Being in her presence felt like being under the milky way - soft, expansive, and overflowing with light. So when I had the chance to begin attending her Qigong classes, I was in! No matter what my energy levels are, I always benefit from showing up to class for what I call my weekly "light bath." Steffi's tinkling spirit and sweet-sounding voice always speaks to me in her transmission of mellifluous light. I highly recommend the work of this nurturing being who gives her deep gifts with passion and grace.

As a complete newbie to the world of qigong and tai chi, I feel incredibly lucky to have found this…read morestudio on my first try. The location on Queen Street W is a bit of a trek for me, but it is absolutely worth it. The instructor, Paul, is a true master of his craft and exudes a calm, welcoming energy that immediately puts you at ease. His experience shines through, and honestly, he gives off major Avatar Aang vibes. From the first class, I felt like I was channeling my inner airbender, gracefully manipulating the elements... though let's be real, I was mostly fumbling through the movements and probably looked less like a bender and more like a confused flamingo. The key is, it didn't matter. The environment is completely no-pressure. A few practical notes: The studio is up a steep flight of stairs, which could be an accessibility issue for some. It's also located directly across the street from my favorite stationery shop, which was mercifully closed after my first few classes, saving my wallet from certain doom. The same can't be said following this Saturdays class when it was open. I jumped on the excellent newbie deal for 14 days of unlimited classes and have already become a fixture at the 7 pm sessions this week, plus went again today to an awesome Saturday class. The slow, rhythmic instruction is exactly what the doctor ordered, leaving me feeling like I've had a genuinely good, gentle workout. I also tried a meditation class after one of the tai chi sessions, and it was equally impressive. Despite the journey, I can easily see myself making the trip a few times a week. If you're looking for a fantastic, non-intimidating place to start your tai chi journey with a truly gifted teacher, I can't recommend this place enough.

Leigh is sensitive, patient and professional, and also knows how to kick your butt into shape! I don't do well in a corporate gym setting, so to have a trainer who will come to me for a session in my condo or even in the park is an awesome alternative. Here's a bit from the website: "Prime Fitness was founded by two sisters with a vested interest in health, fitness and well-being. Leigh Graham, an experienced fitness specialist with a Kinesiology degree, and Lara Jacob, a qualified Nutritional consultant (and Naturopathic doctor candidate), we are confident that we can help you with all of your fitness, health and nutrition goals. We also make it convenient for you by visiting you right in your home!" I would recommend Leigh to anyone who needs a personal trainer, regardless of their age or fitness goals. She is a pleasure to work with, insomuch as working out can be pleasurable....

(No pressure) I started off with the warm up package so I could get my eating on track as well. Leigh and Lara were amazing.. Lara helped me get back on track and figured out exactly what I need to do with my diet in order to reach my goal considering that I was still feeding my son. Leigh came to my house each session and worked with not only my environment, but my new son's mood. some days we needed to incorporate him and she didn't miss a beat. Each session, she read my ability and matched it to perfection. I pushed myself like I had never done before. I reached my goal in in the end which was huge (I gained 40 pounds, lost 20 in the first 8 weeks and 20 with the team). I not only fit into my dress but feel so much better and have the energy I need to get through the day. I look better than I did before the baby, I kid you not. I highly recommend. HIGHLY. But I see the difference. After only twice a week. She works with where you are that day and is able to do that on the fly. Your middle aged random whatever ache is flaring up, we can deal with that! I am leaner and i see the muscle definition that I haven't seen in awhile, living through an extremely high stress job and the pandemic and not really taking care of myself. She also has an app where she can put your extra workouts or morning stretching routine or whatever you need. I reached out to a number of trainers when I was looking for someone and she was the first one I actually met with in person. And I knew she was my person. I didn't meet with anyone else. And I have worked with a lot of trainers at various places in my life and fitness regime. She was my trainer. I knew when I met her. You will probably get more than your money's worth if you go to Jessica. She genuinely cares and will put effort into extra research on what you are going through or giving you programs to do on your own. She will give you as much or as little extra support as you need. She is also a genuinely good human I enjoy seeing. So definitely reach out to her if you are looking for a trainer!
