The date is 4/20/2026--a frigid, dark, and stormy night at the intersection of McClintock and…read moreSouthern. A weary traveler arrives and sits down at his favorite bar--Bottleshop48, located at 3318 S McClintock Dr, Tempe, AZ 85282, in the Aldi shopping center. He orders a crisp glass of Bottleshop Water, known to the regulars simply as "water," and rests for a moment as a film begins to play on the main TV. Brad and Angelina appear. It is Mr. and Mrs. Smith, the acclaimed 2005 action/comedy. A small tear rolls down his face; finally, he will be able to enjoy Mr. and Mrs. Smith from start to finish. Finally, his life will have meaning beyond the crude dionysian pursuit of wine, women, and song. Today, he thinks: "my suffering will end: I am free from the banality of the world outside, with a full 2 hours of action/comedy to enjoy, cold drink in hand, hale companions to my left and to my right." But this man was mistaken. Instead a challenger appears--a man from the wrong side of the tracks, a man bent on ruining our hero's uninterrupted viewing of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Shockingly this newcomer requests the TV remote. He brazenly downloads the Sling Freestream app on the TV. He scrolls through the Sling Freestream app's numerous free ad-supported options and chooses--impossibly--Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the 1975 comedic send-up of the grim circumstances of the Middle Ages as told through the story of King Arthur and framed by a modern-day murder investigation. Our hero protests meekly, in earnest: "but I was watching Mr. and Mrs. Smith." "Oh sorry," the upstart pretender responds, surprised that someone would be so interested in seeing the end of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. Does our hero challenge this cruel usurper to fisticuffs for the TV remote? No. Does he chuck a beer at this sadistic lover of classic British humor? No. Does he strip naked and dance atop the bar in a lewd manner to assert his dominance over the TV? He does not. A man of peace--a true lover not a fighter and a known Ryan Gosling look-alike--our hero grits his teeth and accepts the excruciating truth that he will see no more of Brad and Angelina on this night. He simply pays his tab and exits into the freezing late April air, never to know true happiness. Never to experience complete extasy. Never to see the end of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. There's a cool little bar area plus extra seating up front, which makes it easy to hang and sip. Came through during the holidays and the festive vibe was on point. I love coming here for the wine classes! I think this store in particular does the best ones!…read more This time the class was about Italian wines! Stew and Mark always make it so fun! They are both very knowledgeable about the wines, and always answer everyone's questions. They also give generous pours. The snacks they had were different bruschettas, and they were delicious! A lot of the wines we sampled in this class were less then $20 which is an awesome price point for good wine. I definitely took home a few bottles. Highly recommend taking a class here.

She made it seem like we were there to get drunk??? She had an attitude basically the whole time she was talking to me. For no reason. At one point I said "never mind" and wanted to walk away but she tried to make up for her attitude and gave us a couple options to try. The tequila was great and both my boyfriend and I agreed we were gonna come back to purchase the Suavecito (but we already had our hearts set on a wine from a wine sample we tried). The gentleman at the wine section was a whole lotttt friendlier. Since we tried a couple of tequila samples and didn't buy any tequila at the time, when we walked away, she said "All that and you still didn't buy anything". Girl. The attitude. Just flat out rude. If you're so miserable at your job, find a new one. Also it's so uncomfortable being followed around the whole time you shop there. Literally feels like hawks around you. I definitely won't be back. The wine is good tho!

I barely recognized the place! But I kept driving around and got a little more oriented as I went along. I used to go to a Jo-Ann's or Michael's in the center but I can't remember which because I didn't see either and I know Joanne's has closed. Anyway as I was exploring, I saw the Total wine store and having had good experience with the one in San diego, I decided to stop by and see if they had Greek Retsina which is hard to find. They didn't have it and it was a dollar more than I had paid in San Diego but I think I got us sale price there. I remember years ago I used to be able to buy a gallon of it at a local Greek market for $5 but those days are gone. It was $12 for the one here so I bought it as a treat. The store was extremely neat and well laid out and a couple of employees I encountered were very helpful. I asked about lavender syrup and they had that. I asked about Ginger beer, the alcoholic kind, and they had that I happened on to a reasonably priced bottle of sangria so I got that and I've been out of beer forever so when I saw they had PBR for $10 or 12 pack I decided to go ahead and get it. In fact, I can't think of anything that I asked about that they didn't have. I considered it a successful trip.

I asked them to check the cameras because I knew I was alone, but they continued accusing me without verifying anything. I'm freshly 21 and I understand I look young, but that is absolutely no excuse for treating me like I was lying. I left, went to another Total Wine, and had zero issues. Completely ridiculous behavior from the staff at this location.
