My cousin found this place online and we stopped by hoping for some good fried chicken. Not much flavor at all and the hot sauce wasnt very good it looked like they got it from a chinese food place. Was hoping for better hot sauce to go with fried chicken. Some of the fried chicken strips were rubbery or maybe it was a little under cooked. Cole slaw not very good an hush puppies too dry. The drive thru could use some upgrades and adjustments. Maybe widen it or create an area specifically for customers waiting. Sometimes when customers wait right out front there is some congestion that is created. The congestion might escalate to more serious issues in the future. I tell you what, it was so good I almost went back today, and I am fighting the temptation right now, not to go. Because being overweight I cant eat that everyday. You won't find a better bang for your buck.. OR bigger chicken tenders ANYWHERE. The tenders remind me a lot of chicken express tenders, but they are HUGE! Always hot and fresh. Never soggy and cold. Perfect light crunch on the outside, excellent quality white breast meat on the inside. We get a huge box of tenders with a box of rolls and a box of fries.. we eat on that for literally three days. It's SUCH a delicious value. I only had one bad experience where we showed up 30 minutes before close and were told they were sold out of chicken.. wouldn't make anymore tenders for us because they wanted to pack up and go home. My issue is they can't seem to get a simple order correct and when I called them to find out what they would do the manager had the nerve to say that her employee remembers he definitely put the coleslaw in my order. When I informed her I was not running a coleslaw scam and he actually had not put in my bag she said I could drive back to the store and they'd fix the order. I just didn't appreciate the attitude and non apologetic manner this manager displayed. Never once did she admit fault or say im sorry. I didn't realize that I lived so close to a Lisa's which made me then want to go to this location. I've had the chicken which is average but good overall at events or potlucks. I wanted to try something different while I was here for the first time and i ordered the catfish and okra. Waited about 4 minutes for it while I was taking pictures to post here on Yelp. Lol The store was very clean and the employee that took my order was very nice as well! All I have to say is The catfish was amazing! It was hot crunchy on the ends and soft all at the same tine. Great chicken and fried fish at low prices! Chicken strips were lightly breaded, not too much. Dark meat good too. A little more greasy, but that might be the (dark) chicken's fault. Catfish fillets were breaded with a different batter. There was less breading (which I liked) than the chicken and I liked the corn meal base. Friend of mine tells me the other day this place had the best fried catfish he has had lately. I asked him if he preferred it or another local place we both like, and he said he liked Lisa's better. So, I had to give it a try when I was over this way, at the Pioneer Parkway location. He was right, this is the best fried catfish I currently know of. Corn meal breading isn't heavy, just right for me. Big thing I judge catfish on, is how much of a "slime factor" it has after cooking. Here, it was NONE. Not sure how to explain it, it tasted like catfish, but it wasn't that heavy fishy taste you get at some places. I got two huge pieces of catfish filets, two sides, roll and drink for $6+. Broke a piece open, it looked perfect. Very good, for my tastes anyway. Frozen crinkle cut fries are the usual standard, fried okra was good, but I like mine cooked a little longer, but not an issue for me. I order a couple pieces of yard bird and a piece of catfish just in case, one of them has to be good right. Well, I will cut to the chase. Both would make you slap someone. Good??? I wish we had one of these closer to the North side DFW airport, as Chicken Express and Golden chic would be in deep kimchi! Not only was the food good, but the value for money was perfect. Had to knock off two stars for lack of service and unsanitary bathroom. I ordered the catfish combo and six wings. The fish was a little underdone, however, it was still great. The wings are a little spicy and they're super super good. I have been to Lisa's Chicken twice now. First time just on a quick lunch break, and wasn't a fan of the macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders and fries were good. And this second time I was trying to feed more people and wanted to make sure I had more than enough and leftovers. I ordered the 15 piece mixed with 2 large sides and 7 rolls. I also added 2 pieces of Catfish that end up being way huge, and it all came to $23 something with tax. It took less than 5 minutes for my order to be ready, it was hot, fresh and the guy at the counter was friendly and patient for me until I knew what I was ready to order. I just wish there was a location closer to my place! I love KFC, and Popeyes, but I thought I got way more for my money then I would've at either place so it worked out good. read more
