I walked in right behind David, who had just gotten back from lunch (food in hand!) and I asked if they had time for me. David took me immediately and put his lunch away. I've been to many nail salons trying to find "that" experience..the one we all look for when receiving a service. Comfortable, clean, and relaxing. None of the salons I've ever been to have checked every box..or even verbally communicated with me during my appointment...until I walked in to KD Nails and sat with David. The whole first appointment, David and I had conversation, and it was light and engaging. It was a breath of fresh air to be spoken to during my appointment and not just sitting in awkward silence! It was a great appointment and i realized that I have found my salon! I went for a couple more appointments, perfect experience each time, and he remembered our conversations and things that were going on in my life that we had spoken about. It was really a very personal experience. I booked yet another appointment and added a pedicure to it. The pedicure was so nice and relaxing, and she made sure I was comfortable the entire time! I have been back about 5 or 6 times since my first walk-in appointment, and I will continue to go to KD Nails for all of them, and I live in Manchester! Although David is leaving soon, Katie will be taking over my nails! I had my first appointment with her today and it was just as good as every other appointment I've had there. They make you feel like family, welcome and very personable. Thanks guys!!

Made an appointment at 11:30AM 1/2/2026, arrive at 11:27AM and was not sat in a chair until…read more12:15PM. Hanna got me back into her chair and started on my manicure, she roughly filed down my pre-existing regular nail polish and after I explained I wanted to keep the length of my nails regardless of the uneven appearance as I had a nail break and wanted to keep the other long while it grew. She proceeded to argue with me that the uneven length looks bad and that I should do a round shape. After explaining that is not what I wanted she insisted it would just "look better" and what I wanted wouldn't look good- my nails were not drastically different heights, one nail simply was broken and all the others were similar lengths. She then continued to insult my nails while rushing through her work and being sloppy, inevitably covering me in the nail polish she was carelessly removing then blaming it on me saying it was "too thick" - I put two thin layers of color on my nail then a top coat. She then proceeded to use the electronic file and gouge my nails, will update when I remove this material as I saw deep cuts into my nail from her heavy handed filing. She then proceeded to start laying the builder gel without any cuticle prep when there was still old nail polish all around my nails. While doing the color she continues to rush through it carelessly and gets color and builder gel all over my hands, proceeding to blame the other staff saying they don't put the colors away correctly even though the mess was due to her rushing and swiping the brush all over my hands. As you can see in the photos on the day it was done it already looks a week overgrown from rushed work with no attention to detail. All the nails are different shapes as well from carelessness. My cuticles are not done and you can still see the pink old nail polish leftover all around the sides and cuticles. Extremely disappointed for the money I paid. Went with my mother and she was also extremely disappointed in her nails.

When I called to book a pedicure, a man answered the phone and it sounded like he was driving in…read morethe car--however, he said they had availability for 11:45 so I booked it. When I got there, the staff were friendly but all three were busy with clients. I waited a very long time to be seen despite the appointment. I couldn't help but to feel bad for the women working because it started to dawn on me that the man who said there was availability for an 11:45 appointment was likely (driving) thus not at the salon and didn't check with them if they could take clients at that time. This is just my speculation. Anyways, after about 15 minutes of waiting, I was taken back to the pedicure area. They filled up the water which was very hot at first. There was only one woman giving a pedicure, and it became clear that I would be waiting for her to be finished and she looked about half way through. I waited so long that the scorching water was body temperature, and nobody gave me an update despite not being taken until about 35 minutes after my appointment time. As an aside, the salon was very dirty. Honestly I wanted to leave after sitting in the (cooling) foot bath for so long, but I'm a people pleasure and felt bad just getting up. But I was battling black flies, and noticed bugs crawling on the floor. There was dust and hair all along the base boards and corners, old nail polishes strewn about underneath things and the trash in the pedi area was overflowing. There were dirty fish tanks that looked like fish hadn't lived in them for weeks. Gross!! The only reason I gave two stars is because the woman who did my nails did a decent job. She didn't file until after the gel was applied so that some of the gel color actually appears scraped off at the top. Also, the tools used are not disposable or individually packed or not even sitting in a sanitizer. I ended up taking my chances here for last minute Sunday availability, but rest assured won't be coming back.
