Staff is ridiculously friendly and attentive--basically treated me like a long-lost cousin who hadn't eaten in a week. We kicked things off with their fresh, house-baked ciabatta paired with an herb-loaded olive oil and butter combo. The bread was so good I almost forgot I had actual food coming. The play-by-play: Fresh Calamari: Crispy, tender, and served with a killer marinara. Absolutely incredible. Braised Beef Ravioli: You only get four on the plate, but these bad boys are built like linebacker kneepads. Homemade pasta, packed with savory beef, and drenched in a sweet marinara. Spaghetti alle Vongole: Homemade spaghetti tossed with fresh clams in a rich red sauce spiked with garlic, white wine, and fresh herbs. Fantastic flavor. The Pizza: Hey, for Pennsylvania? Pretty solid backup options if you're not going full pasta mode. The best part? All their pasta is made completely fresh in-house, and the portion sizes are strictly "feed a Roman army" certified. The crust is toasty, the sauce is robust. The cheese is baked in and stays in place. The texture is soft yet crispy in all the right spots! This might be a "plain" in terms of toppings, but it's anything but plain in flavor. I actually prefer it sans pepperoni because it's a lot less greasy and there's a lot to savor there that meat eclipses. It's also a generous amount of food if you're hungry and want leftovers, usually they're just as great the next day. I might not be able to return to regular crust! In fact, I was full after one slice, but I really wanted more. I have no idea how they get the perfectly baked texture throughout, but I have no doubt in my mind Marcello's is an amazing choice for a pie. If you're new to the area, you won't be disappointed. You'll instantly see why this is a Carlisle cult favorite!

We used to be frequent patrons; however, tonight marked our final visit due to the complete disregard shown towards the poor quality ribeye steak served, which was predominantly fat and gristle. We addressed this issue with the manager, who merely responded with an indifferent apology. I am astonished by the apparent lack of concern. I intend to share this experience across all my social media platforms, including my TikTok, which has thousands of followers, and I will encourage my friends and family to do the same. But no where is that stated on the menu or when ordering. I also ordered 2 meatballs with sauce, an antipasto salad and the garlic bread it came with, but with just red wine vinegar, not any of the oil based vinaigrette, ranch, etc. dressings they offer. What I got was garlic bread and sliced meatballs in sauce, covered with guess what? "Mozzarella" cheese I didn't ask for and is not stated on the menu. The garlic bread was an oily mess because the cheese melted into its oily state and the only garlic they use is in the bitter I was told. No actual garlic on the bread was visible or tasted. The meatballs were sliced and covered with the gobs of melted mozzarella cheese too. What's with the fascination with adding cheese to melt on everything? The "mozzarella" cheese has no distinguishable taste, nor does the provolone in the antipasto. Possibly lower cost from the supplier so lower quality results. Have these folks heard some people prefer living life a bit more by watching calories and fat intake? We can actually do that by limiting the intake of bad stuff but still enjoy all types of food in moderation. I gave 2 stars because the pizza and antipasto are good or okay and the server was nice as well. But the fascination with melted cheese on everything and not saying it on the menu or checking with the customer first is not only unhealthy for people but wasteful and unwise when customers either return the food for replacement or simply eat it and never come back. I'm mostly vegetarian (technically a flexitarian) and enjoy Italian food which fits into that food lifestyle.
