I was referred to Little Bear when I was going to physical therapy across the street. I needed work done on my 2018 Kia which was shaking terribly and did not know why. I made an appointment to drop off my car Friday morning. I got a call asking me to bring it in Thursday night at about 5:00 p.m. which I did. The following morning at 7:45 a.m. I went to drop the staff some donuts and I was asked if I was there to pick up my car. I could not believe it was finished. A bolt was never replaced on my steering column by the dealership when they replaced my engine. I was an accident waiting to happen. In any case they are brilliant and caring and punctual and I love this guy. That's it. If I could afford to buy him long stem roses I would. Let me fist put this out there, I have NEVER used a mechanic or repair shop in my life. My father taught me how to do almost everything myself so I have been blessed to not ever need to hire a repair shop. This being said, there are just some things you cannot do due to lack of equipment. This is where little bear comes in. When you are in need of a proper, and I mean proper alignment due to vehicle modifications (coilovers, lowering springs, control arms...) Little Bear is the ONLY place to come to. They have the only floor level alignment rack around and they know what they are doing. Every vehicle I have has been set up by them and I could not be happier. Wow!!! Avoid this place at all costs!!!!! Took my classic camaro there for an alignment and some tires and they cracked the paint on the nose of the car!!! (See pics). I noticed it when I pull it in the garage when I got home and called them back right away, he didn't seem surprised and said come in tomorrow and we'll work something out. He never came out to see the car and denied it at first and then said it wasn't painted correctly??? How did he know what it looked like if he didn't see it the day before??? A lier and a cheat.... They did a good job with the reason I brought my car in, but literally not a mask to be seen by anyone and their cashier office is very tiny. The lady that rang you up didn't give a hoot and expects you not to also. I advise finding another place at this time to get your auto work done if you want to respect their "freedom". By far the best alignment shop in the hudson valley area. They will test drive your car ten times to make sure everything is perfect. They have an in-ground rack which accommodates lowered cars and they'll dial in whatever specs you specify. I've been a customer for years now and they're simply the best and definitely worth the 40 mile drive for me. read more

Beware - they upsell you and say you need stuff you don't. My shop sent me there for an alignment and one part to remove and replace. My shop said the bill should run around $300. Little Bear presented me with an estimate for $2300 - two of the items were just replaced by the shop that sent me there! Enough said. read more

This work was done back in March of 2020. I have a 2004 Jeep WJ, with a 4.5in lift. Now the place that did it, they dont' normally work on older vehicles and to be expected they had trouble. My Jeep was wobbling all over the place. Luckily I have a friend who is a mechanic in Fishkill and told me about Bernie and Little Bear. I am a hardcore DIY'er and very anal about my cars. I only go to shops when I need 1) an Inspection, 2) dynamic tire balancing, or 3) wheel alignment, only because these require professional certification or expensive machinery. I dread these times because I have never found a shop I trust. I came here for the latter 2 procedures. I came about this place because they have the Hunter GSP9700 tire balancing machine (considered the best by enthusiasts) as well as a top-of-the-line Hunter DSP600 wheel alignment machine. I was also impressed that they specialize pretty much only in these 2 procedures. I have a lifted 4x4 with 33x12.5x15 mud terrains, so I liked how this place has experience with big trucks. I also liked how they are not a big chain like Mavis, who has come-and-go employees and just try to process as many customers as possible. I was pleasantly impressed! I finally found a shop I trust! This is saying a lot coming from me, trust me! They took tons of time with my truck - nothing was rushed. They let me oversee everything in the garage. They discovered I had bad suspension components and showed me exactly what they were talking about & educated me on the topic. They understood that I was an adamant DIY'er, so they didn't give me any problems with driving away and allowing me to do the repairs myself and coming back to finish what I came for. When it came to the alignment, they opted against using their machine, which concerned me at first. They claimed test driving and their trained human senses were superior to the machine. They would test drive it down the block, tweak something, test drive it again, tweak, etc. I was convinced. They picked up tiny little things and turned out to be right when it when on the lift. I forget the pricing, but I remember being shocked at such a reasonable price for the amount of time and TLC they put into it. I went here a long time ago, I'm still driving with no problems. 4 plus rating is fair . been going here for 14 years . iv'e had several vehs. aligned here with perfection . straight steering wheel and dead center road control . but I will say my last visit of 2021 was a bit off . my 95 Cherokee sport was aligned and the results were a bit off . steering wheel was several degrees from dead center . it doesn't pull and tire wear is normal so being I'm not close I just let it ride . remember all to often people go to Mavis no discount tire and get the in and out crap wheel alignment . my 2008 ford ranger was aligned in 2010 and has yet to need anything further done . watch those NEW YORK SHIT ROADS read more

Went here on a recommendation and I'm glad I listened. After a recent Jeep JKU suspension upgrade, I wanted to find a good shop that knew Jeeps well. The mechanic that worked on my Jeep was very thorough, perfect alignment, steering wheel adjustment... but more importantly he answered a number of questions and made some great recommendations for other upgrades I could consider. Great place to get your car fixed. I brought my Honda here for an oil change and they did it. Unlike many other mechanics, they did not find a million other things wrong with my car. They did suggest replacing my windshield wipers (which I did), but other than that they said my car was in good shape. I will definitely give them another go when I need more major work. read more
