Todd is incredibly responsive, he answers the phone when I call and is excellent at emailing a great quote. He followed up a day before his crew came out to be sure everything was in order. They took down a massive ash tree in my back yard that hung over the house and they did it meticulously, they protected my yard so that it was not chewed up by the equipment. They also took down another very large tree close to the street and did it without blocking the subdivision traffic. They stump ground the stumps and cleaned up every branch and twig that fell. My yard was left immaculate. His entire crew was professional and polite. And if that was not enough, I asked him to look at a tree for my very pregnant neighbor whose husband was away with the military and not only did he look at it, his crew spent hours removing it and cleaning up her yard for free as a way to say thanks for their service to the country. Liscombe did an excellent job taking care of our trees. He was one of four bids that we received, and he seemed to be the right person to do the job. His bid was received by email the same day with all appropriate backup papers such as proof of workers comp and proof of liability insurance were included. We were put on the schedule with a call the day before with a scheduled time of arrival. The crew arrived on time with all the appropriate equipment and then some. They went right to work and completed the job in about 2 plus hours. They cleaned up all debris. We were very pleased with the job. It included pruning 2 maple trees, removing some broken branches from an additional Maple. Removing a large broken piece from a oak, and removing another that had got hid by a tornado some years back that we had not done anything with. Beginning from the first phone call, coming by for an estimate then to the day of service we cannot say enough about this business. Not only that the bid was the best we had gotten from three other tree services, Todd gave us the best bid. Todd and his employees are professional. When his crew came to take down two of our trees, one in the front yard and the other in the backyard which was in the corner with another tree close to it, that was not a problem for them to do their job. The three men worked like a well oil machine. You could tell they knew what they were doing. They worked hard clearing the cut branches as they fell to the ground and when finished made sure all of the area was cleaned up. A fantastic job! Crew arrived on time with an impressive array of equipment, and got right to it, working efficiently and non-stop until they'd removed five large pin oaks and trimmed other trees. They did a beyond-expectation cleanup job, too...cleaning as they progressed. We watched some real tree experts at work. We'd gotten several bids, and Liscombe's was not the lowest, but was by far the best VALUE. It looked that way before we made our decision, and now we are sure of it. They brought in a crane to handle a huge pin oak that was situated between our home, garage and two patios. Frankly, I'd expected some damage as it was a dicey situation...but these guys were careful! Thanks to not being shy about equipment, they were able to accomplish the job in one day--others said it would take two to three. Just a disclaimer my neighborhood in St Peters allowed Bradford Pears to be planted, of the 7 original these are the last 2, the rest due to being blow down or blight are gone. Called Liscombe and Joe the estimator came out and gave me a good deal (after 3 other companies that wanted 4x to do a full pruning, which in the grand scheme wont help these sad trees). Due to storms and previous work i was on the floating schedule so took about 5 weeks to before they could get to me. Today they came out and the crew of three was polite and went right to work trimming the edges of the trees to allow them to survive some more years. The lead guy worked with me to ensure we were on the same page and I am satisfied. Going to post some pictures. I have used Liscombe Tree Service twice to remove three dead/dying trees. They had the best price and were always friendly and on time. They do a great job cleaning up fast and efficiently. I had some pretty massive trees and they were able to take them down quickly and safely. One of my trees was in the electrical wires with a tiny gate to access the back yard backing up to another house and they were able to get in the back yard and take down the tree without damaging any of my fences, property, or my neighbors property. The only drawback is they get booked up so far in advance that you have a wait a few months for an opening-but that seemed to be the norm for all tree service companies I spoke with so it wasn't an issue for me to wait patiently. I have recommended them to everyone looking for tree removal. read more

We called Liscombe to come and give us a bid and also provide some direction on what trees needed to be removed. They were very good to not press anything and gave great advice. So we asked for a bid. It was very reasonable and less than we expected based on our experience with other tree companies. They came this week with the whole crew (well there were a lot of workers) and took care of three large trees and some limbs in about three hours. They were very careful in their work and left the yard looking great. They were courteous and professional. Really a pleasure to work with. This was the first time I have ever had a positive experience with a tree service. It was just slick and good from the get go. Came out for estimate and we went over all my concerns... gave me a verbal estimate on site that day and emailed same estimate to me later that afternoon.... We scheduled and they called to confirm the day before... the crew arrived a little earlier than we scheduled for (which was fine with me!...) and got right to work.... everything was removed as discussed. I appreciated that the foreman took the time to talk with me about some concerns he had about removing one of the limbs over my roof. They took the time to be very conscientious regarding clean up of my yard and some leaves and twigs that had ended up in my neighbor's driveway... A neighbor and I had bad experiences with several other services delaying or not showing up, and one who started the job, but then decided he had not priced it right and wanted to charge us more to finish. We were so thankful to find Liscombe (based on reading other reviews on yelp). They finished my tree and took down my neighbor's dying oak, working in small areas in the back yard. They trimmed some other trees. They did stump grinding and even removed the chips (though other companies said they leave a pile of chips). Everything was cleaned up. The crew was very professional. Absolutely amazing work! I had 3 estimates and Todd didn't just give me an estimate, he gave me an education on what was best for my situation. He wanted to meet in person to provide a detailed analysis and worked around my hectic schedule. I had 2 very large silver maples that needed trimming. One was in bad shape and together we decided it needed to be removed. Todd had all the proper insurance in place for my protection. He was professional and courteous. The day of the job, my dad came over to my home since I was working. The estimate was timely and fair, and the service was scheduled quickly. The crew showed up when expected and spent 2 days on my property trimming a very large maple as well as a few other trees, removing a couple dead trees, and clearing the honeysuckle and grapevines off a large, overgrown section of the property. They were extremely professional. They worked efficiently and did a great job making everything look exactly the way I wanted it to look. The maple they trimmed was over my pool and pool lights, and the crabapple they removed was over the hot tub. Easy to work with. This is the second time I've used Liscombe to remove large dead trees on our property. Again, the quote appointment was easy to set up. Joe and the other folks are friendly, competent, and clear. Electric wires needed to be made safe before tree removal and they dealt with the electric company (yay!). The trees were removed quickly and cleanly and the guys that did the work were friendly and respectful of me and our property. All around a good, reliable experience. The only addition I have is that their prices have definitely increased. They were downright cheap compared to other services the first time I used them. I met with Joe Ward for a free estimate. He gave me a fair BID, not the lowest or the highest but right in the middle. I gave them the job because I liked Joe and what he had to say about Liscombe Tree Service. Well on the day the job was scheduled the wind was kicking up and I was afraid I might get more of the old 25 foot Pear tree coming down on my deck or house. I called Joe and he and the owner Mr. Liscombe showed up with a large crew and equipment and in just over an hour had the entire tree down, chipped up and loaded into a very large truck. We called Todd regarding my in-laws tree, in the back yard that had partially fallen onto their patio--needless to say they were very concerned--Todd came out the next day--assessed the situation and removed the portion of the tree that had fallen--quote/bid was very fair--quality of work was superb and efficiency especially at clean up was top notch--the entire process was trouble-free from the beginning--my Father-in-law said " I don't know who you know or called but they were just the BEST!" Liscombe was quick to come out and give us a quote. We were quoted a reasonable price, especially given that two of the trees were near structures and one was a particular pain to get down. The original time frame for them to begin the job was about three weeks after the quote, but they were able to squeeze us in within a week of booking. The crew came out on a day when weather conditions weren't ideal. It was cold and rainy, but they stayed to complete the entire job within a couple hours. I had a pretty simple tree trim and was concerned that it was to small for a company the size of Liscombe, but I called them anyway. They were the second company to come out and give us an estimate. Not only were they half the cost, the could come out the next day to get the job done. 4 men came out, took their time to figure out just how to do things, got the job done to our liking, and was cleaned up and ready to head out in about 40 minutes.
