We ran into an unexpected surprise during a small home remodel in San Jose -- we were suddenly told we needed a new fire sprinkler system. After calling a couple of other sprinkler contractors, both told me I'd *have* to upgrade my water meter, which San Jose Water quoted at around $18,000. :O Then I found Bayview Fire and spoke with Edgar. I sent him our building plans, and he personally came out to the house to take a pressure reading off our hose bib. He double-checked everything with his Designer and confirmed they could make the new system work with our existing ¾" water meter. No upgrade needed- which saved us a huge amount right from the start. The design was turned around quickly and approved without issue. Edgar made sure to plan ahead, knowing our tight timeline, and even scheduled the inspection in advance so that once the work was done, we could immediately move forward. His attention to detail and sense of urgency made all the difference. The pricing was very fair -- especially considering the money he saved us, the speed of the job, and the professional service. Thanks to Edgar and his team, we were able to finalize the project and avoid further delays caused by an oversight in our architectural plans. They took on a challenging design and installation in a mountain-side community in a redwood forest with narrow roads and boulders. Part of the piping was underground, beneath roads, and part was above ground secured on concrete posts. They did a high quality job and stuck with the project through hot and cold weather, rain, supply chain problems and the tough terrain. Throughout the crew did a high-quality installation and was polite and respectful. They stayed in communication with us and were responsive. The service person never showed up for the appointment and there were no calls, texts; nothing. Mazzy also charged finance charges on a bill, for which i paid on time but for which they claim they didn't receive the check. I have a bank billpay confirmation that i trust more than i do Mazzy's A/R department. We find Mazzy's a difficult company to work with and will no longer be doing business with them.

Their customer service and communication are the best I have experienced from any contractor. Rick even called me on a weekend when he was out of town to verify the exposed pipe. I, as a home designer in the Bay area, have a reputation to uphold when I refer someone and I would never refer anyone who is not on the top of their game. Recently on a project in Burlingame I had a project that was extremely difficult with an old portion of the home connecting a substantial new addition. The city required a sprinkler system so I called on Rick to design and install the fire sprinkler system. The project went so smoothly that the client called me a thanked me for the recommendation. Once again Rick did a great job. Unfortunately, for Donna T. sounds like a mistake was made when gas heaters were probably installed after the fact to close to a sprinkler head and that set of the sprinkler system. There is always two sides to the story and unfortunately she has made a case that deserves a response.
