This church is amazing! people of all ages come here and there's a young adult group where many normal people attend who are 18-35! Not boring like other churches as they sing more lively songs and talk about the Bible in a more modern tone. They offer non-alcoholic beverages as well. I was here to try their Clean water cafe. after the meal, I was strolling through the church, and it impressed me with its ambiance, décor, and mission. Liquid Church has both a global and a local signature mission. Their local mission is to serve families living with special needs. Their global mission is to bring clean water to families in Africa and Central America. They have their own cafe (Clearwater Cafe), the idea was pitched in 2018, and they were immediately on board, donating $400,000 to make this dream a reality. The café opened in October 2022 with 20 staff members who work as baristas, cashiers, and waitstaff to serve breakfast, lunch, and specialty drinks. the goal of the coffee shop is to provide "delicious coffee, breakfast, and lunch with a cause." It employs 19 people with disabilities, some of whom say it's their first paid job. read more

I accidentally stumbled upon this church during a random Google search. Since then, I just couldn't stop loving Liquid Church! I actually live all the way out in California! I love virtually hanging out with Brian's group on Thursdays. I am so excited to have met these awesome team of people. Vacationing in New Jersey is on my bucket list of things to do in my life. Please do not let these negative comments not let you see what a great place to meet people, prayer teams in each service, the Cafe is amazing, employed by special needs, special need events, your greeted with smiles and coffee. Pastor Tim's gift as an English Teacher and love for movies and humor. Puts the context of the Bible in everyday life terms. Faith is a not a guilt trip. He knows how to speak to us so that it's impactful for growth in our lives. Its fun and interactive. Great programs for the children, youth, singles, young adults,marriage, and all ages and stages. I had stayed away from church for years because I lost my way from church not my faith. I was searching or a place to call home and not a place where I felt condemned because I was human and not perfect. All the pastors here make it clear in every sermon what the bible is asking of us, but in a human way. I don't have to guess what they are saying and every time I go I feel like I am at home. Everyone is very friendly and very welcoming. The music is awesome. I am so happy I came across Liquid Church. Along with the sermons I love they do so much to give back where ever they can. Have you been church-hopping for over 8 years, become resentful of the Catholic church, developed an inherent fear of the 8' Saint Lazarus statue in your aunt's living room, or just felt church/religion was one big guilt trip? Well, I have! ^_^ I've been on one heck of a spiritual journey. And I was pretty lucky to come across a place as cool and laid back, as it is mentally challenging and spiritually filling as this one. First church I have ever come across that didn't seem like one big theatrical drama or some money-making infomercial. At Liquid, a name that reflects the fluid pace of the many people's hearts there, I've met some of the most inspiring, driven, dedicated, helpful, and just plain old loving souls. We're all flawed, we're all sad and broken at times in life. But I see people coming together in one place with one purpose here. It's quite visible, and a force that can be felt. What to expect? -People dressed in casual wear & jeans, yet wearing the Sunday-best smile. -Pastors occasionally dressed in outrageous funny costumes -A rocked out church band (drums, guitar, bass, etc.) -Technology (it can be awkward at first, but yes, they use big screens, lights, mikes, speakers, etc.) -And encouragement to develop a unique and fulfilling personal relationship with YOUR creator, God! There is no pressure to attend religiously, no pressure to give a % of your income, so I go when I can. Or I attend they're LIVE services online! I ask questions. Things I don't agree with, I voice them. Having my ideas that don't fit into the formal construct of Christian ideology is OKAY. We talk about them openly. Every service, or they're Life Classes feels like an intimate and engaging college seminar... (YES! Finally I'm not sleepy at church! hehe) I was impressed when Pastor Tim had said something along the lines of, "God gave you a brain. Why as a church would we ask you NOT to use it to question things in life. It's how you gain understanding." From that moment, I knew I could finally feel comfortable at LQ with my beliefs and who I am here and trust those around me a bit more like I never have been able to do in many other places [both secular and non]. I still don't agree 100% with what Pastor Tim preaches every week (ahem, sorry! ( ; _ ; ), but that's okay. Because our hearts are still aligned in the same direction, and I've learned so much on how to live a simpler life with a focus on a God of love and not of guilt or hate. I moved to Morristown, NJ a year ago and visited several churches, seeking one to call "home". I grew up in a traditional Presbyterian church then went to Notre Dame for college and was exposed to the Catholic church. Needless to say, I saw the good and the bad of both. Thus, I became increasingly interested in trying out a nondenominational church. Liquid Church is a welcoming, Bible-teaching church that preaches grace, truth, and fun. Pastor Tim delivers intelligent and touching sermons each Sunday, the band is lively and has elevated worship for me to be equivalent to the message, the people are friendly and honest....Had it not been for Liquid Church, I would have been very content to continue my "church life" sitting in the back of a service every Sunday, barely engaged, not knowing any other congregants, getting in and out. I feel truly blessed to be a part of this church. Church members are all extremely involved and connected. I've joined two life groups and have become involved with their youth ministry. I consider these people some of my closest friends and spend a lot of time with them. I've honestly never experience such fellowship and community with such godly, non-judgmental, intelligent people. read more

It is a "fun" place for brand new believers or people who are checking out churches, but once you grow in faith and learn discernment, you will clearly see this is not the place to be. I feel this church became to commercialized. Really all about the numbers. The end for me there was the day they did the "Jersey Shore" skit. I don't remember exactly how I stumbled across Liquid Church and Tim Lucas' brilliant Sunday messages a couple of years ago-- I'll just assign it to Divine Intervention. As has probably been said of all people who are truly God-inspired, Tim is brilliant--speaking with knowledge, authority and a compelling spirit that, once heard, creates a hunger for more. Along with Mike Erre of Rock Harbor, Jack Abeelen of Morningstar, and Dan Huckins of Lima Community, Tim presents and provides the Good Word the way that it was supposed to be--engaging, enticing, and enlightening--encouraging a personal relationship with Christ. If you live in the BaskingRidge, NJ area, I envy your proximity to Liquid. It's a bit of a drive for me (3000+miles) so I "attend" Liquid via liquidchurch.com, and would encourage anyone and everyone to check it out! I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. So of you may feel my review is biased since this is my home church and I've been going here for 4+ years. However, let mejust share with you one of the main things I love about this church. Besides the great worship teams and the relevant and inciteful sermons, the thing that stands out the most to me is the outreaches they have to people with needs. Growing up in a church where the outreaches were few and it had more of a country club feel, the scope and dedication that the Liquid leadership and congregants have toward showing God's love to people who need it most is inspiring and is something that all Christians should be doing and/or supporting. It's taken me almost a year to really digest and tell this story. We started attending Liquid church about 2 years ago, largely due in part to their focus on the special needs community. We thought they were inclusive given their staffed special needs coordinator at each campus and their focus on welcoming everyone. They started out that way for my family, but after about 6-months decided it was too expensive to continue paying for a sign language interpreter for a deafblind person for their church service. I was sure they just didn't understand, therefore entered into discussion about the value this interpreter was giving to the deafblind person and her family in terms of understanding and receiving God's Word, how it helped the family grow in faith and how the family had already committed to volunteering to give back. The family had become part of their church family and finally felt accepted and safe. During the next church service, the pastor stood on stage and boasted about how much money they had received in their Special Needs Christmas offering and announced they'd be using the "overage" amount to open a new location in NJ. We were crushed. The deafblind person cried on the steps while talking to the pastor. I followed up with emails but the pastor said he was very sorry, that the leadership board said they just "couldn't help everyone". I have never been so disappointed in a church, in man or in the idea of living to serve others. read more

It is hard to imaging such a good place providing serve in a hotel. After moving to Morristown, we have been loving it. Pastor Tim is gifted and the serve is fun and engaging. The church has grown a lot recently with multiple campuses, but the core value remains the same. Liquid is kids -friendly. Its Liquid Kids program provides excellent help during the service and the kids are having fun as well. Every month or so, there will be different series with varieties of biblical topics. I had my experience with Liquid Church while I was in rehab at the Market Street Mission in Morristown. The time I spent at the mission was tough. I am a 39 year old alcoholic that had come to the very end. Rock Bottom! Lost my job, my home and my son. I had nowhere else to go. During my first month at the mission I started to hear whispers about this "liquid" church and wasn't sure what at all they were talking about. After I completed my 30 day blackout period at the mission and was allowed to go out on a Sunday to visit the local church of my choosing, one of the friends I had made in the mission brought me over to the church to check it out. I was baptised catholic and raised presbyterian. My idea of church was so milky white and blah I didn't conceive of anyone ever wanting to get up on a Sunday to go unless of course they were forced by their parents. Liquid took me in and made me feel at home. My second week I decided to help out . They gave me a red t-shirt and put me in charge of gathering the collection "buckets". Yeah me, a 2 time loser with a history of drug and alcohol abuse, and at least mild criminal history was holding their money. I felt warm. I felt like I was trusted. Most of all I felt like this is where I belonged. Sadly I had to leave the mission after 90 days and go back to my home in Bradley Beach. I still watch Tim and the others give their sermon every week. If he's some kind of evil like I've seen described in the other post then nail me to the cross. Some people might not get the whole mass media christianity thing but I can say for sure I do. I think if Jesus had a webcam he surely would have used it. I feel tha Liquid is fresh and inviting and it makes me feel like my relationship with God is one of true family, friendship, and love. He is not an omnipotent old man sitting and waiting to judge me, he is a loving and caring father who weeps at my transgressions and wants nothing more than for me to accept the love of him and his only son. Now after I left Morristown I started going to the boardwalk summer service that is in Ocean Grove. It's modern, with a great little band that changes from week to week but it doesn't have the warm welcoming feeling that I had in Morristown. Now that the summer has come to an end I'm basically just watching online but I will go visit back there anytime that I can. We found this church while visiting the area a year ago. I love to visit the New Brunswick campus whenever we are in town. It is biblical, relevant, real, and challenging. Pastor Tim's messages in the Last Words series are some of the most outstanding I have heard on the Gospel. He is approachable and transparent. Though we are not technically a part of the church, as visitors we are greeted warmly. I would feel comfortable calling this church "home". read more

The unbelievable review by Gabriel M. is the complete opposite of what literally thousands regularly experience at Liquid Church...visit for yourself and you will not find ONE characteristic of a cult here. It IS unconventional and not your typical church, but always biblical and inspiring. Pastor Tim Lucas, Pastor Mike Leahy, Pastor Tom Kang, and the other pastors/leaders LIVE what they preach, which is the Gospel and Love of Jesus Christ. They are REAL, obviously love what they do, and go out of their way to connect personally with those who attend (a trait I have, in the past 30 years, sadly never had in a pastor). Visited the new church "campus" in Montclair last Sunday. First time I've attended a service. Fun time, lots of people. Disappointed to find out that the leadership of the Church is all men. Women not allowed. Ridiculous. This is not the 1970's. Teaching very much based on God the personal. In other words my faith is about Me. How I treat others is not that important. Lots of images of suffering through job loss, miscarriage, etc. Sermon was very theatrical and selectively biblical. The pastor stated many times that the church is imperfect. I was raised Catholic and fell away from the church because I couldn't figure out how it applied to my life. Liquid Church is the best thing that happened for my spiritual life, and the spiritual lives of my family members. All of the sermons are so applicable and easily relate to my life. I also love Liquid's philosophy of "faith is a journey, not a guilty trip." They recognize that not everyone is in the same place in life, and they work to meet people where they are. In addition, they actively reach out to the community. It feels great to put my faith into action, which I never was able to do before. Best of all, they make church fun! Visited the Nutley campus. Nice place in the center of town at the local Middle School. They have two services. I went to the early service. Was greeted by some very nice people all wearing t-shirts. The service started and their band or worship team was VERY loud. Good but loud. There is no preacher here. The message is shared via video or tape. The pastor (Tim) out of one of the main churches shares. Kind of weird but it was a good message so after getting used to the big (Huge) TV screens it was fine. When it ended everyone left pretty quickly which was strange. I did meet one of the local pastors (there are a few) and he was very nice. Super casual environment. I do really like the community involvement. Great to see that a church in the area gets involved. Too many dead ones around. It was good but... Nothing bad just not into the big screens and not having the pastor there to talk to afterwards. read more
