We were just passing along I-30 and decided to stop in Mt. Pleasant for a break from a long trip…read more While exploring the historic downtown, we discovered Laura's Cheesecake--and what a wonderful surprise it turned out to be. We walked into this charming café in the afternoon, just before closing. I asked for their most popular cheesecake, and I was lucky enough to meet Laura, the owner. She kindly guided us to the best choices and even suggested the most cost-effective way to sample a variety of flavors. And the cheesecake? Absolutely the best I've ever tasted--rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. When she learned we still had a two-hour drive home, she thoughtfully packed our cheesecake with ice packs and even included extra samples for us to enjoy later. Her kindness and hospitality truly made the experience special. The café itself is beautifully decorated--clean, cozy, and full of classic East Texas charm. This stop turned into a highlight of our trip. I would absolutely drive two hours back just to visit again and try their brunch!
