Took our family here for our annual Christmas visit to Rockford. We had five of us and we all ordered either the tortellini with meatballs, spaghetti with meatballs or Lasagna along with the house salad with dressing and blue cheese on the side. The bread they served is really good. We were seated in a very nice little alcove room, very private. Our waitress was good but she forgot to mention if we wanted the blue cheese for the salad....we had to go out and flag her down to ask her to bring us the cheese. Not a problem, but with the enclosed room you're not really noticed. A couple of our group thought the salad needed a bit more dressing. The sausage on the salad is always great. I called to verify our reservations about 35 minutes before our reservation time just tp]o make sure they had it. Good thing I did as they did not have it down(I had made reservations about a month ago by calling in from SC). They put us down for 6:30PM and we were really surprised that we were seated immediately upon entering! Had a great meal and rook home tortellini and spaghetti leftovers. Always a Rockford favorite for good reason. This family-owned restaurant has been a staple of our own family's ever since I can remember. We come here many times each year, and for most restaurants, that would get old; not so with Lino's. Their menu has great variety without being overwhelming, so there's something for everyone. Everything is homemade, including the pasta and sauces, and the flavors are always spot on. I'd highly suggest the gnocchi, tortellini (I actually get the gnocchi and tortellini combo a lot), lasagna, salmon, and chicken Parmesan. And for whatever entree you order, GET THE SPECIAL SALAD. You won't be disappointed. Pro tip: it almost took me 3 decades to learn this, but they have a soup, salad, and bread combo kind of like Olive Garden but better. Their minestrone soup is to die for, as is their freshly baked bread and special salad, and it's all only $10. That's been my jam lately, it's an incredible deal. The staff here really set this place apart. They are incredibly friendly, helpful, and make you feel like you're home. Our specific server tonight, Bri, was fantastic and one of the best servers we've ever had. Thanks for that, Bri! You are awesome! We always take people from out of town here, and we won't stop. Have lived in Rockford for over a decade & have finally made it to this gem. We arrived prior to closing, about 30 mins & were seated right away. Ordered a couple appetizers and came out pretty quick. The fried ravioli & and graze board were yummy & very shareable for my little family of 3. I had half order of their famous lasagna & their fettuccine Alfredo. My hubby had their lasagna & famous spaghetti. My son had their gnocchi and Mostaccioli. All was delicious. We all shared our entrees, so we were able to try a little bit of everything. It was a lot of food, so we ended up taking a little bit home as our meal also included their bread & butter, their house salad & ice cream. Very cool interior & design inside for a nice date environment, hanging out with friend's and or family. Service was great & food portions were decent for the price we paid. I'm on a work trip from San Diego and I will try to not be as harsh since I know this is a small town. The service was really good and I came here after seeing many great reviews. However, it might just be because there aren't that many restaurant in this city. I got fettuccine alfredo with shrimp which comes with salad, bread, coffee, and desert all for about $20. Although this was a good deal, restaurants that don't have good food tend to do these types of deals to get clients in, which limits them on the quality of food. The pasta portion was huge and the quality was not there. It tasted like the pasta I cooked when I was in college. Bottled sauce and that's it, no flavor. I'd rather eat less portion but better quality for the same price...I'd even pay more if the portions were smaller and better quality. read more

The food is 100 QUALITY you can taste the difference! There is love in it too. The pizza is always perfectly done, their homemade sausage is to die for their SAUCE is on point. The minestrone soup is my favorite ever, and their homemade bread I sigh for! The lasagna is the only lasagna I'll eat, and their ice cream is fresh. I revisited one of my old haunts from over 35 years ago and found the business is thriving. I strongly encourage you to make a reservation on a weekend. We were able to secure a spot in the bar. I started with a Bullet Old Fashion. The drink had muddled cherries and an orange slice topped off with a generous pour of bourbon. I order a Special Side Salad and a large A16 pizza. The salad was wonderful, the pizza just as I remembered. Again an excellent pie. We topped off the meal with a S'mores and Tiramisu gelato. Both really hit the spot. The bar and restaurant were at capacity and the service was very good. You won't be disappointed. read more

This restaurant is run by prejudice employees let alone the owner. It makes me sick to see a restaurant treat employees that way. No respect for the workers. Went here while traveling through the area. Made a reservation and arrived early and we were seated early. Surprising since it was Mother's Day and they were packed. The hostess was very friendly and pleasant. Our waitress was very nice and efficient. The food was very good and reasonably priced. The portions were nice sized and came with salad and dessert. Parking was not the easiest. The noise was loud at times but not to bad for the number of people in there. We would go there again. read more

Passing through Rockford and stopped in at Lino's Italian restaurant. WOW! Very nice experience. The food was quality, the ambiance with the bonus of the quintet playing beautiful music on the courtyard. Our server Natalyia was pleasant and delivered excellent service. I love Lino's. Il only lived out here for a few years but I come here for many of my special occasions. Bring my family when they're in town they're from Chicago and they know pizza and they also say this pizza is really good. Atmosphere is good too. We always seem to get those little grotto tables which are very cute and cool. I saw something on the check last time I came that said they give you a 3% discount if you pay in cash. Very cute when first walk to. We were greeted right away and sat quickly. The inside is cute too, decorated to look like an Italian street. Our server was sweet and made sure we got the meals we wanted. The orange crush and limoncello drinks were yummy! The special salad was just the right size and the dressing and sausage were delicious. My husband enjoyed the bread. The salmon was cooked well and the gluten free pasta was well made. My husband enjoyed his large portion of chicken parmigiana and really appreciated the fact that he could sub lasagna for the pasta side. It's fun that they add in a scoop of ice cream to your meal and it's just the right amount. We even had a manager (I'm assuming) come check on us when the server told her it was our first time in. We were in the area Labor Day weekend for a soccer tournament. We didn't have our schedule until the Monday prior and needed to find a spot for a team dinner. I called them up, explained the situation, and we lucked out that our last game on Saturday was a late one. Made reservations fro 50-55 people for 8pm. We did have to wait a bit for the group before us to finish and head out, and we were sat at 8:30. We had the same waitresses that served that group before, also a soccer team. I've been going to Lino's for 45+ years. It's a nice place to go to celebrate something. Prices are a little high but the food is good. They have a great pizza deal you can get for takeout (large pizza, special salad for 2 and a 2 liter of soda). Tip: order the dressing on the side so it isn't soggy! You just pull up to the to go lanes and they bring it out. You don't even leave your car! The pizza is good and the cheese is very distinctive. I can pick out a Lino's pizza blindfolded just on how the cheese tastes. The lasagna is another thing they are known for. read more

Me and my husband and my kids went limos pizza on rockford last night for my daughters 10th birthday. We called ahead asked for the special large pizza with salad and 2 liter. We paid got our food,we asked if they had any 2 liters cold,no but they had a 6 pack of rootbeer in the fridge and she brought that to us which was amazing! Then we asked about plates they didn't have any but they ripped the top if the go boxes and we were very happy with it,it worked just as well! She brought extra napkins and forks just incase. We have been spending the last 4 weekends in Rockford due to family reunions and after trying some of the other restaurants, we finally made it to Lino's which came highly recommended for Gnocchis, one of my favorite Italian dishes. As we walked into the restaurant I noticed all the beautiful Italian style decorations, an ample lobby with a fountain and as we were being taken to our seats we noticed a table inside of a Pisa tower prop that was very cool. We were having a great time relaxing and I had decided not to take pictures of the food during dinner. Our waitress seemed busy and came to tell us she would be with us soon. From the beginning to the end she was kind and attentive. We ordered bottled water and a Margarita pizza for everyone. As it arrived we all enjoyed it very much! My husband asked for chicken and I requested gnocchis with Alfredo sauce and a piece of added salmon. I was excited. I love Gnocchis. My grandmother used to make them from scratch growing up. Included salads came in first. They contained sausage which I don't eat but my husband was looking at my plate like a hawk so I knew the salad would have a home. Suddenly, the young waitress accidentally dropped one of the water bottles ( closed) on me and the salad, and she was feeling very bad. I immediately told her that everything was perfectly ok and not to stress but I could see that didn't calm her. Next, came our dishes brought directly by the chef, Jimmy. Apologizing for taking too long on bringing our plates and for everything else. We told him that we were happy and enjoying dinner. My husband said his chicken was great and I can happily tell you that my Gnocchis were spectacular! They were perfectly cooked to my liking. Yum! I ordered a big plate so I took the left over to go, which I kept picking on until 1 am ! We then asked for desserts, they didn't have much of a variety but Jimmy himself came back with a complete cake and ice cream for us to try. We all loved it and took what was left to go as well! When we asked for the check, the waitress told us that the meal was fully complimentary. My husband and I looked at each other and we agreed that we couldn't accept it. The dinner was amazing! A lady manager came in and told us that the owner insisted and that she couldn't do anything. We then found out that Jimmy, the chef who brought us our food is the owner. We were extremely surprised by the gesture because we truly felt there was nothing wrong to the level of getting the dinner for free! The little things can happen to anyone. We left a good tip for our waitress, thanked the lady manager very much and let her know how grateful we were. She said that Jimmy didn't feel our experience was up to his standards and he always wants to make sure his guests leave completely satisfied. We can assure you we were completely satisfied Jimmy!
