There were many toys that made noises, rocking horses, a large green dome with holes, and a smaller playground with slides. They are still fundraising to build a playground for children 5-12 years old. Once that playground is built I'm sure it will be even more of a hit for families. The playground and tennis courts are merely separated by a parking lot therefore it is easy to transition between the two. Our four year old has begun taking tennis lessons from her daddy and we usually do not have to wait for an opening in the morning. There are four tennis courts and they are well maintained. Our 2.5 year old does not share the same interest as her sister and her attention span is relatively short. So after participating in a few drills and playing ball girl, she would request to go to the playground. The playground has a rubberized surfacing with several climbing structures, four slides, a swaying boat, and swing set. The playground does not get overly crowded and there are plenty to keep our girls entertained. There is a sheltered section that's great for families to hang out when it gets overly hot. There is one small con though - the only bathroom is a porta potty by the parking lot. Fortunately we have yet to make use of it and I hope it stays that way.

They have a variety of events that are included with admission as well as events that require an additional purchase. There is a small café that sells drinks and small bites. I have tried a few different lattes and they were good. They also have a restaurant and their food always smells delicious, but I have yet to try anything from there. The restaurant itself has a beautiful view of their lake. I definitely recommend a membership if you live nearby and plan to visit multiple times a year. Another great benefit of the membership is the reciprocity to other gardens throughout the country. A great value!

This is the second time I've gone to the Morton Arboretum for their Illumination event, and it's…read morebeen fantastic both times. Despite the fact it was cold outside, we enjoyed the various light installations, especially with the freshly fallen snow to set the mood. I didn't take as many pictures this time, I was too busy enjoying the lights - the lantern section this year was my favorite! They do a great job with making sure the path is cleared and there are places you can step off of it so you're out of the way if you want to take pictures or just want to be by an installation for a while. You can't get lost, they have signs and people posted to help make sure foot traffic keeps moving in one direction. I think the cost is fair, if you're a member it's a bit cheaper, but we are not. Giving it 4/5 stars for this last experience because there were supposed to be fire pits along the path but there were none this time, just one heated tent that was packed, so we didn't have another way to warm up a bit during the mile long walk. I do look forward to going again next year!

There are no public restrooms but there is a port a pot across the parking lot. You can use the restrooms at the sea lion aquatic park if you're there after 4pm. Across from the park/ aquatic area...you will find a large lake with a walking path. This is the perfect area to go for a long walk. Overall-- kids love this playground and adults love the walking path on a beautiful day!!

The sea lion pool is right behind the park so it's a great place to spend the day!! We usually come to the park and pack a lunch so that we can hangout for a while. There are picnic tables but we usually just bring a blanket and sit in the shaded areas. The only downside to this play area is that there is no regular bathroom. Luckily there are baseball fields close by so there are Porta Pottys at least. During the summer time, the park district hosts fun concerts, it's called the totally Tuesday events. Just watch for all the campers, it can get crowded!!

They are disturbingly easy to please is what I'm saying, so I'll just tell you what I like about this park. There's a small parking lot. The park itself is set away from the street and parking lot. There's a relatively clean porta potty. There's plenty of shady areas including a shelter with some picnic tables. There's also a tennis court and a baseball diamond. Cool, fine, I'm just glad my kids enjoy themselves. What I REALLY like about this park is that it's got a four square AND hopscotch court. So whenever we go there I can be ready to school anyone who steps to me. 'Cause I keep my hopscotch game on point y'all!
