We were on the deck in the back and the delivery guy called me. this is a big deal because I keep my grandbabies and a couple other kids during the day and there is a sign on the front door saying babies may be napping, and please don't ring the doorbell. Thank you Mr delivery guy! They were not here, but I VERY MUCH APPRECIATE YOU!

I really enjoy this build your own pizza concept at Mod's. They have a few preset options, but the…read moreprimary concept revolves around creating your own. You start with 2 size options for the dough, then the sauce, topping, and oven baked. Reminds me of Chipotle's order style, except it's pizza. My go to and recommendation is their mega size with Marinara base, mozzarella cheese, basil, tomato slices, and jalapeño pieces for the extra kick. Sometimes I throw some pineapple on there for a sweet savory taste. Mega is a bit thicker and their equivalent of a large, so might be good for 2 adults to share. Customer service at this location was okay, staff were friendly and were efficient in getting orders in & out. Facilities were kept clean, plenty of dining space at all hours, highly recommend checking this place out. You can smell the pizzas being baked from the Crunch parking lot!

The prices were reasonable for making a custom pizza and the staff were very friendly and helpful. They also had a great list of pre-selected pizza styles that looked really good if you aren't sure exactly what you want since there is a TON of options. The food was absolutely amazing, the crust reminded me of pizza in Italy where it's just thin enough and nice and crispy due to the brick oven. There is a ton of seating for various group sizes, much bigger than it seems on the outside. I look forward to coming back to trying other creative combinations.

As I arrived, I was greeted by a charming stand-alone building with convenient, hassle-free parking right out front. Inside, the atmosphere was incredibly cozy, spotless, and inviting: * Interior Vibe: The ordering area buzzes with brightness and cleanliness, featuring sleek wood-look flooring, warm lighting, and playful touches like pizza-themed signs and a glowing neon pizza peel on the wall. * Wood-Fired Hearth: The highlight of the space is the stunning brick wood-fired oven, where flickering flames and glowing coals crackle as fresh meals are cooked to perfection. The pizza was absolutely fantastic: * Crust: Handcrafted with a flavorful, seasoned finish and just the right amount of rustic, wood-fired char. * Toppings: Generously piled with melted cheese, savory bacon, and juicy, blistered cherry tomatoes. Every bite was a delight, and my experience from start to finish was truly memorable. I highly recommend visiting Southern Fired Foods whenever you're in the area!

I was really hoping to love Southern Fired Foods because several people recommended it as a great…read morespot, and I was genuinely excited to finally try it. Unfortunately, this one was a pretty big disappointment. We placed an order online, and my husband picked it up on his way home. I ordered a cheese pizza, expecting the thin crust that was advertised, but the dough was very thick instead. It also felt like there wasn't nearly enough cheese on the pizza. My husband had the pepperoni with extra cheese and felt the same way -- it just didn't live up to the expectations we had going in. For nearly $30 for two 10-inch pizzas, I expected much more in terms of quality and value. The experience just didn't match the recommendations or the hype. What made it more frustrating was that one of the people who originally recommended it mentioned that he had actually gone the same day and was also disappointed with the quality. He found out the owner wasn't there that day and said that was likely the reason for the difference. I'm giving it 3 stars because I'm willing to believe this may have just been an off day, especially since so many people had great things to say.

The level of disrespect I witnessed towards your staff and patrons Sunday evening was abhorrent. I was embarrassed I had to witness it. Every interaction I had with an employee while I sat waiting for my take-out was quite pleasant and welcoming. You sir, on the other hand chose to speak loudly and belittle your staff...on two different occasions...In plain view, and fully audible. One patron walked by and said 'thank you and bye' to you directly...twice, You couldn't be bothered. I even said thank you as I walked out the door to test the same waters as an experiment. Nope...same treatment from you. Maybe you had a bad day. No excuse if so. I've just never witnessed a display like that, especially at an Italian restaurant. Be better. Not a good look. People are paying attention and will not patronize a local business if the owner and/or management overtly display a temper in front of their guests. Remember what world we're living in. Someone could've easily recorded that display. Don't go viral. Just treat your staff better. Have visited Aiken a lot lately. Everyone is so nice. What's your secret?

First, I want to say that I genuinely like Mellow Mushroom. I have had great food and excellent…read moreservice at both the Hilton Head and Asheville locations. Unfortunately, when it comes to the Aiken, SC location, the experience continues to fall short. I have given this location multiple chances, and at this point, shame on me for expecting this visit to be different. We waited approximately 25-30 minutes to be seated, which I can understand when a restaurant is busy. What I cannot understand is being seated and then sitting at the table for more than 20 minutes without a single employee acknowledging us. No greeting, no waters, and no drink order. I finally went back to the host stand, and a few minutes later the host came over and offered to take our drink order. At that point, we had invested nearly an hour between waiting for a table and waiting for someone to acknowledge us. Having managed multiple restaurants during and after college, what concerned me most wasn't simply that a server was behind. Restaurants get busy. Servers get overwhelmed. People call out. Mistakes happen. The bigger issue was the apparent lack of active floor management. A restaurant manager should be managing the tempo of the restaurant, not simply reacting when a customer finally complains. A good manager should be circulating through the dining room, watching ticket times, monitoring newly seated tables, checking on guests, helping run drinks and food, clearing tables when necessary, and immediately recognizing when a server is overwhelmed. If a table has been sitting for 10-15 minutes without being greeted, management should notice it before the customer has to walk to the host stand. This is especially important in a pizza restaurant. Pizza itself takes time to prepare and cook, so the front-of-house operation should be designed to get guests greeted, drinks delivered, and orders entered quickly. If the kitchen is backed up, tell the customer. Most reasonable people will accept a longer wait when someone communicates with them. What frustrates customers is sitting there wondering whether anyone even knows they exist. Servers also need to work their sections efficiently. In restaurant terminology, every trip should have a purpose. If you're walking through your section, scan your tables. Pre-bus a plate. Refill a drink. Drop off napkins. Check on the table you just served. Pick something up on the way back. Run another server's food or drinks when possible. Good service is about constantly prioritizing multiple small tasks rather than completing one task, returning to the server station, and then deciding what to do next. When a restaurant gets slammed, teamwork becomes even more important. Hosts, servers, bartenders, food runners, bussers, and managers should be working together. A guest shouldn't have to care whose "table" they are sitting at. If you see a customer who needs something, either help them or immediately communicate it to the person responsible. The same applies to management. A manager who sees the floor struggling should be in the middle of it--running food, greeting tables, helping the host stand, filling drinks, clearing tables, and directing traffic. Leadership means recognizing where the bottleneck is and putting yourself where you are most needed. In my current career, time, accountability, teamwork, situational awareness, and taking initiative are extremely important. Obviously, restaurant service isn't life or death, but the basic principles of a high-performing team are surprisingly similar: know your responsibilities, pay attention to what's happening around you, communicate, help your teammates, anticipate problems, and take ownership when something isn't working. Customers are routinely expected to tip around 20% for good service, and I have no problem doing that when the service warrants it. But with that expectation should come a reasonable standard of service--starting with simply acknowledging a customer after they have been seated. I like Mellow Mushroom and know from visiting other locations that the company is capable of providing a much better experience. That's what makes the repeated problems at the Aiken location so disappointing. This location doesn't need employees to move at a frantic pace. It needs attentive servers, teamwork, communication, urgency, and managers who actively manage the floor. When those fundamentals are in place, customers notice. Unfortunately, when they're absent, customers notice that too.

It is really noisy here. The restraunt is not very clean. The bathrooms were disgusting. Looking for another place to eat. We finally got a table. I don't think it was worth the wait. We ordered water and a beer. It took about 20 minutes for them to bring it out. I ordered 10 garlic parm wings. When they came out, they were room temp. The sauce tasted like ranch with a little garlic added then sprinkles of parm put on top. I will not order them again. Best part of the meal was the band that was playing in the alley. The best thing may be salad or pizza because they can both be eaten cold.
