version: I don't love Montreal smoked meat in general, but I do like the smoked meat sandwiches at Schwartz's in Montreal, so when Smoked Royale opened up in July 2025 not far from us, my husband and I decided to give them a try. The fact that they had a grand opening special where their smoked meat sandwiches were $9.99 instead of $14.99 sealed the deal, lol. We got a sandwich to share and added fries for an additional $2.99. The sandwich came with coleslaw and a pickle. I found the sandwich ok. It was no Schwartz's, lol. The amount of meat was satisfactory and at least it was lean. I don't like fatty cuts and I always get lean at Schwartz's even though almost everyone gets medium. I found the bread had a bit of a funky smell (and no not just a rye bread smell, lol) but my husband didn't notice this. I liked that there wasn't an excessive amount of mustard. The coleslaw was creamy and ok. I do prefer a vinaigrette-based coleslaw though. I enjoyed the fries. They were crispy. My husband enjoyed the meal more than I did, so as always, it comes down to personal taste. I wasn't wowed, but if you like smoked meat sandwiches, why not check it out for yourself? Staff were pleasant, but the wait for the food was a bit long. There are a few tables to eat in. Decor is simple. Street parking only. Review #168 (2025)
