We had an Ellie's Special pizza and breadsticks as appetizer. The appetizers came out in minutes, hit and tasty. The pizza arrived promptly, and it was pretty good. Good crust, and piled high with toppings! The sauce was ok, not as tangy as I prefer, but that didn't stop me from enjoying the meal! I didn't get the server's name, but she was fast and friendly and cute as a button. We'll be back to work through more of the menu!

I was shocked as it was 100% opposite from the great service at the sister restaurant the Alibi. The cook, Matt, at the Alibi suggested the Ogden club. Very disappointing. The pizza has more cheese than most, the ingredients have more flavor than most and it's cooked better than most. They offer outstanding quality and value that is unexpected for such a small town. I went in on a slow Wednesday afternoon and was immediately greeted by Denise, the bar manager. They didn't have my regular choice of fruity beverage so Denise said, "I got ya" and made me a great mixed drink. On her recommendation, I had the grilled cheeseburger (comes on Texas toast) and the fresh-cut french fries. Wow, absolutely fantastic. Exactly the comfort food I needed after a long day of travel. All the patrons who came in were over-the-top friendly and talkative. When leaving, I told Denise I'd be back someday... Turns out, someday was the next night! When I walked in, the joint was more crowded but as soon as I stepped through the door, Denise yelled, "Fruity drink!" and before I sat down, she was already making the same thing! As a man who will travel unlimited miles for food, you should be surprised that I have never had a…read morepasty before. Especially since I live in Michigan and travel north frequently. For the longest time, I thought they were only things of fairytales, like unicorns or pockets. But you can't travel 8 feet in the UP without being beckoned by a pasty shop. So this pasty establishment was quaint. It had a drive through, a table in the inside and a table on the outside. I mess with that. Sometimes you don't need the extras. Now, as I learned about the pasty, it seemed like the most basic one was beef and rutabaga. Now, everybody knows that nobody knows what a rutabaga is. It's just one of those things that show up in recipes. And because I'm trying this for the first time, I want the full effect. So bring on the baga! Ok, so, since it was nice outside, I decided to sit on the picnic table. They gave me my pasty on a plate with utensils and I ordered 4oz of brown gravy to go with it. I split that bad boy down the middle like the Red Sea and waterboarded it with my gravy. Took a deep breath and dove right in. Listen. I still might not know what a rutabaga is, but I didn't let a single little square of them escape. Everything was hot, the crust was flaky, the gravy thiccc. Why did I never know these things were basically pot pies? I LOVE pot pies. It was gone in minutes. Just wiped out. Like Thanos snapping his fingers. There was nothing I didn't like about it.
