I started out my search for Starbucks themed sugar cookies, and Stephanie came highly recommended by several people in our community. Upon finding out she did cakes, I mentioned to my daughter in law that she could maybe do a cake, and she contracted with her to do so. The cookies were delicious, as was the cake. It's hard to find someone to make anything with the Starbucks logo, which we completely understand. Who wants to get sued by Starbucks, right? So, she agreed to make the cookies shaped like coffee cups with coffee decor; and she nailed it. She also made a frappuccino cake (standing) - and offered to drive up when me met for pick up because it was sliding, and she wanted to be sure it was going to make it to the party; and also do do some touch ups on the decorating. Stephanie and her family drove from Novato to Santa Rosa and delivered the cake. It was an expensive cake. $120.00 ... and about twenty minutes or so after she left the room, we all left to play laser tag; upon returning, we saw that the top half of the cake was gone, it slipped off and fell behind the table. :/ I did send Stephanie a photo of the cake. There were also misspellings on the cookies of the word "coffee" that I didn't notice until after the cake fell apart. Let me say, it was delicious!!! The cake was melt in your mouth moist, the icing was delicious and the cookies were too!!! I know that there was a family emergency two days before our order was due; and stress can have a negative effect on all of us. I would recommend her to others, I mean, baking is a constantly evolving process and my Granddaughter hates fondant; so that was all buttercream icing on a standing cake, instead of a sheet cake shaped like a cup of coffee. Four stars to Stephanie and her kind family, and extremely polite children!! Thank you for helping our family make Amaya's party a dream come true.

For dessert we shared the princess cake, which was definitely the highlight. The whipped cream layer was so light and airy and balanced perfectly with the cake. It wasn't overly sweet. I initially didn't contact her because her site said she was sold out for several weeks. However, in desperation, I wrote to her after many bakers in the area let me down with their non-responsiveness, leading me on with a first response, and then not replying to my questions. I literally was left within 10 days of needing a cake and was getting super worried. I was so delighted when she responded the next day saying she would see what she can do! I immediately sent her a list of 9 questions as well as a sketch of what I was hoping to see to match the feel of the event (see below). She responded and answered all my questions the next morning (she even apologized for the late response) I know other bakers probably are not used to seeing sketches, but I am a very selective designer myself and have ordered cakes for so many other occasions (never with a sketch), only to have been disappointed with their lack of understanding style, taste and presentation quality. A mid-century birthday is pretty big and I was determined to get something unique, delicious, masculine and gorgeous, and found it with Live Love Bake! To feed a small group of 22 people, I ordered a 9" single tier Yellow cake with a caramel drizzle and crushed sea salted butter toffee pecan filling, (pecans supplied by me), American buttercream frosting done smooth with gold pearls coming up from the bottom (also supplied by me due to the urgency). It was gorgeous, delicious, and just as I sketched! All I had to do was add the succulents to the top:) The next day after the party, a few friends contacted me asking for Lindsay's contact info. They loved the cake, which for Marin Foodies, is a huge compliment! I will continue to order all future special cakes from Live Love Bake and Lindsay's amazing understanding to detail as well as customer service! He always seems to have an edge but today I was shocked by how nasty he behaved towards me. I wouldn't be surprised if he was equally rude to the young man who was trying to help me. I understand he may be very unhappy but to display personal problems at work I consider unacceptable. I would like to avoid this store in the future but it's very close to where I live.
