I am writing this review because I think this is very important for customers to be aware and for the owner to be aware. So I received a gift card for my birthday of $150 for this business. I had the scalp cleaning and a massage. I want to emphasize that the lady who did my service was very kind and did a wonderful job and I have absolutely no complaints about her. However when I came to pay, I believe she called the owner or manager about applying my gift card for the service. I paid for the remaining of the service and included a 20% tip. The lady gave me her phone to speak with the manager/owner I assume and asked if the lady did a good service. I said she did a great job. The manager/owner proceeded to say that the lady who did my service was very sad that I did not give her a $40 tip because it was a 2 hour service that requires a lot of time and energy. Mind you, this service is already $208 which is already very expensive, so to ask me to pay a bigger tip and to say I should pay $40 instead as a tip is so unprofessional. Business owners need to understand that tipping is OPTIONAL. Customers are not solely responsible for their worker's hourly wage!! Tipping is a bonus!! After reading some of these negative reviews with customers having problems trying to use a Groupon, I truly feel like the owner/manager didn't like that I used a gift card to pay for the majority of the service and maybe that's why there was a fuss in wanting me to tip more. That's just my theory. The lady who did my service did a great job but I will not be coming back to this place because of how uncomfortable the manager/owner made me feel and her unprofessionalism. My sister was visiting me from out of town so I wanted to take her to experience a head spa. I had gone before to one in Garden Grove but didn't want to make that drive since I live in Pomona. I did a Yelp search and found Lis Head spa and loved how clean and cute the pictures looked for inside. I booked an appointment for the #5 treatment which was a scalp and upper body treatment for us and we absolutely LOVED IT! The ladies were so nice and professional and ensured we were comfortable. My sister kept saying this was the most relaxing experience ever! Having a body massage on top of the head spa experience was simply the best! I loved how the technicians did the scalp analysis before and after to show the difference in our scalps once the treatment was completed. We also loved the products they used. The experience I had at the head spa in garden grove was that they didn't full blow dry my hair. I have thick hair so I completely understand but I loved that Lis head spa had Dyson blow dryers and they fully dried and brushed my hair out so I greatly appreciated that! I also love how they were open later which worked perfect for my sister since she's a mom and wanted to put her son to bed before we went to our appointment. DO NOT COME HERE!!!! They are money hungry people who will have you pay for your services then tell you you cannot use it. I purchased on groupon then scheduled my appointment. I then get a text saying I cannot use my voucher, I own a business and when me stopped using groupon we still allowed everyone who purchased one to use it and took it off groupon so no other people could purchase. My voucher says it doesn't expire till April 17th yet I cannot use it. I also just heard from a friend how disgusting this place is and now i'm kind of happy I didn't come. I enjoyed the head massage over all. I did buy the Groupon online days before going. But did not appreciate at the end what seemed to be the owner was telling us we had to tip $15 and up per lady and started giving us a speech about Covid and how times are hard. Which was a bit uncomfortable and you felt obligated to tip that. I felt like they were trying to compensate for having the promotion. I am really disappointed. I recieved a Groupon from my best friend for my birthday in December. She got the package that included both of us. I haven't seen her in a long time and we had planned a whole day of mommy wellness time. Leading up to the day, we attempted to book our spot, we picked a good time to work with our planned day. My friend mentioned that she bought the groupon and was planning on using it. Unfortunately she was told that the head spa was under new ownership and the Groupon cannot be used and was basically told that it was her problem and to get a refund with Groupon. This was such an embarrassment for her and it ruined our plans for the day. We had to find something else to do. When my friend tried to get her money back, she was told that they can only give her Groupon credit in the amount she paid which was $150. This was the 1st time she had used Groupon. The owner of this spa does not consider that the people who bought the Groupon whether it be for a gift or themselves, is put of the cost of the service. Additionally, now they have the problem of taking their time to haggle with Groupon. Last, adjust their plans. I have looked at other reviews and I can see that is has happened to multiple people who bought the Groupon. I also did a bit of searching and the ownership has not changed and the excuse she is giving is FALSE. That is just wrong. I'm so happy a head spa opened in the area so I don't have to drive all the way to SGV for this experience! They are so welcoming and accommodating. I was able to walk in today and was seen right away! I chose to do the classic and I was so shocked how much came with that package with the price I was paying! They definitely went above and beyond. This is by far my favorite head spa because they do not waste a second of the service time. If they are not washing your hair they are massaging some part of your body. They really put in the work to make you feel relaxed and that's exactly what I was looking for. After the service, they blow dry your hair and add oxygen serum, hair growth treatment, high frequency comb and so much more! They also do the scalp analysis before and after the service so you can see the difference! I think the pricing is relatively reasonable maybe even too low for what they provide during the service. I love love loved my experience and I will definitely be coming back with friends and family :) I recommend anyone looking for a relaxing and well worth experience to try this place out! read more
