This is by far my absolute most favorite liquor store. Not only are the owners Billy, his wife and son Kyle the best (like family), but they have absolute everything you need. If they don't, they always ensure they will have or help you locate where you can find something. I've been coming here for the last 3 years and absolutely refuse to step foot inside any other store (that and i feel like i'm cheating on them if i do). Also absolutely convenient living a mile away. By far the friendliest staff and cleanest store. Its nice just to pop in and say hi as well. Love this place , but love these people as well:) read more

Very arrogant, very conceited, they don't take The Times even acknowledge that you exist. They just give you your stuff and go if that's what you want.Good luck , otherwise the prices are way too high for tempe read more

Just left the store and that then the owner so nice he was showing me everything in the store and I got this cute goodie bag that has a fun mango drink it highly recommend also if you're looking for allocated bourbons! read more

Liquor Express - Ghost Tequila! - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

What used to be this one of the best liquor stores in AZ is now a shell of its former self. New ownership turned this place into hell. Prices are ridiculous. Service has tanked. They fired their best employee and one of the more knowledgeable people in the world of alcohol. Sadly, I've spent my last dollar ever here. read more

This place is great! They get pretty regularly good limited bottles of bourbon. That are not like all the others. If they have a bottle of Weller it's the cost of Weller not $139 like some of the other stores that hoard the allocated stock and mark up 10-20x. I have met the owner and his mom and they are fantastic! This is and will always be the best liquor store in AZ!! read more

Liquor Express - A few bottles I've purchased at Liquor Express - Beer, Wine & Spirits Near Me - Tempe, Arizona

Knowledgeable staff and super helpful. I loved grabbing this store's store picks. Will definitely go back when I'm in town.

This place is an absolute joke. Inventory is way overpriced but they try to sell you items in bundles to move through more inventory. If the bundles were priced fairly it might be a different story, but even those are wildly expensive. Save yourself the trip and DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! read more

Ignore the old 5-star reviews, this place is under new management and it has gone down hill BIG TIME! Bourbon and beer prices are completely crazy, they charge 10x on some "allocated" bourbons and beers and hope some sucker will pay it. Don't support this business! read more

They play favorites with females. You're better off going to Bad Habits (talk to Tina) or Skyline Liquor (talk to Steve). They treat you like you don't deserve to be there when you're the person keeping them in business. Definitely not a good look. read more

Hands down the best liquor store in the valley! Great selection of hard to find specialty fine liquors as well as being well stocked on the normal choices in beer wine and liquor. But beyond that the employees are helpful and knowledgeable. Mark is friendly, and goes out of his way to help you find what you want. I live in south chandler, but I'll be making the drive here regularly now that I've found this hidden gem. Want something more than what ya find at your local grocery store? Stop in here, you won't be disappointed! And say hi to the employee of the year Mark! read more

Higher prices, no covid precautions or enforcing of masks, staff eating in front of customers instead of assisting them, store was so warm I'm sure some of the alcohol was spoiled. Definitely not getting my business in the future. read more

This is the best local owned store I've been to. Not only are they family owned... THEYRE CHEAP!!!! They have EVERY alcohol you can imagine! Even stuff total wine and more doesn't have.. they remember me when I walk in, they have Apple Pay. I get in and out QUICK. If you're a new college student who is 21+ I highly recommend this store as your main liquor store. They're fabulous! read more

I called maybe 15 min prior to closing. My husband and I were looking all over for an open liquor store for a particular drink (I shall not say because we don't want it to get hyped up) but we found this little gem. Of course we hit every red light on our way, but the owner let us in after closing. He had a positive mood and didn't make us feel bad at all! I'm so glad we found a liquor store that is open past 11! I'm so glad we found a liquor store with friendly customer service. I'm so glad we found a liquor store with multiple flavors of the drink! read more

Today is Thanksgiving Day and not only am I thankful for Yelp, but I'm thankful for this liquor store! Their selection of craft beer here is nothing short of amazing! Being from So. Cal we are spoiled with great beer and it's hard to find craft beer when you're in other states. THIS place had EVERYTHING! From Stouts to Porters to IPAs they got it! They even have beers on tap! Tomorrow only they'll be doing 50% off growler refills! Kyle was really friendly, helpful, and he knew his beers! Love that they have a mix n match 6 pack for $9.99! They carry Stone Brewing Co. as well! I'll be back here before I leave back to Cali to bring back beers we don't get! Cheers! read more

See all

Came here for the first time to check if they had Bailey's Almande (dairy-free liqueur), and they were the only place in town that I could find it! The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful, and showed me where to find the bottles. Super warm, welcoming place. Clean, well lit, and ample parking. I'll definitely be returning! read more

Awesome liquor store with huge whiskey, bourbon and scotch selection. The guys there are incredibly helpful; I told them which bottles I have liked and did not like and they made perfect recommendations on some new bottles I had not had before. They also have their tasting license and will let you sample if they have an open bottle. I highly recommend it his place when you are in the Phoenix/Tempe area read more

Do not use LIQUOR EXPRESS for alcohol delivery! Terrible service and false advertisement! Not even worth 1 Star! I ordered an expensive scotch for a retirement gift through MINIBAR on their website there are options for gift wrap, gift card with a personal message and states the business that will be responsible for delivering product! I filled out every field including a heartfelt message! The product was delivered not wrapped, no card and the delivery person had no information regarding delivery! read more

Their beer selection is stellar but I come for the Bourbon. Kyle and Elan have a terrific selection at reasonable prices. But more than that they have a great deal of knowledge about their offerings. Go in, have a chat, they will set you down the right path. read more

I can't say enough about this place. Amazing selection. Friendly and Knowledgeable staff. Amazing single barrel selections. It was my first liquor store stop and it's hard to patron others with their selection and costumer service. Before you search elsewhere, check out this place. read more

Wow! Found several bottles of hard to find rum and bourbon. I usually shop the big box stores but there selection of some of the more esoteric rums/rhums is very limited. I will be back here for certain! read more

This establishment is a great example why it's so important to support your mom and pop local liquor store. I wanted to get something special for my wife for our anniversary and Elan worked with me to find that special bottle. Good luck getting that kind of special attention from Total Swines. This place won me over, I'll never go anywhere else again. read more

This is the last place I would expect to have a killer craft beer selection, but it certainly does. They also have a Facebook page where they post new shipments and hosted events. 2 thumbs up. read more

Good selection, but prices are generally a bit high on hard alcohol. The growler fill ups are a great deal, though, and they often have random labels on special for steep discounts. The staff is really nice, and seems to remember you from visit to visit. They even keep my room mate's favorite beer in the cooler, when it's typically kept on the floor, which is really kind of them. read more

GREAT customer service from Ben & Ian today. Drizly dropped the ball on an order of champagne for a 70 yr old's birthday bash. Ben & Ian got it shorted out & delivered the bubbly to us in an hour. Thank you Ben, Ian & Liquor Express! read more

Just came across a stash of Rehab drinks! Don't get too excited, i got all they had - 9 cans :D Nice employees, had whipped cream which I also needed. This is a good corner store. read more

DO NOT USE. Word for word complaint to the BBB and Drizly, turns out this is not the first time a similar complaint has been filed - Liquor Express attempted to obtain profits in an illegal and unethical way. I placed an order of four bottles of wine for an evening party at a price of roughly $16.00 a bottle. I was then contacted by a representative of Liquor Express fifteen minutes before delivery informing me that what they had advertised online was not available and offered to replace my order with a comparable product. Without any concern for the comparable pricing of the product, they offered a wine that was less than half the cost of the original order after having already charged my checking account for over eighty dollars. Had I not noticed the extreme difference in price and called them to request a refund for the margin, it would've gone completely unaddressed and they would simply have collected the profits. Leads me to believe this is not the first time they've applied this tactic to squeeze additional money out of their customers using the service Drizly - In addition, they use a spoofed number that I was not able to call back due to the 'privacy of the vendor'. Makes sense when you're running a complete scam and cannot face your customers when they attempt to resolve the issue. As an added insult, their driver seemed to be very upset about his particular job selection and proceeded to spin his tires in front of my home while making his way back to the liquor store. As an added FYI - Total Wine sells the garbage they sent me for seven dollars, Liquor Express adds a 40% mark up to this turpentine in a bottle. Again, DO NOT USE... plenty of other stores in the valley that are ethical and customer centric. read more

They have an amazing selection on my favorite bourbons! The owner was nice enough to call me when a much waited bottle was in. They are super nice and knowledgeable. read more

Great place for high quality Bourbon! Elan is a great guy and very helpful and really know his stuff

They've got pretty much everything, and the staff there is very friendly and helpful. Prices are fair, and they've just completed a remodel within the last month or so; while the place was well laid out before, now the layout is even more intuitive and very attractive, as well. The one thing I go there for when I can is mead. I love mead, and they've got an awesome selection, from modestly priced to top tier stuff. Additionally, they have a selection of grocery items -- nothing outstanding in that regard, but let's be real: it's a liquor store, not Albertson's. Certainly enough there to put together a mountain of snacks (hot or cold) to go with your beer or booze, and that's perfect. read more

I cant explain how amazing this store is. Great selections, great prices and great employees. Family owned shop and you can tell how passionate the whole family is. They always go out of their way to make you feel valued. Highly recommend for all your alcohol needs! read more

This is the only beer store I will ever shop at in Tempe. The owner there is very down to earth and knowledgeable and friendly. His prices are very fair. I love this place. 5+stars. read more

I do not drive while sober or drinking. I have used Minibar app, and had them deliver from liquor express to find out that is the most awesome place, with the friendliest delivery drivers. One day I'd like to go there myself,Until then I'm very happy that they our affiliated with a service that delivers. read more

I was actually pleasantly surprised coming into the store, they have a big selection of liquor. It looks so small on the outside I had just assumed it was just a little nondescript liquor store carrying all domestics. Not that there's anything wrong with that (read that in Seinfeld's voice). They were able to hold for me two cases of Ballast Point Victory at Sea and I was so grateful because that beer can be hard to come by. They also had weird muchie items like hot pockets, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches sold individually, cheap burritos, frozen pizzas, ice cream, pickles, well you get the idea: drunk food. It is also a little market with the usual small convenience store items like food and home supply goods. The service was super friendly and respectful, I would definitely return. read more

A great liquor store that is right by my place. I am literally in there every single day either getting some booze or cigarettes. The staff is very friendly and they are dependable. Additionally, the sell turkey sub sandwiches for $1.99 and they are actually really good! They are made fresh daily and taste great for lunch at work or if you are in a pinch. They also have a large selection of beer that you wouldn't expect from a place like this. On first glance it appears to be more of a convenience store but they are stocked with a cavalcade of craft beers from Stone Brewing and Nimbus as well as a bunch of other brands I can't think of right now. If marijuana is your predilection they also sell pipes and accessories at incredibly affordable prices, better than most smoke shops in the area. They do sell crack pipes which is probably my only complaint simply because meth and crack are so devastating to both users and their families. However, I can't blame them for selling a product that has a market read more

So I've been here several times... Never really looked at their beer selection until today and I was impressed. The owner is still improving his selection. The prices are pretty good too! I'll be back a lot. read more

This has got to be one of the top two or three liquor stores I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. They have an excellent selection of whisk(e)y at a decent price and the staff is amazing! Elan (Elon?) helped me out with a barrel pick bottle I was searching for and after a couple exchanges about personal whisk(e)y experiences, I quickly found that he was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! I had a fantastic time talking to him about all things whisk(e)y! If I lived in the area, I'd probably be a regular hanging out at the store on a weekly basis! My wallet sure as hell wouldn't be very happy about that though! read more

This place kicks ass truly! My go to place for hard to find craft beer and they have a truly insane huge selection available. Also so many different kinds of liquor choices. Staff is very knowledgeable and always reach out to help find you the right beer. read more

Yes. Tempe has many liquor stores. This is one of my top five. They have the everthing but one thing that keeps me going back is the BEER (bootle, can, growler and exclusive). I found it on mistake and pretty much welcome with open arms lol. The team is helpful and the owner knows his stuff. Find them on Facebook and they keep you updated on specials and the NEW stuff. Very reasonable prices and very great customer service. read more

Amazing service and knowledge. Great selection for a small store. Tons of beer but also good higher end spirits.

Great selection and nice workers. Helpful and friendly. I'm not a big drinker but they knew what would work for me.
