Taste just like Oaxaca, and if you know anything about regional Mexican food, Oaxaca is elite!

We stumbled upon Lion's Café Cantina while buying cupcakes at Hansen's, and oh my gosh, what a find! The fish tacos are hearty and exquisite, the guacamole is fresh, chunky and beautiful. Since we had already eaten, that's all we got today, but I cannot wait to go back, both for breakfast and also lunch and dinner The proprietor is the nicest guy, and the presentation for everything was just lovely.

I got a ice vanilla latte here. It was amazing and I asked them what copy they use and they said they use Italian coffee but if I wanted a Ethiopian coffee, they could do a slow pour for me. This café is located in Little Ethiopia and it's very cute vibes and has authentic vibes as well. I love this little spot.

Evidently this place has only been open a month or so, which is why they seem pretty under the radar. They don't have any signage out yet. My friend happened upon this place in a search for a brunch spot in the area. We were the only customers which gave me pause, but the food was really good! They have a small but decent coffee list. A Spanish latte was on it but they didn't have condensed milk at this time :( however the iced vanilla latte was good! My friend got an iced cappuccino. I got the breakfast burrito and it was really good. Simple but well executed and a good portion. My friend got a hefty veggie omelette. Since we were the only customers the service was good and friendly. The interior is simple, spacious for what it is. There's no bathroom but the place next door has the same owner and you can pop over there to use it. Hopefully they pick up business so they can last awhile! :)

The iced orange espresso is perfectly balanced. The service is prompt and the owners are knowledgeable and friendly. The ambiance is casual.

What's in this photo, straight deliciousness, of a club sandwich

The food the air the drink the f ood music was combo meal for itself , everything matches the vibe won't disappoint that's for sure

This is the fanciest bottle of water anyone's ever offered me.

My waiter kindly seated me. He turned on some nice Jazz music. The environment is quiet and spacious. I ordered the breakfast burrito, which contained, scrambled eggs, cheddar cheese, and potatoes. It comes with bacon, but I substituted it for turkey sausage. The burrito was delicious and filling. Fresh ingredients and tasty. The staff here are kind, and I look forward to continuing my dining here.

Jackson market as a whole in terms of ambiance, variety, taste definitely overtakes bay cities but if you're just talking about comparing food quality sand which to sand which it will be a tough TIE (it's not less) than bay cities. Bay cities is loaded and so is Jackson but bay cities is a little more juicier where the inside sandwich ingredients shine more and you can definitely taste each of the ingredients eg banana peppers meats deli cheese etc. Jackson market's Italian sub had harder bread but I could see like some would argue it's more balanced. It definitely is a little less juicy and even though there were complimentary banana peppers I hardly tasted it at all as it was sprinkled far and few. If you paid for an added topping eg. Jalepenos they were definitely generous with it. Tip: DO NOT get the French baguette toasted as it'll be too hard. The market is fun because it also offers wine selections ($20-$60), not a fun cheese selection like bay cities, pasta salad, bomb tiramisu, has an entire PIZZA OVEN in the back, fun canned drinks including GUAYABA (an aloe tasting like drink), pastries, and chips/snacks. Ambiance - the patio in the back is spacious and big. They don't allow you to bring a computer to work there and the WiFi and service is pretty bad there. Parking - street parking along residential homes 2 subs ($14.99/each), 2 drinks, 1 large chip ($4.95) came out to be around $44. Overall an amazing find. The 10/10 would come back & especially try the pizza. Revolutionary in food taste ? Probably not but revolutionary in enjoyability and spot find? 1000%. Happy munching !

When I went to order at the counter, the staff said we could sit and they were serve us, which I wasn't expecting at all! I really appreciate they that have both the fast-casual order style and the sit down and enjoy style duality to this restaurant. I got the chai latte and a hummus bowl with falafel (though as I write this I can't remember if that was the actual menu name of the dish). It was delicious--the falafel was one of the best I've ever had taste wise, and a bit on the airy side instead of being super dense, which I appreciated. Sometimes falafel is too dang dry, and they really got it right. The hummus was phenomenal. I'm really such a sucker for a good, quality hummus and it was so creamy and the oil they topped it with was wonderful too. The veggies were fresh and the pita was such a star: it was thick and chewy and clearly freshly made. Immediate 5 star for the food. So glad I stopped by here and will definitely be back!

¥¥¥ 2026 review #7 ¥¥¥…read more When I found out Vesti is doing an 8-month residency (until January 31st 2027) at The Maydan Market, I immediately booked 2 seats for their Eating Menu. Yup! You read it currently. Not a mini bites tasting menu that still leaves you hungry after messes. It's a generously portioned full size EATING MENU fit for true foodies!!! An AYCE for 2 hours at Vesti's counter, Chef prepared, right in front of your eyes. Like an Omakase but a million times better, with imported, high quality ingredients and you can even ask for seconds if you really really love any course. Trust me, you will be FULLY stuffed! We started out with Vesti Zippy Dill And Vinegar Chips with Pecorino Mascarpone Caramelized Onion Dip ($12) that in itself is a yummy starter. Highly recommend to add a 12g Tin. ($45) Aqua Best Ossetra Caviar! #iykyk Next, we had the most delicate and superbly balanced Ōra King Salmon w/ cucumber granita, trout roe & pickles. Mmmmm.... I was tempted to ask for servings but needed to pace myself. Bite after bite, we were wow'ed by each and every dish preparation. I got to chat and talk FOOD with Chef Adam and Chef Shane as well as Jorge and Tony -- honestly that was the highlight of the whole Eating Menu experience. The courses kept coming, as soon as we finish one dish, another one pops up! Delicious Nduja sausage in toasted homemade focaccia, super crispy vodka beer-battered wings, Nduja croquettes & Nona's Balls, to-die-for Zoe's crispy fried mortadella sandwich, made-to-order artisan pizza... we were so stuffed! But there's always room for dessert, especially when it's Vesti's Whiskey Caramel Chocolate Chip Bread Pudding!!! Served warm with fresh whip cream.m ^_^ pure heavenly bliss! This location on Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown is the smallest of the three I've visited, with under 10 seats available. It's a compact shop, and most customers opt for takeout. It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again. A big thank you to the female staff member who expertly cut the meat and offered samples, assisting us in making the perfect choice for my son's sandwich. This experience was truly a positive one for our family. I would definitely return to AAV for the excellent food and service.
