This was the worst Pizza I've ever had in my life. I've been to a few different actual Little Italy neighborhoods and this bears no resemblance to any of them. The pizza sauce was very sweet, it was very oily and just blah; it didn't taste good, and it didn't feel good. when I asked the girl at the counter for some oregano and red pepper, as first I looked around and did not see the usual salt, pepper, oregano, garlic, etc. anywhere on the counter, She looked at me as if I was speaking a foreign language. She then muttered something about there being red pepper, but did not move to get it. We've been ordering from Little Italy since 2005. My son loves their pizza so we get it from time to time even though I'm always reluctant to spend the money. Their pizzas are great most of the time (and when they're great, they're great!) but not all the time. Sometimes they are undercooked. They are old school. If this didn't get in the way of service, I wouldn't care, but it does. They don't take online orders and they don't have a proper phone system; person answering can barely hear you and has to put you on hold if they're busy. They use a not so good delivery service that you pay $5 for. If you don't remember to tell Little Italy to add a tip to your payment the delivery drivers get no tip. The delivery service is also inconsistent; the last time we ordered, the driver insisted on getting a signature on the check. When we didn't answer the door because we didn't hear the knock, (all other restaurants leave our order outside the front door) they brought the pizzas back to the restaurant. Little Italy proceeded to remake the pizzas - great, except we ended up waiting almost another hour for our delivery. I love this place. I wish I hadn't moved 900 miles away but each visit to Beverly means a trip to Little Italy. It's important to realize they use a sweet sauce on the pizza. The first time I tried it I thought it was terrible. Then a few weeks passed and I kept thinking about it. Finally I gave it another try and have been getting it ever since. I wish they'd bottle their sauce so I could have it more regularly. Little Italy offers great (thinner) pizzas with your more traditional savory sauce or a sweeter sauce. The sweet sauce is an acquired taste, but personally I enjoy the taste. The sweet sauce especially pairs well with salty savory meats such as the linguica, pepperoni, or sausage. On the other hand, their traditional sauce is savory and flavorful and more reminiscent of your traditional pizza. There isn't much more to say-- Little Italy offers great pizzas that come out quick. If you're looking to try something new, I recommend the sweet sauce, but for those that are less adventurous, stick with the traditional. read more

Talked down to me in a condescending, patronizing tone simply after asking if I'd be able to pay over the phone rather than in-store. This pizza is great if you like tomato sauce that tastes like a mix of ketchup + bbq sauce. It's such a shame too bc the crust, cheese, temperature were all perfect. But the tomato sauce tastes awful. Tomato sauce is supposed to be tangy, have some semblance of salt. There wasn't one hint of salt in this tomato sauce. It literally tasted like someone just dumped a bottle of ketchup on top and called it a night. So disappointing because this could be a great pizza but the sauce is so disgusting.
