I have had moments of weakness where, who do you call on? Your Pastor. I was shunned for my weakness. Apparently the Chapel is "growing" in attendance. I believe that this has made Dave not remember that he needs to be humble because God does judge all of us, no matter where we are in our lives. Being a Christian is a fine line and sometimes it is crossed. I'm so sad to loose my Chapel family but I'm human and I can't exhaust myself praying and attending if I'm invisible. It's very sad. Side note: he welcomed a girl who committed vehicular homicide to one of his parishioners in front of the church. However, I come to worship and try my best to live a good Christian life and I was put on the sidelines. I'm sad, very sad and disappointed. Ohh, another thing... my son and I were preparing to get baptized at the Chapel. I guess we were not worthy enough.

First, the worship team is awesome!!! Second, everyone is super friendly, welcoming and caring. Third, and most important, the Pastor is amazing. He is extremely passionate about what he preaches. His messages will open your eyes to the Truth. He takes passages from the Bible and makes them easy to understand and demonstrates how to apply them to everyday situations. He stays true to the Bible, does not sugar coat anything and calls it as it is. If you are looking for a church that relaxes biblical principals to conform to the norms of this world, then this church is NOT for you. Aside from how serious he takes the Word of God, he is funny, easy going and just plain cool. He has a great wife and kids- and they all do so much for the church. I visited Christ Church over the holiday season and was immediately hooked! The people were so…read moreinviting and welcoming! I felt comfortable the moment I walked in. The congregation is beautifully diverse, and so is the ministerial staff. The music is uplifting, the message is powerful, and I always leave feeling inspired and loved. The Christmas show was absolutely fantastic, which led me to attend a regular Sunday morning service. It lasted just under 90 minutes, and I left feeling empowered, like I could conquer the world. I've been back several times since, and each visit somehow tops the last! Like others have mentioned, the only downside is parking. It's in downtown Montclair, which can get busy. I usually park at a nearby school a couple of blocks away and walk over which is not ideal for everyone, but it works for me. There's some limited street parking, but the best strategy is to attend the first morning service at 9 a.m. and arrive around 8:15-8:30. That way, you can usually snag a spot nearby. Overall, I have little to no complaints. Christ Church offers so much -- life groups, a children's ministry, a teen ministry, a marriage ministry -- so many opportunities to connect and grow. I truly feel at home here and look forward to returning again and again

On December 9, 1937, Pope Pius XI named the Church of St. John the Baptist as the Cathedral for the new Catholic Diocese of Paterson in northern NJ consisting 3 counties: Passaic, Morris and Sussex. The current St. John's is very much the result of the vision of the church's thirteenth pastor, Very Rev. William McNulty. He engaged P. C. Kiely, a prominent church architect to design a new neo-Gothic church that can seat up to 1,800 people. The cathedral was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. We'll definitely come back soon to get more detailed.
