We recently visited little locks for shaving my baby's head and baby is 7 months old! I thought they would be careful about how they do it. But the baby's hair was all over her face and it even went into the baby's mouth and eyes and she was crying so much and seemed like they didn't care at all. When they commit to do something they should be careful! She was just 7 month old and we had hard time taking hair out of her mouth! I DONT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL.! read more

Very hectic and crowded space upon entering. No stroller access through the front door and no sign saying there's a back entrance through the alley way. The car chair was dirty. The stylist was running 15 minutes late which didn't effect my day but just noting in case you have a tight schedule. Within 30 seconds of the haircut starting my sons hair was all chopped off, wayyyyy too short and looked nothing like what I asked for. Very upsetting and definitely not a $30 haircut, $5 at best. Worst haircut he's ever had, even worse than the ones I've given him. read more

Terrible experience for my 3 year old- or should I say, lack of experience. We were 8 minutes late to an appointment and was told we lost our place completely. For a place that is build around children I would have expected more adaptability or at least a kind response. This place is the last place you should look to get your child's haircut. We've come here for every haircut for our 2 boys (2.5yo and 10mo) they get pretty nervous so it's great to have the car chairs, tv/movies in front of them and little toys that the stylists can offer them to help make them more at ease. There are also a lot of great toys! We don't cut their hair often but and the toys are mostly pretty low cost/reasonable unlike other boutique toy stores so it's easy to get them a little reward for being patient. The stylists are always great and do an awesome job even when the boys aren't too cooperative. read more

However, at the very end of the cut (without asking us) she just took off all of my son's bangs up to the very top of his forehead. Literally the worst cut. I've taken my son here two times now and it's an understatement when I say that they are amazing! Kim did my son's very first haircut ever (they save some hair and put it on a little certificate, super cute) and Bethany recently did my son's second haircut. They both were super nice and fun for my son which obviously is most important. Love the fact they play a movie in the mirror for the kiddos and that they can sit/drive in car chairs during their haircut! They have a great selection of toys too for after haircut prizes! La Jolla is definitely far for us given our location but we don't mind because it's worth the drive! This place is a godsend for those of us with little monsters who only cooperate when they are squarely seated in a kid-sized race car while watching Paw Patrol. My daughter (3yo) had asked for a haircut for her birthday so after a lot of research I landed on Little Locks. We live out in Chula Vista and I can say hands down it was worth the 35 min drive. Kim cut her hair and was very nice and attentive. My daughter gets shy but Kim kept making sure she was okay and confortable. My son loved it here! The cars, tv, toys makes it easy for kids to trust the hairdressers. They only do basic clips (no line ups, fades, complex cuts) the cuts could be done at home with basic hair cutting knowledge. Fun for first hair cut read more

Extremely rude don't have much of customer service. I have been taken my kid there since his first haircut. The last time I went in without an appointment I was told there are no openings till three hours from time I walked in. Will then you should change your website so it's says appointments only, because three hours wait doesn't mean walk in welcome in my opinion. My daughter had an amazing first haircut by Mylisa! She was so professional, patient, and wonderful with her. My family keeps complimenting her beautiful 'princess' hair style, and my daughter is thrilled! The mirror with a TV screen behind it is ingenious, and the salon's decor is so creative and fun. The salon also contains a toy store, with a lot of unique toys that gave me ideas for her upcoming birthday. She had a blast looking around after her appointment. Went there today with a same day appointment and they were able to accommodate us. My son was very pleased with the service (he is 6 and autistic). He is usually very nervous when it come to anyone cutting his hair. I forgot the lady's name but she listened to everything I asked her to do. She also made sure he was comfortable even when I didn't tell her he was autistic. The place has toys but nothing too exciting. They had plenty of parking on a Sunday afternoon but I'm sure other times I can see it trouble finding a parking spot. This location is in Bird's Rock and their view is amazing. For the place being in that area, their prices are actually decent. Will definitely go back. read more
